I'm still on my first cup of coffee, so bear with me - If California has 16 more deaths than Oklahoma per 100,000 and California's population density per square mile is four times greater than Oklahoma, how is Oklahoma doing better? We've been divorced for quite some time now.

Since the Trump card is anything that is declared as such after being presented in this "game", it'll be interesting to see how significant it is. Ron, the Kraken never came, Trump wasn't inaugurated, and 1871 wasn't the last legal inauguration. For that matter, everyone else who's tried to subvert the will of the voters isn't a patriot. Because America is defined by its rules, not by what people happen to be affected by those rules. The rule of law is above the rule of people when effected by the country. Individual people have the right to hold whatever rule they think is more important (e.g. the Rule of God), and the government can't prosecute them for their efforts or lack thereof. I am a real American. So is my genderqueer BLM-protesting friend. So is my 96-year-old Trump-supporting great aunt, and my Texas friends who span a entire range of political belief. But we all get a voice, and the rules are what they are for listening to those voices. Trump's voice is only more important in the minds of a minority of Americans. That makes it a minority voice. I am going to have to call bullshit on that. Might be your perception, but there are plenty of stories of blatant sexism and racism that simply isn't get dealt with in the armed forces. The idea that it is something that doesn't exist is insane. How many white, male generals. How many BIPOC and/or female generals?

Looks like a lot of people don't understand the difference between "making good choices" and "having good choices".

Recognize it. Try not to contribute to it. Try to help others realize that it's real. Understand that affirmative action programs are trying to counter it. Note that 'feel guilty about it', 'pay reparations to the minorities' or 'take blame for it' or anything else that conservatives seem to think that people bringing it up want them to do aren't on the list.

you left out that part of the equation that said blue is green now and up is down. take into account the fact that the earth is rotating slightly to the left of what it was almost 150k years ago and it makes perfect sense, on a full moon evening anyway.

Let me work it out for you. 16 times 58 times 253 divided by 58 divided by 16 equals 253. Exactly the number of deaths you would expect if Oklahoma were California. Make sense now?

I'm going to go on a limb and guess that you are inferring that the link to the video is yet more evidence that a black person has succeeded ergo white privilege is a myth? I'm not sure that's what you meant... I am only inferring based on the fact you have pulled out this same bad argument many times already now... It's interesting that you attacked another poster on the basis that English is not his native language. English is not my native language but I think I am at least using good logic in my arguments. You, on the other hand, appear not to be fluent in logic, so let me educate you (guide you out of - but I can't force you to learn)... a - the video was a reference to the mental gymnastics it takes to make the kinds of arguments you are making in order to deny the existence of white privilege. It was a joke / attempt at humour. Apparently lost on you as well. Nevermind - I thought I was hilarious and as I am mostly trying to entertain myself on here, mission accomplished! ( <-- self-congratulation on making myself laugh) b - How are you making logical fallacies?? Let me count the ways... ( <-- nerdy reference to victorian poem) 1 - Ad Hominem / Tu Quoque (litterally - "against the man" / "you too"). These 2 logical fallacies are similar in that you attack the person as "proof" that the argument is bad. This is more than just becoming exasperated and calling someone names. This goes one step further and happens when someone makes the claim that "the other person is an idiot," therefore his/her argument must be stupid. This is an illogical leap. The "look who's talking" attack does not prove or disprove the person's statement. In assessing whether and argument follows good logic, it doesn't matter who is saying it only matters what is being said. Because even a moron can make a good point. An argument stands alone and it is either good or it is bad, period. In fairness to you, you are not the only person on here guilty of this crime against logic. 2 - Non Sequitor ("does not follow"). A, therefore B, therefore EARRING. No logical / correct link. Example of good logical sequence: All of Quebec is in Canada. All Canada is in North America. Therefore All of Quebec must also be in North America. Example of bad logical sequence: All of Quebec is in Canada. All Canada is in North America. Therefore Quebec must be full of cunts. The first two statements are not proof of or linked to the third, which may or may not be correct. Example of non sequitor statement: there are barriers to success, but it is still possible to succeed, therefore there is no white privilege. (there is no logical connexion between "possible" and "harder") 3 - Circulus in Probando (circular reasoning). The argument refers back to itself as evidence that the argument is correct = bad logic. Example: We know certain traits make you successful. How do we know? Successful people have these traits. Example: We know Muhammad wrote the Kuran. How do we know? It says so in the Kuran. (it doesn't really say that and was probably dictated by Muhammad & written by a scribe) Example (not made by you): America is the best place to live because it's better than any other country. (the argument loops back to itself as proof of itself - it's better because it's better) 4 - Red Herring Fallacy (throwing in irrelevant statements to distract - often to avoid uncomfortable truths). Example: Let's face it everyone struggles. (error in logic: this has nothing to do with how much different people struggle and whether patterns of struggle exist and whether there are mechanisms at play that favour one group versus another. Yes, everyone struggles. Irrelevant in the debate about white privilege.) Example: What about Asian privilege? (Again: irrelevant to the debate about white privilege. A distraction tactic - and a bad one at that.) I could go on... My point? Your arguments do not follow good logic.

Poor thing, you continue to conflate as is your natural tendency. Try hard to remind yourself that you wrote multi and I wrote Mexican. Maybe I meant multi-Mexican but who knows. The thing you need to realize is that you are now, as ever, arguing about the argument. jakee does the exact same thing which was BIGUN's original observation. It might be interesting to you but to the outer world it's just boring.

Not sure of the point as a D qualifies you for all aspects of the sport. While we're at it, eliminate the night jump from the D license. Not necessary and dangerous. No one has to make a night jump accidentally or unintentionally.

it's a huge waste of resources that are better spent elsewhere, like actually contributing to safety. maybe to include more plf training, having students do some before each day of jumping like they do in airborne school, and start an awareness program for canopy piloting. things that still killing us would be where i would direct my energies, but i didn't get the job as executive director, so not my call now.

ah, what it must be like to remain so ignorant while in the presence of knowledge... you need serious help my friend. i would like to talk to you privately and get you in touch with some folks in detroit that i know who run some programs for inner city minorities so that you can learn just exactly what the fuck you are doing wrong and how bad it is when you say things like this. or not, i don't care much other than this is the first (i'll bring that to the dz next weekend when i go down) time i have interacted with you. my first reaction to the things you are posting would get me a perma ban, so i thought i would try to actually help and enlighten you, since you seem other wise receptive to it, unlike others on here. the offer's there. and for the record, i was that poor white kid in the trailer park a few times...yes, it was much easier on me than my black friends. now piss off.

I refer back to my earlier example. We need to stop telling women not to wear short dresses. And start teaching men not to rape. We need to stop telling african americans to just work harder. And start reforming laws that allow voter suppression, police brutality, unequal sentencing, tax breaks for the rich, and much much much more. Every creature on the planet struggles and humans are no different. That is true. It has been true historically and it will continue to be true. And it is also true that specific groups of people struggle MORE. And specific groups of people struggle LESS. And this is by design. White men designed the laws that govern America. That is a statement of fact. Those laws have evolved/improved over time but they are still very far from being fair. You can deny it all you want, but your denial doesn't change the truth. EDIT: Sorry to pee on your parade, but America's not that great...

Oh dear... Can't believe I am posting this... American legislation in particular was designed by white men who owned property. They actively denied the vote to anyone else and this is a tradition that continues today. And nevermind suppressing the vote... It should come as no surprise that rules favour the rule-makers. Always. If all your rule-makers have historically been white men who owned property, you can't then turn around and say "but that doesn't exist anymore." It sure as hell does. Look... Those slaves who were "set free." Did they get back pay for allllll those years where they worked without pay for the white man??? Did they get dividends from their direct contribution to their owners' increase in wealth??? Setting people free and not paying them for their work or their contribution, not allowing them to vote, not allowing them to own property, et cetera, et cetera... Well, what kind of "freedom" is that, really?? That's like taking a bird from it's tree, ripping off it's wings, and throwing it off from your balcony and saying: there you go, now go fly with the other birds! And then claiming those wingless birds have the same opportunities as the other birds is just plain crazy. And the descendants of wingless birds who never had anyone to teach them to fly are STILL operating with a handicap. Et cetera, et cetera. Change - significant, real, long-lasting change - takes a verrrrrrrry long time. Racism exists. White Privilege exists. Sexism exists. Saying otherwise is either stupid as fuck, or extremely disingenuous.

Then why are you concerned about driving long distance? If time is valuable, there are much faster ways to cover 2,000 miles than driving.
