  1. It matters not what his name is or who he worships. His actions cannot be overlooked because he is a muslim. He'll get what he deserves unless the bleeding hearts get involved. I only hope that his punishment fits his crime
  2. That might be a bit too Roman don't you think?
  3. Count his career over. The populous does not want to hear the truth
  4. CNN just reported that the man spit on her for opposing the war. WRONG. Opposition to a war is O.K. siding with the enemy is not
  5. She did not just oppose the war in Vietnam, she sided with the NVA and did so by traveling to Hanoi Vietnam. She fraternizied with the enemy by allowing her self to be photographed smiling, laughing, and giving the thumbs up to NVA troops while she sat in an anti aircraft gun used to shoot down US pilots.
  6. [there was an unstable 'sale' sign that guys would lean on . Is this the sale to take them to when they are acting unstable?
  7. the war was wrong. It was wrong. Some have made the argument that while Vietnam was a vastly unpopular war, it did serve a purpose in that it demonstrated that the US was not going to allow communisim free reign across he globe. Not my words, but I'm sure I'm going to be cooked for them any way. The above notion reminds me of some thing I learned as a kid in elementary school. If a kid at school starts picking on you, you have to get in his face right away even if it means getting your ass kicked. Why? Because the kid will always remember that you would not lay down and he will think twice before taking you on a second time. I believe that had a lot to do with what Vietnam was really all about. Oh yea, back on topic. Fuck Jane Fonda. she was and is a traitor. How dare she bask in the glow of her .U.S. made celebrity while denigrating those who fought and died for freedom. As for her apology, I accept it so much so that she can keep breathing but that is as far as my generosity for her goes. Flame away lefty
  8. Nicely done. I think you have hit the nail on the head.
  9. One day I was out hiking when suddenly I heard what sounded like a million bullets wizzing over my head. I looked up to see bees so thick I could not see the sky. Having nowhere to run, I just stood there motion less until they had all flown away. After wards, I went to convenience store and bought a lottery ticket but no dice. I had already used most of my luck for that day
  10. - Jim This is just more right wing propaganda. Lies, lies, all lies I tell you. But then again... maybe these folks aren't the racist rednecks they have been made out to be by the media. Who knew?
  11. Thats catchy may I use it some time?
  12. Heard a quote once. Lets see hows that go? Oh yea, when the guns start to shot call brown and root
  13. QuoteFunny how some people without watching the video jump to the conclusion that the guys running were not armed and posed no threat. I mean funny in a sick distorted way. There you go fixed it
  14. [reply I would definetly say your damage is not related due to hard openings or high opening speeds. I on the other hand will say that this type of damage could be caused by high speed openings. How you ask? It could be from a number of things. Links on the PAC, line over, or perhaps even as blind brick mentioned battery acid although I think it unlikley. First off have you inspected the entire canopy to ensure that you dont have other damage like anywhere else. If not then do so. You may find that there is an identical type of burn somewhere else on the canopy. One explination of the white specks is that perhaps the material burned itself as it whipped past other material on the canopy. I have seen it before where the color of one cell is transfered to another. usually this is seen where the tail has been excessivly rolled in a vain attempt to slow the opening.
  15. \ I had a chance to read it before you deleted it. I sure would like to know what spawned it.
  16. Back in 93, I was in the hanger at Eloy packing my BASE rig after a jump when this dude walked up and started talking to me. For some reason; I liked the guy right away. We just seemed to hit it off. We talked for a while then he hit me with a question He said that he had a few BASE jumps and wondered if I would take him with me on my next jump (which was to be from the little donkey the following morning). Not really knowing this guy, I decided to quiz him to see just what he knew. After all, I only had a few jumps my self and I was not prepared to take a newbie out for his first jump I asked him where he had jumped before, who he had jumped with, what type of gear he had used, what type of delays he had taken, what size P/C’s he preferred and so on. He seemed to have all the right answers so I greed to take him. He then added that he didn’t bring his rig to Eloy and asked if I had an extra or if I knew some one that did. "Sure, No problem" I said. "I'm sure we can find one around here some where." After many beers, and several hours of knocking on trailer doors around the DZ, we finally got some one drunk enough to lend us their rig. And with that, we were off. We would need to be at the exit point by sun up if we were to avoid an unpleasant encounter with the cops. After driving for several hours we reached the camp ground near the little donkey with enough time to hike up river and climb the steel. Once at the exit pont, I began to gear up. First, I donned my rig. Then I pulled the P/C out of the pouch, placed the bridle over my palm and began to S-fold the bridle. As I was doing this, I noticed some thing strange. Seth was not gearing up. Instead, he was watching my every move as closely as he could. I paused what I was doing and looked at him. Then it hit me. “You’ve never done this before have you?” I asked. He looked up at me stared me straight in the eyes and said nothing. He just looked back to my hand and waited for me to restart my unintentional instruction. I paused for a moment and thought about what I should do. Should I abort and order him off the steel? “I’m a big dude, I told me self, I can make him go back down”. Then I thought, wait a minuet. He’s a pretty big dude him self. What if he doesn’t want to climb down? What then? Fuck it I decided, if he had he balls to con his way up here, then he has the balls to jump. So be it. Outwardly I was pissed but inwardly, I admired his courage. What balls! I finished what I was doing and waited for him to gear up. He did so without questions, without mistakes, and with out hesitation. I placed my toes over the edge, looked back at him and said, “do what I do. See you on the ground.” As I counted down in my head I thought, “ I hope I don’t bounce. That would be a shitty example to make” and off I went. Standing on the ground below looking back up at where Seth was now standing, I thought how freaky it is to be last off and how freaked out he must be being up there all by him self. A moment later he was off. He free fell for a solid second and pitched. (BTW, One second at the Donkey is a nice and fat delay) His opening and landing were text book. What else can I say, but the guy was a natural. Seth and I spent the next few years cutting our BASE teeth together on objects all over the country. In 94, he and I hit a total of 46 new objects in a 9 month period . Seth had it all. Brains, Looks, and, natural ability, and finally, the love of a great woman. Seth Blake was the man that women wanted and the man that men want to be. I will be forever great full that I was able to call him friend. Kevin
  17. [ Shooting an unarmed person as he/she runs away just seems wrong. Not if that unarmed person had just fired upon you and your team then decided to make a run for it. What do you do? let the bastard go so that he can pick up a weapon later on and kill you, or do you solve the problem right there and then? The rules that apply to cops in this country about firing on a retreating suspect simply do not apply in war time. Lets not forget that the mission in war is to kill your enemy. Not coddle him All this applies if they were in fact insurgents in retreat. But how would I (or you)know? I was not there. I seriously doubt that those in the video were shooting civilians for the fun of it.
  18. I just believe that we with the rest of the world turn a blind eye when things like this go on. But once our or someone elses interest are involved its a whole different ball game. Then how wopuld you explain our involvment in Ugoslavioa and Czeckoslovakia?
  19. My wife and I have been looking into buying a hybrid for some time but our research has shown us that hybrids are not yet meeting their claims for mileage. They still have many bugs to be worked out before they can actually do what they say they will. But believe me when I say that as soon as that happens I'll be getting one
  20. Years ago, I was hiking up to the top of a cliff in Moab thinking that I needed to learn more about the finer details in packing. I jumped my pack job anyway and was rewarded with a line over. I gave a few good hard tugs on the brake lines in an attempt to clear the line over but that only resulted in a more violent spin, I tossed he toggles and hoped it would clear. It did not. The brake toggle became entangled with another line on the canopy preventing it from clearing. fortunately for me I spun into the shallow waters of the colorado and not on to the talus slope. I'll always remember swimming to shore thinking, "perhaps I should become a parachute rigger. Maybe then I'll be able to avoid doing that again"
  21. I've got an old friend that worked at a local general store. It was the perfect job for a arthritis ridden veteran like him. One day, this guy walked into the store and stuck a gun in my friends face demanding money. When the perp swung his gun towards a customer that was approaching the counter unaware of what was going on, my friend calmly grabbed his SW357 and put two in the robbers chest ensuring that he would never threaten the lives innocent of law abiding citizens again. The statement made by the customer corroborated by the video tape resulted in the cops simply taking a report and going about their day. The cops were totally cool with it. Sometimes ,not always, but some times, justice is swift
