  1. This is true, Mel is on the east coast and I am on the west coast. I cannot go to Mel's shop and get your canopy for you, sorry. I wish I could help you right now, but I am unable because of distance. Check PM.
  2. After letting things gel in my head a bit, I have two more thing to do on my suit. I'm hoping to make it flock friendly, without lot's more outward changes. The original intent was to bring the leading edge angle forward to give the pilot more lower speed control without getting into a "contorted" flying position. I'm glad someone also thought of this and made a prototype that flew. The wing root / leading edge change works well and is removable between flights. In all design changes there are tradeoffs, I think max fwd speed will be lower, but hey this is for people that do not want to spend $1200- $1400 on a new suit. More details to come as I get them and no, I will not talk about them here until I have at least tested them myself or get input from my local guy's/ girl's. Back to work patching a VX that got sliced and diced at a ski running or whatever they call it event.........
  3. Lighter wing loading, I hope! And the delirium, better than "mushrooms" on your pizza!
  4. So, is it El Rodeo? They are really good on service and I have not been sick in a couple weeks.
  5. I'm pretty sure Terry is right, looks like Northern Lite product to me.
  6. Hell yea! Looks like she needs some intense "Direct Supervision".
  7. John Carta, and I think it was th Verrazano Narows Bridge. Too bad John Bowlin is not around to tell us more.........
  8. Yes, the centerline must be in the larkshead knot. Not doing so can cause damage after a while.
  9. Looks like a zigzag stitch to me. Should be ok, watch for any unraveling of the stitching. Check if the same stitch is at the stabilizer to b,c,or d line junction or the cascade points. learn how to inspect these and other parts of your gear and you will have confidence.
  10. I know one Master Rigger that packs like this ALL the time, (not me, by the way) and when i first opened one of his pack jobs I was like, "Huh, Whaaaa???. It was absolutely neat and tidy. I won't pack reserves like this because I don't want that whiney phone call saying "You caaaan't dooo it like that!!!". I don't need it. But i will not throw this guy under the bus because of this method, I use it on my base gear, slider up, down high speed or low speed with good results.
  11. I will be back in the shop tomorow mid-day, and will help you out.
  12. I will be back in the shop wed. mid morning, I take monday and tuesday off.
  13. There is no coverup, the problem was properly documented (PIA ts 122 form), pictures taken. If you have a BONAFIDE reason I will talk to you about it. You should have my Ph # if you were there. Again, proper procedures were followed by myself.Stay on topic.....
  14. From what I remember, Christian was told to keep down when he exited. The previous load, he was said to have been too agressive and had a near miss. The people I spoke with said he stood up and pushed up strongly and struck the horizontal stabilizer mid-back, folding himself backwards. Come on, it was the Harness/Container that really broke his back wasnt' it? That was the thing that came into contact with him....This is Bullshit. I am just glad he had a cypres or we would have had to dig him out of the ground.
  15. I just spent a couple of days in South Carolina at Skyworks with Mel. He has set me up with quite a library of information for manufacture of linesets. I am at the Lodi DZ in Acampo, CA. and have been on site for 8 years. I am am a Master Rigger with 5 years of employment at Quantum Parachutes of Davis, CA. My shop phone is (209) 365-9114.I have Spectra,Dacron and HMA line in stock and should have the full compliment of materials in 1-2 weeks. Mel would like me to take some of the strain off of him, so if you are on the west coast, give me a call.

    Thanks Jimmy Halliday

So Mac, if Joel just got laid for the first time and was pointing his unit at every 98.6 degree female and pestering them, would you go take the piss out of the person who had sex with him? The most productive path seem's actively taking him on as the young man who needs counciling and try to make a positive from a negative. I know Joel to be a reasonable dude, treat him like one, ok?
  22. What an A$$! I would not put much effort in worrying about his actions. You know, make your bed then get rescued from it.
