  1. Interesting reading thru this old thread. The posts from 2006 were much more interesting than the recent additions IMO. I wonder how many of those from 2006 are active / current / alive? Craig
  2. You are prescient, fast forward to the "dumbass" who bounced at Perris in 2019 when he jumped a base rig from balloon with the wrong slider configuration. Though he didn't screw up skydiving, he screwed up jumping out of balloon's with base gear from that specific balloon vendor.
  3. Had so much fun going to multiple ghoulidge boogies. DC4 - landing out and having to cross 2X drainage channels co-ed showers fun jumps good friends thanks for the memories
  4. I'd also like to know. I tried to buy a gift subscription = no dice. I emailed the people on the "masthead" = no dice phone number?
  5. True, I haven't been reading as carefully as I used to, but I don't remember seeing anything printed recently / for some time. Did they stop this practice? Craig
  6. I've been jumping since 1981. I've NEVER tried to talk someone into jumping. Seems like a bad plan
  7. have fun have a great time cycling, swimming and rye whiskey have kept me young. most any stretching regimen may be helpful.
  8. thanks for the trip down memory lane. and I agree "Also, a 'first jump' in '02 is not consistent with licenses issued in '59-'61.".
  9. Sounds like fun. I rode by there last night ~ 6:30 and wondered if they were open / running
  10. Easily ruined my week Waah. If anyone knows of a way I could still skydive in texas please share any info. Make a lot of money. But your own plane and equipment. Have at it. Probably good to hire a few instructors also to hold you stable.
  11. I don't think they have released a podcast since April 2020. Dave doesn't reply to my texts. Does anyone know if they are OK? Craig

    Colugo 3/4?

Since I know nothing about you or your skills / capabilities, I recommend that you contact Mike S @ Squirrel and discuss with him. He knows more about the suit than anyone that will reply here.
  13. Nearly 3 years ago Tony D was on Skydive Radio or some other podcast touting a new version of the helmet was coming out. 3 years, that's a long development time.
  14. Those people are ignorant of the science of epidemiology. They should visit a hospital in Manhattan NY to see if it is "not a threat at all". Ignorance is NOT bliss. Craig I'm going for a bike ride
  15. "However, they did say that you will be taught many skills that would be useful in CRW right up to (but not including) the actual dock." Sounds like a GREAT way to separate you from your $$$ with little benefit. Much better to spend the time / money going to a CReW camp somewhere.
  16. I'm still jumping, but not from planes. Too many people.
  17. Both are in the desert, so yes, both have dirt................. Try both. You'll likely prefer on over the other/
  18. I don't completely disagree with you. My triathlon is not the BEST tool, it is an ADEQUATE tool. Cheers Craig
  19. Refreshing to see that MANY on this thread are cynical / realists that are willing to deal with the reality that for aeroplane jumps most WS specific canopies are marketing tools first and flying tools second. I use an old triathlon and I'm pretty sure that any off-heading openings are caused by the pilot, not the canopy.
