Legalization of marijuana will free up LEO's to focus on actual dangerous drugs, like cocaine and heroin. My nephew is a drug cop. I was testing the CP RR lines in ND last year. Staying in Minot,ND. Fast food joints were paying up to $20.00 an hour and were having a hard time finding employees, due to the oil. Why? XL pipeline oil is to be exported out of the U.S.. The pipeline will do nothing to bring down gas prices. The BNSF currently has the contract to transport the oil from the ND oil fields. I see at least thirty trains each day coming down the the St.Croix and Aurora sub (I test the rails these trains run on.) Warren Buffet has the contract that was the Canadian Pacific RR. If the oil coming from ND has done nothing to relieve the stress at the pump, surely oil that is to be exported will do nothing. Violence is often viewed as entertainment. It is what sells movies and video games. Our culture in America is based on violence. Just listen to someone talk about the Feds taking their gun. How many times have we heard someone claim that they will use their gun if the government tries to take it? I say, "really?." How many will actually be willing to kill another American just to keep a gun? It's the culture of violence that many believe is their god given right. They talk about how the gun was instrumental in founding this country. How the gun made America great. Actually, it was nothing more than genocide in regards to the Indians. How many of us played cowboys and Indians as children? We need to change this ill-perceived notion that we can solve our problems with a gun. Now, I am a gun owner. I deer hunt. I no more wish to lose my rifle due to to violent nature of those who should never have a gun in the first place. I would use my gun to protect myself and family, if need be. However, I do see need to find a way to reduce the number of guns that get into the wrong hands. How? Maybe, by changing the culture in America from violent entertainment to a more nurturing society by instilling a more positive outlook on life. I had a 1975 E250 Ford van that did not qualify for the program. That's alright. I was able to part it out. $300.00 for the 300 six cylinder engine. $400.00 for the L-Bead rims and fairly new tires (hard to find and farmers love them.) $250.00 for the 9 inch rear end. $230.00 for the rest of it on the scale. I am assuming that you do not work on the railroad. In all of my years on the rails, I have seen a number of deaths. One that stands out the most was a suicide by train in Meridian,MS Back in 1991. An old man standing next to the crossing took several long steps to place himself in front of an Illinois Central locomotive that was rolling at 79mph. Splattered the back of my Sperry Rail Detector car with his blood and entrails. Not a pretty sight. Not one thing any person could do as it happened in the blink of an eye. I have tested the rails in the New York subways. There is not a snowball's chance in hell that I would jump from the platform in an attempt to save a person about to be ran down by a train. My wife and I live in one of the poorer counties in Missouri. Median household income is $38,800 (my income is just under $60,000.00. With my wife returning to work, we will go above $100,000.00.) A large portion of those in the county are on government assistence (food stamps, housing, welfare...) 90% of the county vote republican, are anti-union, anti-Obama, and are strictly religous conservative.
