  1. The same could be said of most cosmetic surgery, but nonetheless... Elvisio "only in Vegas, baby'" Rodriguez
  2. They're gonna make MILLIONS... http://news.yahoo.com/photos/hangover-heaven-aids-vegas-revelers-slideshow/emergency-medical-technician-debra-lund-checks-flow-iv-photo-075151536.html Wildcard451: look me up when you're ready to open one of these! Elvisio "would need to polish up the IV skills though" Rodriguez
  3. Just MINUTES after I post this, I find the following: http://news.yahoo.com/blogs/envoy/north-korea-issues-unusually-specific-threat-152720861.html Which includes the following quote: "The North Korean military threatened to "reduce all the rat-like groups and the bases for provocations to ashes in three or four minutes, (or) in much shorter time, by unprecedented peculiar means and methods of our own style."" Peculiar means? I'm guessing something is lost in the translation. Otherwise, they sound completely bonkers. All I can think of is the pic attached... ETA: Is that Shah? Elvisio "another failed attempt at political analysis" Rodriguez
  4. Consider the intent. Elvisio "how many times did the US and Soviet missle programs blow up stuff on the pad?" Rodriguez
  5. None so far. I want more and more everyday to get one, but at the same time I can't find anything I'm comfortable having on my body for the rest of my life. I dig your idea about your tats being the story of your life, but OTOH I remember back to tattoos I ALMOST got, and now am SO VERY GLAD I never had put on my body. I also understand that now it's a bit of a "40-year-old-virgin" thing: I've built it up to such a big deal that I'll probably never get one done. Elvisio "Virgin WRT tattoos only, thank you very much you arseholes" Rodriguez
  6. In the US, she would own the company, the hotel, and the guy's house. Elvisio "hell in a handbasket" Rodriguez
  7. In EMS and emergency healthcare one learns that this is a MUCH more common situation than our culture would like to believe. Elvisio "many are younger" Rodriguez
  8. So, your first post mentions five days a week. A later post mentions 12-hour shifts. Does this mean you'll be working FIVE 12-hour shifts each week? If so, fuck that. I love nursing becuase it's usually 12 hour shifts. Most places will give you full time benefits at 3 12-hour shifts a week. That's four days off each week. I currently work 24 hour shifts, two shifts every eight days. It IS very sweet, but brings with it some significant drawbacks. Anyway, back on topic: go for the happiness over money. Elvisio "been on both sides of the fence" Rodriguez
  9. Asking an "English grammar question" on Dizzy.com is like going to finishing school in a whorehouse. Elvisio "Pinkys out, even during the big finish" Rodriguez
  10. Bravo! On oldy but goody. I knew EXACTLY what pic you had posted before I even clicked on it... Elvisio "that and the army dude offering a big cup of shut the fuck up" Rodriguez
  11. "You know, Mrs. Buckman, you need a license to buy a dog, or drive a car. Hell, you need a license to catch a fish! But they'll let any butt-reaming asshole be a father." ---Parenthood (1989) Elvisio "facepalm" Rodriguez
  12. At least it wasn't Zima... Elvisio "the 90s were a confusing time" Rodriguez
  13. From the quality of their touch-typing, we should be impressed they're even still conscious! Elvisio "heading to the same destination, just via a different, wine-based pathway" Rodriguez
  14. Corporate sponsorship by UPS? Elvisio "THAT'S why my packages are always trashed..." Rodriguez
  15. My first thought: no. Second thought: BUT, if the million dollars was right there in my face, it might be tough to say no. Third thought: BUT, if THEN the dick was right there in my face, it might be tough to say yes. Elvisio "everyone has a price. Mine is, as yet, undetermined" Rodriguez
  16. Never answered the door, but have "patrolled" the place a couple times after hearing people on the property or unexpected late night sounds. Good news: never found anything suspicious. Even better news: apparently the sight of her mostly-naked husband creeping through the house, being all protective, and checking every dark corner with a loaded .45 is a bit of a turn-on for Mrs. Elvisio. Getting back into bed has been quite entertaining on a couple occasions! Elvisio "heh heh, something DID go 'bump in the night' " Rodriguez ETA: I'm afraid someday my wife is going to find out I'm paying the neighbors to wander through the property every so often!
  17. Wendy's QUOTE OF THE YEAR. Elvisio "and the year ain't over yet" Rodriguez
  18. Just on a whim, I went to my dz.com email account to see what was there. Only two email messages, both old "sent" messages, most recent one sent in 2005. ...guess nobody loves me ... Elvisio "I'm a lover, not a writer" Rodriguez
  19. Pfft... they don't have any really poisonous snakes in Austrailia anyway, do they? Elvisio "if the snake slithered across his lap, does that make it a trouser snake?" Rodriguez
  20. I live in the desert, and one of my partners from work (a horse owner) was complaining about how the cost of hay (priced per bale) is going up and up. So apparently, the cost of automobile fuel is also affecting the cost of horse-fuel! Elvisio "at least I don't have to follow my car around with a shovel" Rodriguez
  21. Sounds... friggin'... awesome! Will this include deleting posts stating the usual "it's X's fault" and posts which immediately devolve to canned "blame the republicans" or "blame the democrats" crap? So many threads here are lost so quickly because people immediately begin finger-pointing rather than actually discussing a topic. Elvisio "bring it on" Rodriguez
  22. One more for the wolfpack... Elvisio "howl at the moon.... NOT THAT MOON, DAMMIT!" Rodriguez
  23. Yeah, but they're JOBS. They're the jobs our parents would talk about working "to put themselves through college." They're the swing-shift, low-tech kind of jobs that provided little job satisfaction but WOULD allow someone to bring home a paycheck, while doing something else to improve themselves. With that first step taken out of the ladder, someone trying to get started takes a look at that huge first step and thinks to themself "meh, may as well stay where I am, it's too hard to get on the ladder." Elvisio "lifetime student" Rodriguez
  24. China is already there, and has been for several years. We're the only ones who don't know it yet... Elvisio "at least eating with chopsticks is fun" rodriguez
  25. I won't even dip my toe into the "who's the REAL captain of the Enterprise" argument, but there is NO arguing against the fact that as far as poontang was concerned, Kirk got YARDS more pussy. Elvisio "for Kirk the saying went 'it's all green on the inside'" Rodriguez
