  1. Is it a convertible ? ....... Skyvan jump ....... That will teach it not to mess with you ...... Life is short ... jump often.
  2. Phantom 2 or Phantom 3 ........ The everything suit Life is short ... jump often.
  3. I enlarged the two existing 3/8" holes from in front of the two mics, and opened the lower front of the box. It is now one long rectangle maybe 1 1/4" wide by a 1/2 tall. Both mics are now FULLY exposed. I shot three tandem vids today, and the volume on the finished product is loud and clear........although one guy was so nervous he could barely get out a whisper during interviews.........until after he landed.....
  4. One other method to consider. If you only jump at one drop zone, maybe try to find a safe spot there so you can leave your gear full time at the DZ......
  5. I will, it's at the DZ, so I'll get a pic Weds. or Thurs. (closed Mon. / Tues. )....
  6. Thanks for the reply. I have experimented with "normal volume", just yesterday (Sunday) in fact, and at other times. I'll go back to normal volume for awhile and see how things go. I've been using this cam for tandem vids for a full year and have tried everything I could think of or read in the manual, and the volume problem persists.... Life is short ... jump often.
  7. Using my cx110 for tandem vids, during any interviews, my voice is at a fair volume (could be louder). The people I'm interviewing are 5 to 10 feet from me, and some can barely be heard. I realize some are just soft spoken, and oncoming wind noise might be diluting the audio. I set the mic(s) to "zoom mic" daily. It doesn't help. I don't see another adjustment mode. I use a box on my helmet, but have drilled two large holes ( 3/8" ) in front of the two mics. The two mics seem to be fully exposed and face forward. Any suggestions ? Thanks, Mike Life is short ... jump often.

  9. Here you go: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7qDgCmzh5ao QuoteAfter watching the video, I'm trying to picture the groupies after the show......scary..... Life is short ... jump often.
  10. I think it would be cheaper for you to buy a backpack type bag that your rig and helmet will fit in. Maybe at a local store. Skydive stores online also sell rig bags with double shoulder straps, but you would have to wait for it to ship. Life is short ... jump often.
  11. I noticed two things watching the vid. The jumper started out laying on the lines, but quickly rolled over and cleared his legs. This is not to say he did not still have a horseshoe, but he was under the mess at that point. The second thing is that his jump buddy did not appear to track out from under the possible cut-away .... Life is short ... jump often.

  19. I think it was around $ 1700. This is my second Infinity, love them. Life is short ... jump often.
  20. My rig now was a brand new Infinity container, ordered by me ( for proper fit ). A used Safire 2 and a used reserve less than 5 yrs old. $ 3000. Life is short ... jump often.
  21. I put a pair of these on the other day. All thru these posts I thought these goggles had true HUD ( the image projected onto the lens from another source into your normal line of sight ), but all you get here is to look down into the bottom of the goggles at a small display device..... 22. You guys kill me.....I'm laughing myself to death over here...
  23. I got a couple camera jumps 2 weeks ago out of a 182, 10 deg F, plus wind chill. Love hanging on the strut at that temp while student gets both legs out.... Life is short ... jump often.
