  1. Are you seriously asking that question? QuoteI guess what I'm trying to say is, why would you jump one knowing you will likely get a hard opening, and landing it will probably involve a good PLF. It might be fun to fly while it's airbourne. Maybe a good water landing with a floatation device would be the way to go.....Summer jumps only..........We have modern canopies that fly and land well...use them. Life is short ... jump often.
  2. QuoteDid they charge the Mayor for the Tandem jump, or was it a gift ? Gotta keep the Mayor happy ya know..... Life is short ... jump often.
  3. QuoteWhy would anyone, just for fun, jump one of these things ? Good response to the wrap though, quick cut-away by the first guy, and the second guy did finally cut-away. Life is short ... jump often.
  4. QuoteIn the USA, Twisties are called Cheetos......but smear a little Vegemite on Twisties or Cheetos, and they all taste the same.......like Vegemite..... Life is short ... jump often.
  5. Don't know what that "Thing" was,but a good vid for sure. Shows what jumping is all about....having fun... Life is short ... jump often.
  6. I like the "BIG" cheeze-its, or the smalls. Original cheddar flavor is best IMO......but they all seem to have less salt than the old days. Salt is what brings out the flavor..........More Salt Please..... Life is short ... jump often.
  7. I always fall back on "most of this started when we stopped spanking children".....but getting past that, maybe you should "sign him up" for a new project, as he would not do it himself...it's called the Army....will straighten him right out..... Life is short ... jump often.
  8. Have you tried "Trash Packing" it ? Or....drunken trash packing it.....that should slow down the openings...... Life is short ... jump often.
  9. Hi Gail, How things are made to be used, and how they are sometimes used, can be two different things. I put 300+ jumps on my 209 Safire 2, packed in my I-44, as you know it is made for a 170. At least once, I even packed a Black Jack 280 in it for a hop 'n pop...CRW style...no bag....fabric visible........I have a larger Infinity now, sized 210-230 main. Never ever had a problem ever, 100+ wingsuit jumps with the I-44/209 that way also. Life is short ... jump often.
  10. It's middle of Winter man......save the ice cubes for Summer.......... Life is short ... jump often.
  11. QuoteI have about 500 camera jumps and no cut-away system on it....I can get my helmet off in about three seconds under canopy ( this comes from years of motor cycle riding and lots of Bee stings ).....
  12. Maybe so...but, who could "belt it out" like Whitney Houston ? Life is short ... jump often.
  13. By the way....in case you didn't know...Whitney Houston died today......that is her song........a little respect, please.... Life is short ... jump often.
  14. Freefly like a Pro.......Land like a student, under a student canopy. Follow student canopy progression standards.....then you might be going some place....but what WILL happen is these instructors thinking they can land/swoop like very experienced canopy pilots, which they are not, will start crashing and burning all over the place..... Life is short ... jump often.
  15. QuoteDid either of you have a Tandem Instructor, or was it just the two of you.....
  16. Miss GP.....When you get your suit ( or just keep using the rental suit for now ), use the tunnel with the care, go slow and steady with your training..... follow your instructor's advice.......and above all....have the fun you are seeking.....
  17. QuoteThe "Low Canopy" has the right of way....but.....if you are the low, but can see over your shoulder that a Tandem is coming in behind you, take a landing spot to one side or the other (inside of pattern is easiest, left side for left hand pattern. Right side for right hand pattern), and let the Tandem have the middle of the landing area....he/she has a passenger....duh... Life is short ... jump often.
  18. I just had two 24 ouncers, just for you.....and me....
  19. This is one other reason to live life everyday to the fullest.........you just don't know how the day is going to end............Respectfully.....RIP Life is short ... jump often.
  20. You're right. In America, you need to tell the kids that being fat is normal, because of the way parents feed the kids ( less sit down, low fat dinners and more fattening, chemical filled fast food ), otherwise they would feel, well, embarrassed....duh.... You aren't from here, but are you aware, most lower grade sports events aren't even scored......we don't want the kids thinking they are losers ( or fat ). I'm not perfect...I know that, thru trial and error. I've won some, and I've lost some....I've been a skinny kid and adult, and I've been a fat adult. Kids aren't getting that experience anymore.....everything is just.......normal..........just my opinion of course...... Life is short ... jump often.
  21. I don't believe for a second he was actually concentrating on what he was shooting. Not only do I think he should not have been wearing a camera, I'm thinking he shouldn't have been on a 4 way. QuoteI'm thinking he was not part of the 4-way, just a solo jumper who got excited (anxious) about the cloud cover issue and spaced off on any seperation from the other group. I think that, because there in no attempt to video the 4-way. He then opened at his deployment alt..........right next to the other group. The other guy did go "right" to try to avoid him, but he did nothing, or maybe alittle left. Big ways first, then solos, tandems, wingsuits (trackers). Nobody here seems to know, but that's my opinion. Seperation, seperation, seperation.... Life is short ... jump often.
  22. I would say, that is what a normal human would look like when eating properly ( not over eating ), and actually getting off the couch once in awhile. The rest of us....well, you know..... Life is short ... jump often.
  23. As for learning from immediate feed back you are true that it can speed up the process but there have been studies that show deeper learning happens over time. A little coaching over a longer period of time can have more lasting results than a lot of coaching in a short time. Your brain has a chance to digest and catch up with all the info QuoteAs I understand it, you must "sleep on it" for your brain to log in the info. First get the info in the day (awake time), then when you sleep, your brain stores away the info. You can then access the info long term. Like you said though, a little info at a time before the sleep is better than a lot of info all at once. Life is short ... jump often.
