  2. care to share some data? By the way, are you lumping all MARD's in one bucket?
  3. too much for that IMO. I would be patient and find a better buy, something with canopies that are not 15+ years old. How much do you weigh, what were you jumping etc.?
  4. Have you put any thought into trying something else? I mean, it essentially sounds like you purposefully pack you PC to be a hard pull.... Not hard pull as in I need muscles to get it out, but yes it is harder to get than a hackey. It has worked great the last 178 times (according to my Cypres), and I have no worries about it. Having a handle that stand out is scary to me. same has been said by many dead people, just a thought.... Lots of people worry about walking across the street, and they also die. So whats your point? Dropping/losing your handle is not a malfunction in a throw out rig with a competent skydiver. However if the same happend to a student, it would be worse. my point is you are inventing your own way to do something in a sport that has other better proven methods. I am not saying things can't change (and shouldn't) but your "method" of packing a pilot chute seems borderline idiotic IMHO. All I was trying to make you do was think about it, but like many other hurt/dead people, your way must be better. I wish you luck.
  5. Sounds to me like you bought your second rig first, but I tend to take things slow. what did you fly for your first jumps? What do your mentors say about your rig?

  7. You were likely in a head down orientation.

  9. just curious, why does his post not get deleted? Yet others get deleted for FAR worse? I am not looking for an argument, just really curious.
  10. Please tell me this is your attempt at making a joke. "Nice to see you motivated to try new things, back flying a bit low? You want to congratulate this guy for that? You can take that approach, I think telling him what a stupid idiot he is to get himself in that situation is what works better. He could have easily died and number of ways on this jump...

  12. really? And you keep saying "maled main" what kind af mal are you refering to? Besides the exception of a bag lock possibly, what mal do you think has less drag than a RPC?? Ignore agian I am sure haha.
  13. I don't agree or disagree with your thoughtsabout the issue, but you realize you are using wikipedia for your source right? The "wiki" that ANYONE can edit. Just saying, its not worth THAT much.
  14. yeah, and that is also the most common size of gear for sale as well. Seriously, if you dont care about money, go buy brand new. Nobody cares, you come on here for help, then spit in peoples faces when you don't hear what you want to hear. Oh, why bother.......do what you want. Its pretty obvious you're going to do that anyways.
  15. Because you clearly think you know enough and have enough experience to justify something higher, and YOU DONT! Well if they are telling you to buy gear based on pack volume (I highly doubt they are) then they do not have your best interests in mind. Then the easy answer is buy the one that fits the canopies you wish to jump.
  16. Thought so, well, good luck in the sport bud. You clearly have your priorities in order.
  17. How do you suggest measuring this? What type of malfunction? Nearly impossible to replicate the same malfuction every time no? Again, how is it colapsed? Can you replicate and produce the same standard every time? BTW, whats the minimum on yours? Care to share your testing methods and data? same thing as above please? This I can understand and agree with. I know you will ignore this post, because I haven't filled out a profile on an internet webiste (like that should even matter). But still, these arguments that you make are rediculous.
  18. this would imply that you are ordering a container NEW. If this is the case, why would you not order it based on what size reserve and main YOUR INSTRUCTORS AND RIGGER reccomend? Call me crazy, but why the hell are you so concerned with pack volume unless. a. you have a container that only holds up to xxx ci canopies and are trying to get a xxx ft reserve. b. you are trying to get the smallest rig possible, yet fit a reserve that suits you to look cool. So which is it?
  19. it doesnt look like his green (end cells) canopy is good. It looks like he cut it away and it got caught up on him a little. his slider seems to be wrapped around the camera a little then he gets it off. I dont think its an edit, i think its his main leaving fast, which pulled his rsl and launched the reserve into the other jumpers main.
