  1. I once woke up to find that my female St Bernard was hiding her favorite slime covered raw hide chew bone under my pillow. I'm guessing she was doing that so that my other two male St Bernards wouldn't find it. I guess she thought I would look after it for her. At first I was pissed, but then, well she's just too damn cute to stay mad at.
  2. 90 Degree out side corner This is a skill that takes a lot of practice to master but like anything else, once you master it producing professional quality work becomes as easy as tying your shoe. Please note. Usually it is much easier to make the top 45 degree fold of the binding tape look nice than it is the bottom so having said that, always try to make sure that you are binding with what will be the finished side up Begin binding as required by the appropriate starting point, meaning, select a starting point that is less likely to be visible once the product is finished. Sew up to BUT NOT OFF of the edge of the material as shown in picture #1. Next, advance the needles by manually rotating the hand wheel bringing the needles all the way out of the material, and continue until they just touch the binding tape. This should be exactly a one stitch distance in front of the raw edge. Next, rotate the hand wheel in reverse until you notice that the tension has been taken off the threads. Next, place your pick tool in between the now folded tape at the edge of the raw material, as shown in picture 2. Next gently hold the bottom portion of the tape in place by pinning it against the feed dog teeth. With a slight “flick” of the tool, push the top portion of the tape slightly upwards while still holding the bottom portion of the tape in place and rotate the material 90 degrees until the raw edge is positioned in the binder. Picture 3 Dress the 45 degree fold by sliding the tool inside the fold only as needed to achieve the 45 degree angle and lower the pressure foot. Continue sewing. Note that the corner should not appear to be “rounded” when finished but rather have a nice point to it picture #5
  3. Sorry it has taken so long to post these. I hope that my explanations of the steps are clear to all but, in the event they are not, just let me know and I’ll try again. Each of the techniques I will show are done using two different colored layers of cordura, I did this so that the two layers would stand out from one another and hopefully make the explanations more clear. The two layers have been cut at the same time using a hot knife in order to sear the edges together. This helps the binding process by preventing the two layers from slipping. In many cases, a straight stitch (in addition the hot knifed edge) is used to hold the plies together. This is done when the two plies of material are expected be pulled upon in different directions during the products use. A prime example if this would be a main D-bag or a side flap of a harness container I will post several more methods to over come the various binding challenges in a few moments. I will post them in their own threads so that I can get all of the pictures up loaded. To those who care, I hope this helps Kevin Turning 90 degree inside corner. Start Binding tape on material as shown in picture 1. When the 90 degree inside corner approaches the binding attachment, fold the material that is extending to the right straight up and over so that it extends to the left as shown in picture 2. NOTE… THE UNDER SIDE OF THE MATERIAL WILL THEN BE FACING UP Sew UP TO but NOT THROUGH the folded edge leaving the needles in the material. For the best results leave the needles in material on their upward stroke. PICTURE 3.NOTE… DO NOT STICH INTO THE RAW FOLDED EDGE OF THE MATERIAL. Next, raise the pressure foot. Rotate the folded edge of the material so that the top side is now facing up and position the material so that the raw edge is placed into the binder and proceed sewing. picture 4. NOTE…SOME (not too much) PUCKERING IS EXPECTED. Sorry
  4. There was something done out at Perris a few years back but the action took place on the ground out by the canal. I think the "story" went something like this. Some hottie is skydiving and lands out next a bus load of convicts who are picking up trash or some shit. You can guess the rest for your self
  5. Your point brings up another interesting point. How is it that much of the arab world is living in what the west would consider poverty when their govenments are sitting on some of the largest oil reserves on the planet? How is that Possible. I often wonder why so much animosity is directed at the western world when there seems to be a justification for directing it at their own government.
  6. Sorry SkyDekker I suppose I did not make my request clear, I asked for an informed academic opinion refuting the claims of the author based on data collected during those periods. Not just another DZ.com opinion. (No offense intended) Surely there has to be a study done by someone on the opposing side of this issue. As I said before, I'm not trying to glib, I am simply trying to understand both sides of the issue. I believe you mentioned something about face value. well that is exactly my point. Where is the data to the contrary? What and Who exactly should we believe when faced with no conclusive evidence opposing those conclusions? Non-resident types who seemingly have only recently tuned into these issues following the U.S actions taken after 9-11? Or better yet. How about a group of goof ball skydivers? (a group to which I proudly belong) Or worse yet the media? F#$@ that. So again I ask. Will some one please allow me the opportunity to view the other side with out handing me they're opinion or will it simply be more hart felt beliefs not backed up with facts? Come on Biilvon. You seem capable of helping. Hook a brotha up
  7. I'm Still looking forward to reading the opposing view point from an informed source countering that which Mr Huessy wrote. I'm not being glib, I'd really like to view both sides of the issue. That is if there are two sides to it. I'll be away from the computer for a while so if you find one don't expect an immediate resoponse
  8. Speaking of "best for the job"... Could we perhaps see a Rice/Powell ticket for 2008? - Two eminently qualified people (& the squirm factor for The Democrats would be incredible). Mike. I think Powell would be hard to beat, but I'm not sure that this nation is ready to put a black woman one hart beat from the top slot. There are just too many narrow minded red necks out there. No offence meant to the narrow minded red necks who might just read this of course
  9. I have checked out Peter Huessys other writings and yes he appears to to right of center. That being said, I would be very interested to read an assessment on the same topic, events and time period written by a Geostratigic analyst (or equivilent) who is more to the left of center. I wonder how different the assesements would be. Can some one please find and post an equally well thought out, time, date, and event supported opposing view of Mr Huessy's topic Thanks
  10. Go google Peter Huessy. Go read some of the other stuff he has written. in the interest of fairness, I will. But I ask you. What in his statements do you find false?. I of course am no Geostrategic analyst. Are you?
  11. Your argument held some water until this. Are you saying that WWII was a black eye in the face of the US? Does being attacked by a country and having others declare war make a person/country not peace-loving? Paaalease. Actually I didn't for get about Korea. I was just trying to make the case that both sides have used the sword not just Republicans. But let me address your other question. Had some one kept a watchfull eye on Germany after WW1 and had some one acted premtivly to reduce Germanys re-newed war making capabilitys then things would have been much different
  12. The truly sad part is that many will not take the time to read the last post. They will instead continue to hold on to their hart felt beliefs regardless of the facts
  13. Sorry, forgot a few. FDR-WW2 Wilson WW1 Both Democrats
  14. interesting that the so called murders you listed are/were all Democrats. Lets not forgot old Ted Kennedy. I'm sure that his name belongs on that list. I thought that only republicans where war mongering murders and democrats where the more peace loving of the two parties At least that's what the media keeps telling me. Then again, who was it that sent troops into Vietnam? Wasn't it one of the most revered Democratic presidents in modern history JFK? Funny how things change. Don't ya think?
  15. nice One Bill. I like it. How much and where might I find one?

  20. Oops just remembered that I dont have the cable to down load the pics. Sorry I will send the original poster a PM Kevin
  21. Actually this practice is very easy using a binder. I will take some pics of how to do it and I'll post them in a little while Kevin
  22. Why does it seem that only the dumbasshats are the only ones that travel outside the US make us all look stupid... Smart people travel from the U.S. all the time with out being noticed. After all how note worthy is it to see some one minding their own business? Often it is the remarkably beautiful or the remarkably stupid that seem out of place and gets noticed.
