QuoteI have: worked in a furniture warehouse (moving heavy stuff) worked heavy construction (moving heavy stuff) ran cable through hot attics in the dead of summer worked in a block plant ( yet more heavy stuff) worked on cellular telephone towers (climbing hundreds, sometimes thousands of feet per day) worked in steel fab shops ( again, lots of heavy stuff) framed houses in the dead of summer Packing parachutes is the hardest job I have ever had, and I've had some seriously shitty jobs.[/repl I've had many of the same jobs you've had and I can say that while packing is hard work, it does pay well (better than most of the jobs listed above) it also allows you a level of independence not found in many occupations. It is a great job for a young person

I dont think the fact that you have missed the point is lost on anyone

Unfortunately the old Maxim "the enemy of my enemy is my friend" still holds true. It did then and it does today. The US supported Sadam in an attempt to keep Iraq from becoming an islamic state like Iran and Iran was openly hostile to the U.S. Remember the hostage situation? If some one else wants to fight the battle for you then let them do it. Good policy? Debatable to be sure but nearly every country in the world has done it at one time or another

I admit that there was much more about Norway that I liked than what I disliked. The landscape is incredible and the people are great. No doubt the place is cool. (Especially in winter) While I was in Norway, I read an article in a Norwegian news paper about a group of young adults that had gone on some sort of hedonistic pleasure cruise some where else in the world. Not Norway. Apparently, some photos had gotten out and that's when the trouble started. The young Norwegian adults were being charged with lewd behavior because their actions were against Norwegian law even though it was not against the law where the cruise took place. I left before I could find out what the outcome of that was. either way I think its a bit intrusive. Now I don't smoke pot. If I go to Amsterdam, I know I can (if I wanted) smoke a joint and come back to the good old U.S.A and not worry about what will happen to me because I smoked pot in a country where it is legal.

Picture this. A man is running around town killing people and taking their stuff. He has said openly that if he gets a chance, he will try to kill you. In fact, he has actually tried and failed to kill some one in your family. If the only way to make him stop is to kill him, then is it really "two wrongs"? What better way did you have in mind. How about U.N sanctions? Oh wait that didn't work. Did it? Perhaps we should have asked nicely. That would have sorted everything out.

No I think he must be talking about all the Kurds and the people in Kuwait not to mention all the others Sadam murdered
-
Ya know it seems to me if some one had premetivly taken care of Hilter Like the U.S did with Sadam, the world would be a much different place don't you think? I know that the U.S went in under what now appears to be bad intel but honestly, tell me that the majority of the people in Iraq are worse off for it. How dare we hand the Iraqs the ability to govern their own destiny? We should have left them under the thumb of that sadistic dictator and his two lunitic sons. What were we thinking?

Oh how terrible the U.S. is? We should all be self loathing, Michel Moore loving ex patriots. Fuck that!!!! Ya know Sky rad, I was watching A fish called Wanda the other day and after reading this thread started by you, I can't help but to recall one of the lines in the movie. "If it weren't for the U.S. you'd be speaking German right now." How soon the memory fades

Too bad we can't get any of that here. Oh wait. On second thought....

Perhaps you could add this choice to your poll selections. I'm proud to be an American and I wish everyone would stop trying to make me feel bad about it.

Last year while in Norway, I was attending a party when suddenly, the cops showed up, grabed several people out of the crowd and pissed tested them right there and then. I thought to my self, I guess I'm not in kansas anymore. The rest of the world is a nice place to visit, but I'm not sure I'd want to live there
