Ground crew need to be smart and heads up. They must be able to effectively handle a vehicle for quick effcient get aways and they must be able to keep cool when things are moving fast. They must able to handle a radio or cell phone in a crisis (not everyone can do that) and equally important, they must be able to keep quiet about the jump when they return to the D.Z. so as not to blab to the more reckless jumper who might other wise blow the sight. Good ground crew is worth their weight in gold or at least worth the fines a jumper might pay if caught

Getting married is cheap. Getting divorced is expensive. Maybe a better way to say this would have been to say if your marriage is cheap then your divorce will be expencive. If your marriage is worth little or nothing then that is all it will ever be. those who enter into marriage lightly will undoubtedly end up divorced and who the hell wants that?

I think that the hiring of hookers /strippers is a tradition that has held over from our parents and grand parents days. Back then, sex was not quite so available as it is today and a person had to go to much greater lengths to see the things that we take for granted. Today sex is every where on the internet T.V. movies ect... Don't get me wrong I'm not complaining. There are two schools of thought when it comes to bachelor parties. The first seems to be a test of the grooms fidelity. Making sure that he is truly ready for marriage and monogamy. The second school of thought is that the bachelor party is the grooms last chance to have sex with another woman. Personally, I think both of these ideas suck. I don't want my friends who are not ready for marriage, to second guess my choices in life by dangling raw meat in front of me as a way to test or destroy something wonderful. Especially when I don't even like raw meat any more In fact I would not call that kind of person a friend. To me a bachelor party is kind of like blowing cigarette smoke in the face of some one who has just quit smoking and quit because they really wanted to and not because some one told them they should. I have been to a bachelor party with strippers/ hookers and I thought it was stupid. I think most of us in attendance felt the same way. The Party was in full swing and I was enjoying a beer and talking to a friend. The conversation went something like this. "So Bob, the other day I was walking down the street blaa blaa blaa and...Hey look. those two women on the floor are playing with dildos. Hummm... fancy that. So any way, I was walking down the street....." If the man is truly in love and ready to devote himself to a woman for the rest of his life, then a bachelor party with hookers/strippers is really just an excuse his friends will use to throw a party so that they can have hookers or strippers. These are just my thoughts and I welcome other opinions

I know detail are few but I have to say that this fatality thread is the tinnest I have ever seen. who was the jumper? Who were his mentors? How many other were on the load? Was it day or night? what make of rig was he jumping? Is there any thing more to learn from this? I'm not trying to be morbid or anything I just think more should be said. Kevin

I my self am a big boy. 6'3" 260lbs with out gear. I have not found any real difference in actuall inflation times, But I can say that I try not t take any longer than a 2 slider off or else I get spanked HARD. It takes more energy to stop someone my size than it does to stop someone smaller I'm guessing Are the openings the same "softness" that they always were while I was jumping smaller canopys (265 and up) and is the fact that is seems to hurt more just an effect of getting older or has the "hardness" of the opening increased due to the larger size? I don't know I susspect, but have not yet proven, that because the canopy is so much larger, it must weight more, and there for, requires more force to extract it from the container and could possible extend the amount of time untill it reaches line stretch. As I said before, I have not yet proven this theory. Because if this I am staying on the side of caution and have not yet jumped from 300 feet or less with smaller then 46" pc while others have used 42". I would not say that the larger canopys have any more or less forward speed on opening than their smaller counter parts. I have left any thing out please let me know

Either everyone is being tight lipped about the scarry things they have found in reserves or none of you have actually found any scarry things. Which is it??? If your being tight lipped why? What does shock value have to do with any thing? Shocking can be very educational. If you have come across something and you have decided not to talk about it because it' nothing more than "shock value" then that's BS. What about the new rigger who reads this post and learns something that he or she might other wise have missed. What if you have info that could prevent a fatality? If you decide not to talk about something you have found then IMO that is trully shocking
