  1. Now there is a visual I could have done without!
  2. Nancy and the gang are in the middle of updating the web site. The quality of the suits is second to none. They are well worth the wait. And they just don't look bad ass they are bad ass!!! Call Nancy and she can give you pricing and other information. Stay safe, Mike
  3. Your kidding right? In addition to "guidelines" every tandem manufacture has requirements and has you sign some type of user agreement (legally binding contract), which is covered under commercial law. Not to mention that failure to follow the guidelines by the USPA, manufacture and the FAA that resulted in an incident would probably qualify as gross negligence and void any waiver or protection that you may of had. And you may be able to defend your actions in a court of law but why go through the time, aggravation and expense if it is avoidable. Mike Forsythe Tandem IE and S&TA Jump Shack
  4. What size are you that you can not find a rig to fit you?
  5. Not so weege one! Clay always keeps an inflatable anotomicaly correct with him! The sheep are never safe!
  6. Okay, consider your self corrected. There is not a 255lb weight limitation (at least on Racers) for the passenger harness. The total weight limitation is determined by the reserve. Stay safe, Mike Forsythe Jump Shack
  7. I agree because the way I view it is that you didn't loose anything but gained a wonderful love for that time that will forever be part of you.
  8. Dear Abby.......I mean Andrea
  9. I agree. When I inspect a main I prefer to pack it. And Stacy can tell you that is a good thing since on one of her reserve repacks I checked the main and when I went to pack it I noticed it had terrible porosity and as a result she replaced her main and is very happy with the results. When I packed her main this last time she said it was the only time that it opened on heading. As for the analogy that a rigger does not want to pack a main and be responsible for a malfunction just awes me because this is the same person that just packed the reserve.
  10. Is this a trick question? I insert the pin to the manufactures specifications. In absence of a specification I insert the pin only to the point that allows 100% equal distribution on the blade by the grommet.
  11. What, no pics. of the new Pantz?
  12. Must have been the professional pack job!
  13. The FireBolt has more flare when you pick up both sets of toggles (six attachment points). That is why a lot of DZ have gone to the FireBolt 298 and 350 and still get more lift (flare) at landing. I find the comment interesting though since usually I hear the opposite. In fact a lot of DZ have opted to use the single toggle vs. the two toggles as a result of the light toggle pressure. You might also want to check with the DZO (Robin) since I received good comments from him.
  14. You are absolutely right. The issue here though is exactly that, brittle vs. malleable. The Capewell pins that have failed have done so at 5-6lbs. pressure. And this is why Jump Shack has specifically used different material and manufacturing process. No "we" don’t. Personally I think that a 0% failure rate so far is pretty good, and hopefully it will continue.
  15. Well Ray not be able to “PROVE” that Jump Shack will make good pins but I can. Jump Shack has never had a single failure in either production testing or in the field of a reserve pin under the current manufacturing process. We do 100% pin testing in addition to the normal batch destructive, metallurgy, optical comparison and electron microscope testing and analyses. This is true of any rig not just the ones you listed. Again, the are other manufactures in the states. This is not true as there are pins that are harder. The issue is the pin being brittle vs. malleable. I agree, that is why the only parameter we used was that the pin had to meet the mil spec for size and shape of the various customers. The manufacturing process, materials, testing etc. we totally changed when making our pins. Yes, we make the actual pins (in various shapes and sizes) in addition to the handles and complete assemblies. No, they were properly conducted test at the manufactures and the one was a failure when the ripcord was pulled for a repack. There is an issue here that is beyond the manufactures control and that is what happens to it once it leaves the manufacture. It should also be noted that you can over test a product. I have seen pins bent from rigs being thrown on the floor, over tightened, improperly tested etc. I personally went up to one rigger who was having a lot of pin failures last year at Rantoul and tested their pull scale that they were using to perform the pin test and found it to have 6.2 lbs. more pull at 15 lbs. than my certified calibrated digital scale.
  16. Glad I could help, hope you do well. As for Clay, he only likes me because I have sheep on my ranch. Stay safe, Mike
  17. Racer 2K3 Tandem. Light weight (38lbs.), low cost replacement parts, modular construction, comfortable, fast reserve system, the best reserve pin protection, great selection of FireBolt mains (298, 350, 396 and any custom size at no additional cost), fast delivery (three weeks for custom), free training and a great price ($8,995.00).
  18. Yes, I have already have worked in hot spots before in the middle east.
  19. You will probably see an across the board price increase from most of the manufactures as we were advised several months ago that there would be a price increase in June or July on raw material.
  20. Yes, Jump Shack does and no it is not a converted tandem rig, it is the normal 2K3 sport rig just like all of the rest. The biggist person that it has been made for that I know of is 395lbs.
  21. Congratulations Bill, glad to see you back in the air!
