    Burn BASE #'s?

    I am thinking bounce BASE#,whoops(flame).
  3. John needs to go jump a span next so he can get BASE bounce. I would nominate him for #1 posthumosly if he can pull it off. Seriously , he needs to take up "extreem shuffleboarding".
  4. This guy is the same one that went in, in Vegas 4 days short of a year ago. He could barely walk yesterday, what was he doing climbing an A ?He said it was his birthday yesterday, I guess it will be one he remembers... sort of (420).
  5. From the phonecalls I am getting, if you go out to"caddilac", a nor cal "A",you can see him getting rescued right now!!!!!!!! He is hanging on a wire and the whole world is waiting for him. They say he is about 200' upand not getting down on his own
  6. Try Rigging Innovations,I've seen the lg ring/t17 combo from them.
  7. Night BASE 80,10-16 92, off the Big Stone, with NB 79......Chills to this day...
  8. "Are you ready?,Head back, cross your arms' and kick me in the butt! If you forget all this just smile at the camera guy and pretend you are having fun, no matter how BAD it hurts'.
  9. Use your left hand to control the material, middle finger holding what would be the center of the circle. DO NOT try to push the fabric into the binder too early, thinking you will "catch" more fabric. You only succeed in having the fabric move away from the needles sooner ,missing the right stitchline.Think of putting the cut edge in position at the center of the presser foot .Inside curves need to be straightened out as they enter the cheap binders, less so with right angle binders. Hope this helps.
  10. Can anyone explain why these canopies have slotted stabilizers, and if used as a main what sewing them shut would do?
  11. Sounds like a good deal, gettin more tail.I will have to make something up. I did a couple more flights and was trying too hard ,stalling flipping on my back and just actin' a fool. Avery told me to relax a bit, not stretch my legs as tight as possible and try to get some forward speed. I'll see what I can do....

    Wing Loading

That's funny, in a historical sort of way. The body weight plus 100 thing is something Bill Dause said 25 years ago about canopy sizing for skydiving. Oh, we were jumping Raven, Pegasus, Cloud, ect (Boxy low aspect 7-cell's) with good sink,on heading opening's and the older one's were built like a truck . Pete.
  13. I finaly flew my GTI with tip extentions today at lodi, a solo from 13k. Wow! the smoothness of feedback from the suit was the most dramatic enhancement I noticed. I haven't flown a suit in a year and felt right at home, T-hutch said I had an excellent exit and begining flight seen from the door.Turns were almost effortless by dipping a tip in the direction of turn. fun stuff, gotta go home!!! Pete.

    Wing Loading

I have many times advised,"I've wished for more square footage , but I can't think of time's I've wished for less". keep in mind this is toward the new kid's that think a 190 triathlon is a dog. Arguments could be made for higher wing loading at specific sites for penetration into wind . My old 260 Mojo is just about .75-.80.
  15. I was talking to a well respected climber yesterday and those TWO guys were brownnosing ranger's for whatever reason. One has disappeared and the other has "entered his own private hell" as a result of his actions. I miss Frank. Pete.

    Greenie . . .

With permission, the first person to claim a jump from Greenie,or FHB in my logbook is an Army Sp. Forces Ret. fellow named Ken Edsburg. He says that on Oct 14, 1973, he static-lined a 28' "LL" and landed in the water on purpose as that was the softest area....He said he had to "wait until they took the safety nets down, then I'll go". This I have heard first hand, so there you have it.
