  1. Many thanks to you "format", I might be smiling the rest of the day...
  2. I can write my name in the snow when I pee, that's about it.................Don't the Buhhdist Monks do the same thing, on a massive scale, with colored sand, and when it's finished they just wipe it away like it was nothing ? Life is short ... jump often.
  3. Does it have a Moon of some kind, to influence water masses ( or future water masses ), like Earth does ? I thought I saw on Discovery Channel, that life would not exist on Earth if we did not have the Moon. Or that life would not have evolved from single-celled orginizms without the Moon's influence on the tides. Is there truth to that ? Life is short ... jump often.
  4. Lodi, CA. Fantastic instruction. Low price. Maybe use their staff or use Ed P.......he is an independent AFF instructor using Lodi to instruct. Life is short ... jump often.
  5. So it's selling for how much...maybe $3500, and shipping is involved? Scam.... Life is short ... jump often.
  6. I totally agree ( on using the vid to show others the danger of turbulance ) Keeping well away from objects on the ground is a good start to avoiding this type of turbulance. Life is short ... jump often.
  7. Even though the vid has been removed, a picture just before impact is shown in an article clicky in post five above. The jumper is clearly going to drive straight into the ground from a pretty good height. Looks like 50 ft plus straight down. Some recovery to level flight maybe, but doubtful. 8. Once upon a time there was a one legged man and his loyal three legged cat, Tripod. Life is short ... jump often.
  9. I was in a public laundry the other day. A pretty girl was talking to some guy about New York City. She said she would never, ever go there again.....unless she was parachuting into Central Park and then got a helicopter ride out. I immediately responded " are you a skydiver ? I am too ". She said hell no, I'm scared of heights. I of course said there is no virtigo effect in a plane. I think she thought I was full of BS about being a jumper....a perfectly normal thing in my world. I could tell she felt pressured on the subject, so we changed the conversation to driving big rigs in the snow and ice......we went on to talking about driving in the snow for a good half hour...............but she was cute so what the heck.......what ever she is comfortable with.... 10. You appear to have quoted me and deleted everything I wrote, retaining only what I replied to. In answer to your question, none of those activities would be skydiving. If he's prohibited from skydiving he can't skydive. Court orders are generally not difficult to understand or interpret although some contrive to. He can do what he likes except skydive. i.e. leaving his kid to wander around the DZ alone as he gets on a plane and jumps out is prohibited. Your would be valid if true, but we can all think of fictional stuff to get over. QuoteSorry Dorbie........I was not aiming my comment towards your quote. Your post was just handy to attach to. My point is that he should be able to spend time at the DZ with his child " if he is not jumping "......... Life is short ... jump often.
  11. QuoteQuoteI had a call for some assistance, from a USPA member going through a custody dispute with an ex. The ex told the judge she didnt want him skydiving while he was responsible for the child. The judge bought into it and banned the guy from jumping during visitation. I personally have never heard of such a thing. How can that be legal. My immediate thoughts are why skydiving? Why not ban him from driving or jogging, or golfing? I dont get it.QuoteDoes this mean that the Father can't go to the Drop Zone and watch the swooping with his kid, or watch the CREW Dogs fly formations, or watch the Accuracy Pilots hit the tuffet ? Have a picnic on the grass, hang out with his kid and his freinds, but not jump that day..... ...? Life is short ... jump often.
  12. That.......( see video )......is how you test a wingsuit. That guy is a genious. Life is short ... jump often.
  13. From what altitude ? Do tracking suit jumps count ? Are A lic numbers really 6 digits now ? ......... Life is short ... jump often.

  15. QuoteI saw an article years ago in Parachutist on re-pack cycles. The reason for periodic re-packs was the length of time the canopy was " folded into one position for a length of time ". According to the author, the longer it was packed, could affect the time ( in seconds ) that it took to open ( inflate ) if needed. Nothing on cables, but they should be part of shorter maintenance cycles, in my opinion. Life is short ... jump often.

QuoteNot to put pressure on the subject, but it is a fact. This guy knows how to get in your place now, and knows his way around. He also knows you will be getting "new stuff" soon.........1 + 1 = 2.......Maybe set up hidden cams for when he returns..... Life is short ... jump often.
  17. QuoteI think the step most people are referring to is when you stand up at that point with your suit on, first next thing is to fully tighten your leg straps. Then complete the front zippers up, and tighten your chest strap fully ( normal to jump with ). Then, if it's hot out, you can unzip some while leaving your chest strap tight. Adjust your booties and zip down your legs, and attach your snaps. Grab your helmet, etc. Get a gear check. Your ready to board the jump plane. Life is short ... jump often.
  18. QuoteI think you were very level headed thru the whole thing, with not much time between main pull tries, to reserve. Lost the D-ring, but went right back to it....never give up, right ? Have you done a BASE jump before ? I would say you are now qualified for the landings. One more thing...............any alligators out in that landing area ? Life is short ... jump often.
  19. First thing first..........Get a jump in.......second...... never stop jumping .......ever....... Life is short ... jump often.
  20. Keep in mind, the first ( and maybe only ) video you get, might be of your dog eating your GoPro...... Life is short ... jump often.
  21. QuoteThe cut on those legs looks perfect, why change it ? And the legs themselves........WOW....... Life is short ... jump often.
  22. QuoteDid you notice Don, that I only used the word " exit " not "exit with freefall, and lots of jumpers in tow ".....yes, after the cool vid of it "swimming" out the back of the plane, it would float away. You might have some cool vid though...... Life is short ... jump often.
  23. QuoteThat is very, very cool.......I see a Skyvan exit in the making.... Life is short ... jump often.
  24. At least they are easier to spot than white or blue ones, eh? QuoteSorry........Rogue Aircraft........ Life is short ... jump often.
