  1. Election campaigns have to file financial reports, right? Look those up for the current commissioners and see how much they spent.
  2. Can a cattle rancher give a 100% guarantee that none of his livestock will ever escape from his pasture? Can Walmart give a 100% guarantee that none of their customers will wander off across adjacent private land? Can the National Park give a 100% guarantee that hikers will stay within its boundaries? Shut 'em all down!
  3. So who is this to be a replacement for? Second guess: Mark Jones?
  4. I have a theory that many democrats/liberals also realize that Obama has turned out to be a terrible president. They just stay quiet about it because they don't want to admit that they were wrong, and they think supporting their party is more important than speaking their minds. Once he's gone in 2016, they'll probably come out of the closet and denounce him.
  5. WTF over the top or what? The tips were probably something like: "There's a man with gun going into a school!" Given the past school shootings, they SHOULD react with everything they've got. If it had been someone with evil intent, we don't want to be asking later; "Why didn't you send everything you had?" Better to be safe over one harmless idiot, then to be sorry over a mass murderer of children.
  6. I'm no lawyer, but there apparently is a difference between a charity and a NFP. You can collect money as an NFP, you just can't use it for your personal benefit. Here's her NFP info on the SOS web site: http://www.sos.state.co.us/biz/BusinessEntityDetail.do?quitButtonDestination=BusinessEntityResults&fileId=20121575009&masterFileId=20121575009&srchTyp=ENTITY&entityId2=20121575009&org.apache.struts.taglib.html.TOKEN=7e68606c0ed371b046f7771154d5dc14&nameTyp=ENT [inline CFQS-NFP.JPG] Articles of Incorporation: http://www.sos.state.co.us/biz/ViewImage.do?fileId=20121575009&masterFileId=20121575009&org.apache.struts.taglib.html.TOKEN=7e68606c0ed371b046f7771154d5dc14 Here's a good quote from that: "No substantial part of the activities of the organization shall be the carrying on of propaganda, or otherwise attempting to influence legislation..." Periodic Report: http://www.sos.state.co.us/biz/ViewImage.do?fileId=20131706033&masterFileId=20121575009&org.apache.struts.taglib.html.TOKEN=7e68606c0ed371b046f7771154d5dc14 This is blank except for the name and address info - where's the stinkin' report?
  7. Why does everyone seem to like the banana girl better? Doesn't the idea of a chick who will cook you breakfast while naked have great appeal? What if the banana girl refused to cook breakfast at all for you?
  8. Here's the Secretary of State's database where charities should be registered: http://www.sos.state.co.us/ccsa/SimpleCoInquiryResultSet.do I can't find their listing either... This needs to be pursued to cause her as much trouble as possible, both to discredit her, and to make her efforts as difficult as possible to discourage further pursuit. She won't like being the target of government rules and bureaucrats herself, in the same way she tries to use government rules and bureacrats against skydivers. I don't see no Citizens for Quiet Skies here!: [inline CFQS.JPG]
  9. This is a felony offense, instead of a misdemeanor, thanks to his own lobbying. And as a convicted felon, he will be forbidden to possess any guns. So they're going to have to be confiscated. And he should approve of that, because it's what he champions.
  10. Yes Indeed. The combination of long climb to altitude, and the purr and vibration of the piston engines, was good enough to put anyone to sleep. It was like one of those beds in a cheap motel that you put a quarter in a slot and it vibrates you to sleep. These darned turbines we jump now climb so fast and smooth, that you don't even have time for a good cat nap!
  11. This is cool as heck! Fifteen uncoupled simple pendulums of monotonically increasing lengths dance together to produce visual traveling waves, standing waves, beating, and (seemingly) random motion. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yVkdfJ9PkRQ
  12. Faulty logic. Let's say that #1 had those 5 incidents in 10,000 jumps, and #2 had 10 incidents in 40,000 jumps. Which one do you think is more safe? Because we like to learn from other's mistakes so that we don't repeat them, thereby improving out safety record over time. Which we've done a fantastic job of over the last 30 years. We now make something like four times as many jumps with only half of the fatalities of 30 years ago. No. Try Angie's List.
  13. Oh, rocket science. Not something we need to worry about for sport skydiving. I hope...
  14. Link: http://news.yahoo.com/pilots-often-head-wrong-airports-reports-show-092049243.html Oh my!
  15. Marine One helicopter jumps onto the White House lawn? Oh, and then you would have to balance the budget.
  16. Yeah, the boobies are automatically included with both options!
  17. Same as everywhere. Egos Alcohol Believing that violence is a way to solve problems Alcohol Drama Alcohol Spending too much time embedded in the DZ world and losing perspective Alcohol women alcohol Added another category of trouble, in red... And no, it's not usually the women causing the problem, it's the fact that the ratio of men to women is high, therefore there's a lot of competition amongst the men for the few women.
  18. Please tell us where all this happens, because I want to be sure I don't go there.
  19. You might also try sporting goods stores, which sell cans of spray-on treatments for tents to make them waterproof.
  20. Okay, what the heck was helium doing inside the pack job?
  21. It's taken on political overtones, kind of like using "niggardly" to describe a financial tight-wad. It's politically incorrect to use that word because people associate it with an insult against blacks, when in fact it has nothing at all to do with blacks. Ignorance and political correctness override truth and common sense. And so it goes...
