  1. My good friend and skydiving buddy of 20 plus years passed away on May 30th. Jim was an instructor and tandem master. I was his practice dummy while he was learning to do tandems. Jim came down with ALS two years ago and wasn’t able to jump anymore or ride his motorcycle. The weakness in his limbs eventually kept him from driving his beloved Mustang GT. I will be releasing his ashes in freefall at Glidersports in Clinton MO in July. Jim sure will be missed as he was loved by all and never had a bad thing to say about anyone. 2. I’m glad for all who made it. Lost my mother to cancer 4 years ago and my best friend of 50 years three years ago. Glad you’re doing good.
  3. I went through surgery and radiation for colorectal cancer last year. Got two doctor appointments this week and then off to the drop zone. Both, surgery and radiation was painful but, I’m still here to jump another day.
  4. Found this album last year. Had a lot of time to do nothing while going through treatment (surgery and radiation) for the dreaded ass cancer (Colorectal.) Just some really good music. And some shameless self promotion of my own music. No vocals, just my guitar work. https://drive.google.com/file/d/1cPoTnLK3vHjAldUg9JuaNiwGAna8MgLD/view?usp=sharing And, one more of my own music. Sound quality got somewhat messed up but, posted it anyways.
  5. Even closer now. I've been in Houston all week. It's been a few years since I've jumped out there. Unfortunately, I don't have my rig with me. How have you been doing? Myself, doing better than last year. Couple of months of radiation treatment. Major pain in the ass (Colorectal.) They removed near 2 inches from the rectum up. It's kept me grounded. Hope to get jumping again soon.
  6. Haven't stopped by here in quite awhile. Place looks completely different. haven't jumped in just over a year, due to covid. Got my three shots. I'm in Alexandria, LA and heading to Galveston Island tomorrow. Got rail to inspect down there next week. I see there is a dropzone there but, always a but, it's a damn tandem mill. Thought about having my wife bring my rig down here. Oh well, guess I'll wait till I get back to Missouri. Hi Squeak!
  7. I saw my dog in the mirror, the other day. I’m pretty sure I saw god.
  8. Just last weekend, flying to Boise, as I brought my support snake on, someone rudely proclaimed “I have had it with these mother fucking support snakes on this mother fucking plane.” I sat down and put my headphones on and just ignored him. Lucky for him I had my support snake to keep me calm.
  9. I thought you were the joke! You always make me laugh. Most folks know me as a jokester. Us Christians make fun of a lot of stuff. Proverbs 17:22 New King James Version (NKJV) A merry heart does good, like medicine, But a broken spirit dries the bones. Progressive liberalism tends to break one's spirit. Yes, you so called friends of Jesus do make fun of a lot of stuff. Mostly people not like yourself. You are far from what the book you hold up preach. So is Putin and Trump. Putin is a killer and a brutal dictator. Trump is a liar, cheater and, a wannabe dictator. Hardly that what your book preach. You can toss out all of the Proverbs you can find to paste. They do not define you. Your words do and, they define you well. It is clear where your heart and beliefs lie. You idolize the likes of Trump. That is clear. There could be no God of peace and love that would approve of Trump, Putin and, Kim Jong Un. How can you? 10. Ahhh... just like Chump, you know words, you have the best words! "...And once you're gone, you can't come back When you're out of the blue and into the black." Neil Young
  11. I thought you were the joke! You always make me laugh. "...And once you're gone, you can't come back When you're out of the blue and into the black." Neil Young
  12. Haven't been on DZ for quite awhile. Still jumping and working. Besides that, I have been recording some of the stuff in my head Thought I would post a couple of links to my stuff for constructive feedback. I am the sole player on both pieces. Two tracks, one rhythm and one for lead. I do make use of pedals to create the tones. In the future I will be adding drum tracks as I just ordered an Alesis Nitro electronic drum set. Hope you enjoy https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_AZtDfFQvKU https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iwpkjRqOqaw "...And once you're gone, you can't come back When you're out of the blue and into the black." 13. Interesting. http://www.washingtonpost.com/news/wonkblog/wp/2015/06/18/11-essential-facts-about-guns-and-mass-shootings-in-the-united-states/ "...And once you're gone, you can't come back When you're out of the blue and into the black." Neil Young
  14. It has been this way for over 200 years in this country. It is glamorized. We are raised on it. We watch it in movies, play it on video games and deny it is our culture. Shootings are everywhere and they impact each and everyone of us. We all pay the price directly or indirectly. I really do not know what to think. On one hand, I despise guns. On the other, I enjoy shooting targets and deer hunting. I bought a 9mm sub-compact for my wife due to the increase in break ins around the area. She does have a conceal carry permit. I would not be able to live should I not allow a weapon in the house and she was killed by an intruder. This is a case of protection in the house. We do not carry a gun when we go out. Maybe we should. The last family member who was killed by a gun happened more than 50 years ago outside of Las Vegas. Mother's uncle was a mobster and met a bitter end in the desert. That is somewhat understandable. You deal in bad shit, you will be dealt bad shit. I cannot, however, wrap my head around Lexi's murder or the murder of others who are merely there. "...And once you're gone, you can't come back When you're out of the blue and into the black." Neil Young
  15. No, nor is that a realistic expectation. Generally you would look for ways to reduce, not prevent gun crime. As long as there are guns there will always be such pain. I am a gun owner. I am at a loss for words. "...And once you're gone, you can't come back When you're out of the blue and into the black." Neil Young
  16. Really do not have much to say as this incident takes a back seat to what happened to my brother's granddaughter (at least, in my family.) http://www.stltoday.com/news/local/crime-and-courts/eureka-police-retrace-final-hours-before-murder-suicide-of-woman/article_629c8738-120c-5e06-b4c2-f930f7cae500.html My sister, Kim, raised my brother's daughter, Tabitha (the mother of Lexi,) after his wife left with and then abandoned their children. Kevin fought to get them back but, the court felt otherwise. Kevin continued to support his children and saw them on a regular basis. I cannot fathom the reason why the grandmother, Colleen, would do such a thing to Lexi. Lexi's mother, Tabitha, has not been in her life for a couple of years (heroin addiction.) Kim's daughter, Amber, had hoped to adopt Lexi. I do not blame it on the gun. I blame the mental health system and the availability of the gun to mentally ill people. I have no idea where or how Colleen got the gun. She may have owned it for years. She has been in and out of mental healthcare for years. Being that is the case, she easily slipped through the crack that is apparent in the system. I am just sick to my stomach and heart broken. My feelings are this kind of behavior will only get worst and there are no answers in sight. "...And once you're gone, you can't come back When you're out of the blue and into the black." Neil Young
  17. Dived here years ago while in the Navy http://www.divebuddy.com/divesite/1849/grande-island-philippines/ "...And once you're gone, you can't come back When you're out of the blue and into the black." Neil Young
  18. Fly Free in Festus. Mark Cook is the owner. Good people. Say hello to Terry Wendt. "...And once you're gone, you can't come back When you're out of the blue and into the black." Neil Young
  19. I thought I was being pretty clear. You do realize that the "Dead Cop" chant was faked by Fox News, do you not? These two officers were off duty and in street clothes at the time of the shooting. Very good chance that the shooters did not know of their occupation. Never the less, the shooter will be charged more harshly than if it was just an "ordinary" citizen. "...And once you're gone, you can't come back When you're out of the blue and into the black." Neil Young
  20. http://www.nationalmemo.com/only-43-8-percent-of-military-identify-as-republican-down-from-56-percent-in-2005/ Your statement is asinine. For the record, 80-84, Navy, HT 2nd Class, USS Okinawa LPH-3, Democrat at time of discharge. I know quite a number more who have served and who are serving now. The military is made up of people from all parties. I would suspect that some change parties while serving. I suspect that most identified with no party whatsoever when joining as a teenager. I didn't. Basically, the poll in the link is flawed. The only question asked should had been "Party affiliation at time of enlistment." 21. God, so atrocious in the Old Testament, so attractive in the New--the Jekyll and Hyde of sacred romance. - Mark Twain, Notebook, 1904 "...And once you're gone, you can't come back When you're out of the blue and into the black." Neil Young
  22. And this is different tan any other day how? and this is different from any other religion how? As I stated " (as other religions do)." "...And once you're gone, you can't come back When you're out of the blue and into the black." Neil Young
  23. http://www.newsweek.com/2015/01/02/thats-not-what-bible-says-294018.html I do not believe in the bible as the word of some god and his kid yet, I have read it. I have understood that the whole book is flawed as it contradicts itself throughout. As the article points out, Christians have a tendency to cherry pick and leave the rest out. They tend (as other religions do) to use their personal interpretation other than, what they claim to be, the inerrant word of the god they worship. "...And once you're gone, you can't come back When you're out of the blue and into the black." Neil Young
  24. So, we can assume, from your perspective, morality is determined by the basic fear of going to Hell. That is religion. "...And once you're gone, you can't come back When you're out of the blue and into the black." Neil Young
  25. So, Jeebus is against a free market? Likes to maintain a monopoly? Gets so enraged that he goes about, physically, beating the crap out of the competition. How christ-like. "...And once you're gone, you can't come back When you're out of the blue and into the black." Neil Young
