It works like this: If the wind is from the north then take off north of the DZ and let the wind carry you over the DZ. If the wind is from the South take off from the south. etc. etc. Just requires a bit of planning and options on take off points. I am a UK resident but I have business interests off shore. Hence I opened a company and account in the BVI. Swiss didn't make sense personally but the principal is the same. I'm by no means rich but I don't see why I should pay UK tax on income from overseas (apply UK/US comparison here), and I was advised to do this. When I did static line I was positioned squatting in the door of the plane how I should be on the outside so it was just a matter of moving from inside to outside. You are sitting on the step in the same position that you are when you are in freefall - seated with knees up - hey you're almost sitflying the exit (which is very advanced and you should be proud...). it's easy for people to just say 'arch' but not so easy to put into practise. Perhaps you could discuss a poised exit from the aircraft with your instructors that is slightly different from the seated one you are doing. To be clear - I fucking hated SL. You are thrown around by the prop wash, whilst trying to hold a position and then on to dummy pull etc. wich is a head fuck. I believe your best bet would be to cut losses, save and get yourself into an AFF programme but if not possible then do persevere. It is worth it. CJP Gods don't kill people. In France, Spain (and UK when warm enough) and most of Europe many women sunbathe topless and no one (except horny teenage boys) bats an eyelid. Could the same be said for America? I think the issue isn't glorifying sex it's not demonizing it. Don't make it the forbidden unspoken fruit and it becomes less of an issue. The FCC received over half a million complaints about the flash of Janet Jacksons breast in the Superbowl. If you consider the population to be roughly equal with women to men then there are the same amount of breasts in the world as people yet people are shocked to see them - seems a little crazy. I imagine people are mentioning age as my original question was "What should the age be?". May be wrong though It does seem ridiculous that a voting person who is married, possibly with child/ren, who can fight and die for their country and drive a car but can be arrested for holding a can of beer. I liked the earlier suggestion of making everything the same age (marriage, voting, fighting, drinking etc.) With the exception perhaps of driving. Interesting to see that the majority, according to the poll, seem to agree with this although there are a large number going for 21 although they seem under-represented in the actual comments - speak up... Having a chat with an American friend last night about the drinking age in the US. In the UK it is 18. In many countries it is lower (lots in Europe) and in a few it is higher. At 18 you are technically an adult - you can vote, marry etc. but not have a drink in the US. Obviously it will almost certainly not change - I'd like to see the politician with the balls to table this motion and how he got torn apart by the right (although it may motivate the young voters). There are many good reasons to have it high - people are less likely to drink and drive when they first start driving. Health etc. however many many people abuse it. I was first served in a pub at 15 - how many of you drank under age - I'd be willing to guess it's most. In France, for example, many kids have a beer or wine with dinner from early teens - does that mean they are better educated on booze and it is less of a forbidden fruit? Personally I am anti-circumcision for many of the reasons other people have vocalised but you do tend to find, as with religion, that the belief and action flows down from parent to child. "I'm circumcised so my kids will be", kind of thing. Here's a thought though - for all of those advocating health reasons (hygiene I will ignore as it is bogus - I am not cut and have never had hygiene issues!), surely if there were statistically significant health reasons for not having a foreskin then over the millions of years of evolution of mankind we would have slowly evolved to get rid of it, which we have not.
