  6. Posted this in the other thread about Curiosity (sorry about not searching before starting a new one... ) Hey, I thought I read somewhere that the SciFi channel was going to be broadcasting the landing live from NASA. Apparently, I both misread and grossly overestimated the SciFi channel. I found where it will be simulcast online: http://mars.jpl.nasa.gov/msl/ But I'm at work for 24 hours so if we go on a call I'll miss it. Does anyone know of it being broadcast on TV? That way I can DVR it, just in case. Thanks! Elvisio "Star Runners? Really, SciFi? WTF is that?" Rodriguez

  8. Waddaya think? http://news.yahoo.com/blogs/sideshow/earth-mars-rover-curiosity-landed-205422579.html The video is a good watch, but it sure makes it seem like there are a lot of pretty awesome things that need to work perfectly for it to work. I'll be DVRing it. No spoilers! Elvisio "my vote: Houston we have a problem." Rodriguez
  9. Zumba. BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAH! Elvisio "couldn't do it" Rodriguez
  10. Awesome pic, great article with other pics. First time in a long time I've pulled my Parachutist out of the mailbox and stared at it slackjawed. Elvisio "glad to see two of my hobbies coming together" Rodiguez
  11. We're going to be occupado during the time it's showing, but I'll prolly set the DVR. I must admit I was pretty impressed by China's opening ceremony four years ago. We shall see what London brings to the fight. Elvisio "flying teacups?" Rodriguez
  12. Great, great, great memory for me: the first time I saw this video was sometime around 2003 or 2004, at Blue Sky Adventures, shown to everyone there by Paul Rafferty, on his laptop. Great times, great people, great dropzone. It has been a long time since I've had one of those days. ...I gotta work on that. Blue Skies, Paul! Take it easy up there! Elvisio "that video's an oldie but a goodie" Rodriguez
  13. You don't have to keep it hidden. You can just tell me when you're ready. She said HANDSOME doctor. Elvisio "" Rodriguez
  14. The lego skydiver is cool, but I thought the bottle is TRULY a work of art. Un-be-frickin-lievable. And WRT the button: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ku2wFaaPAzI Elvisio "proud member of the Royal Canadian Kilted Yaksmen" Rodriguez
  15. That's awesome! The less-than-perfect English (though WAY better than my Spanish will ever be, so I can't call him out for it) makes it even more believable, makes it seem like you're just sitting around a bar listening to some guy rant and rave into his beer, instead of reading an article. Elvisio "fuck off, pull now so we cannot see your ugly face any more around: EPIC!" Rodriguez
  16. Learn from my mistake: I was running 10K pretty solidly prior to my running of the Tough Mudder in my area, a 20K race. I told myself that we'd me walking a lot of it, and waiting a lot in line for the obstacles, so the extra distance woudl be manageable. Well... What I failed to realize is that 20K is 20K. It was twice the distance that I was used to and ended up with injuring my left foot, most likely a stress fracture. I'm still working my way back from it six months later. I'm not saying this to discourage you, by any means. Go for it! Just make sure your body (and I mean all of it) can handle the distance to which you are committing yourself. Later! Elvisio "da gimp, but not the DZ.com dagimp" Rodriguez
  17. OKAY! So here it is: I'm waaaaaaaay too buzzed for a, what is it... TUESDAY night, I have NOTHING to do tomorrow so the hangover will NOT be an issue, and there is nobody here but me right now so LET'S GET LOOOOOOOOUUUUUUUUUUUUD! Elvisio "tap the bottle and twist the cap" Rodriguez
  18. I like the typo/Freudian slip both because of your screen name AND the movie popcorn reference. Although probably not intentional... well played, sir. Elvisio "bringing entropy to the conversation, one thread at a time" Rodriguez
  19. Harness Hickey is a good one. When I started, I always used to get them on my inner thighs from the leg straps (thank you, Sabre 1) so I called them love bites. Elvisio "TMI" Rodriguez

    MegaBus?

Wow, $19 each way is hard to say no to. I'd drink more than 19 bucks worth of coffee going that far, never mind gas. I only rode the bus once, Erie - Toronto - Erie (6 hours, direct, no stops) to visit some friends. Definitely met some strange characters. I was never afraid, but I'm a decent sized dude. I also wouldn't be TOO worried about my wife traveling alone, but only because she took MMA lessons for years and could kick my ass ten times over before I even threw my first punch, so I know she'd be able to handle herself. But a younger, not-similarly-trained lady? I can understand your concerns. Does she carry pepper spray? Is it allowed on buses? Elvisio "that'd be one way to clear out a confined space like a bus interior FAST" Rodriguez
