  1. Too big I have a GPSMAP 76CSX and planned to use it with a remote antenna (glued to helmet) and use it for genral trekking. It works great for trekking but simply not worth the effort for wing suits IMO. I used an Edge 305/205 and they worked well for me. Also used one of the foretrex units...and the WBT 201 units. My favorite GPS unit for wingsuit use is the edge. Kris
  2. To add to what Jarno said(most of what I say is in the sticky). As long as the suits have large area, they will fly well both for glide and time. Its just that a suit with a balance like the S8 and V suits makes it easy for the pilot to fly for distance. Kris
  3. That is a very narrow minded statement. The V suit lost last year to the M1. It is great news for the wingsuit community that Bird-man has decided to take the S8 in this direction. Kris.
  4. Angle control(pitch) comes from the core(torso). Kris
  5. is it still www.eg-suits.com instead of www.egsky.com? Kris

  7. I still can't get past seeing "yuri_base", knowing this is not *the* BASE Yuri. Don't see a problem with yuri_base. He is affectionately known as the fake Yuri
  8. Nice looking suits. Kris
  9. What's the value of this for us? Shut the fuck up fool. You ain't Listening Kris
  10. I offered to send other units...I have 3 sitting here that I am not going to use again. Will drop one in the mail when I get my act together. It uses USB so no more complaints about European things Kris
  11. In theory it should. L/D = Cl/Cd and Cl and Cd are only dependent on shape is Aero 101 thinking. Drag is made up of Shape dependent and Lift dependent components. In practice, L/D is better in the lower atmosphere(BASE flight altitudes). However, it is not possible to say that this is because of the denser air alone. Kris
  12. I had GPSed a few jumps from the GTI from 23kish but I was flying for time(you know blah blah blah) more those days. The degradation is not that significant around 18K I am guessing just from feel. Kris
  13. Hi Nico, Thanks for the comments. Can you post some pictures of the suit? Kris.
  14. Do something that will allow you to make money, lots of money. Kris
  15. Mikoyan Gurevich didn´t believe in surface area. He thought that speed generates lift I assume... Check the picture. http://www.airforce.ru/aircraft/mikoyan/mig-21/mig-21smt/index.htm (I don´t know how to make this clicky...) And how does that relate to gliding(unpowered) flight?
  16. Other things being equal, Bigger is better. Kris.
  17. Yeah so am I. I am just stirring the pot . Kris.
  18. C'mon PFBoy(oops VectorBoy ), you know it is just a matter of size and balance. Undoubtedly, the ghost(or any suit with that size and balance) would make flocking easier in slower(forward) flocks. The unique thing about all PF suits that have inflatable wings is that they are shape weighted than inflation weighted. No, this is not a rant . What does that mean? Take a look at any number of V2*, Phantom and ghost pics and it is obvious. No other suits wings look like that when inflated. The top and bottom surfaces are not distorted by bulges in between the ribs. The contours of the surfaces follow a specific shape... I prefer flying a properly inflated(maybe even overly so) wing, but I am more interested in preserving my shoulders for old age than flying to the max. Don't believe me? Just ask someone that has seen the hacking I have done to my V2. I have to acknowledge(due to the performance of the phantom that I owned) at the same time that the shape over inflation works when the inflation is just right. Kris. *The V1 wings inflate with bulges between the ribs when fully inflated.
  19. I jump a Sab2 170. I think it is a sensible enough canopy for any 170lb ish person to be jumping. Don't expect the chicks to dig it though . Kris.
  20. I've see this kind of advise repeated ad nauseam on these forums. Nothing wrong with that. I would like to see advise on what a newbie can do proactively to work towards learning the skills needed to jump a wingsuit. Maybe even make it a sticky in this forum. Any wingsuit instructors up for that job? Kris.
  21. O.k I'll order my new Tony suit in Pink then kris.
  22. Don't care about color as long as the suit inflates. When I get back to London, I'll post pics of what I did to my current suit. It looks fugly but atleast it inflates a bit better. The mesh didn't arrive due to the postal stike so I used the non business end of a screw . Kris.
  23. I figured out I don't need a visa for Switzerland. I'll try to make it. Try to fly the best suit ever. 6'2" and 170 if you are reading Tony . Can someone post which airport to travel to...etc. ? The link posted by the fish is in some language I cannot read. Kris.
  24. You mean from really flying to falling to actually flying . Kris.
