  1. You'll get no votes from the Denver area today. Probably a great many from NY, though.
  2. "People who live in glass houses.........." Would you care to discuss the UK in India and free speech? That bit of history is more current, involves direct government policy and is far greater in scope than this isolated bit 1912 trivia. Why don't you admit to being anti American and get over yourself? From your history of posts it is more than evident.
  3. Congratz..... Lawyering up was/is the very best way to deal with the situation. Looks like you will do just fine. Disregard all the humorous/ joke/ non-serious posts about spiking logs and booby traps. You want to be pure as the driven snow from now on.
  4. The wealthy don't want rules either. They don't feel they should have to pay taxes, either. They just know, they are 'so special'! Chuck Not so... The wealthy make the rules. Like being invested in TAX FREE bonds or T bills. They don't hafta pay taxes. Rules, ya know...
  5. Guns also make it more convenient to BE a boogeyman. I do own lots of guns......
  6. "Occupy Oakland is filing papers with the California secretary of state to become an unincorporated association, able to open a bank account of its own in a credit union." Ironic, ain't it? The OWS protestors wanting to be like the $$$ fat cats. But they want to do it without by-laws or rules.

And, This is not preschool--No one ever said Life is fair, nor should it be forced to be. You got that right...!! I earned every cent. Healthy, wealthy and retired.
  8. Dood...... Count yer blessings. It could have been 5 hours with 3 lawyers and two congress-persons
  9. A French Crusader might ask " is that for eat in or take out?"
  10. Lawyer up....... The post about adverse possession is on point, too. Time frames are the key in AP. Perhaps the "other" guy has a wrong headed notion OR simply is a dumb bully. DO Lawyer up. A family we know had some land in central Fl. They finally took a vacation to visit their property..... and what did they find on their land..?? Hmmm? DISNEY WORLD!!!! LAWYER UP.
  11. Perhaps a win in a small sphere of influence, but looking at the success of J K Rowling's Harry Potter, HP World in Florida and virtually anything else connected to HP, the PC killjoys have a long row to hoe still.
  12. "...those that forget the past are condemned to repeat it." George Santayana (1863 – 1952)
  13. Does this count? My buddy in St. Louis got a call from his ex a few weeks after they had buried their 12 year old daughter, who had passed away from pneumonia. She wanted to know why the child support check was late. How he managed not to shoot the bitch is beyond me. All true, no BS.
  14. dueling pistols only Dueling pistols for pols..? I was thinking more in the line of belt fed, for them. There's only one shot with duelers.
  15. Perfect Marine Corps material......
  16. Autobahn, driving 241 km/h??: Those times are gone, my dear, when you were free enough to break your neck at that speed: It's really hard to find a remaining piece of a *free autobahn* here where you're allowed to drive more than 130 km/h. That is bad news.
  17. This whole thread sound fishy. Dood.............
  18. Caution... One might get hit with a defamation suit by an angry whale. Ya know, being compared to a human and all.
  19. The 99 I fired belonged to a buddy. I said about 22". The bbl seemed kinda short when I let that thing go. If the rifle is collectable in .308, then go for it, sez me. I also have several Enfields, including the jungle carbine mentioned by BIGUN. The .303 is a true hitter. There is some talk about a "wandering zero" on a jungle carbine, but I have found mine to be excellent.
  20. In have a Ruger carbine in 44 cal. It's the berryz to shoot, but a dandy hog gun. I agree, Rugers are kool.
  21. The 99 I fired was like a saddle rifle. Short bbl, about 22". The concussion from the muzzle being so close was a surprise. That's about all the info I can offer. Good luck.
  22. It's an OK hog gun, but that short barrel, in 7.62, makes shooting it a bit uncomfortable if you are without ear protection. For example like when you are out hunting or not at the range.
  23. MOAB, Utah – The body of champion skydiver David Brown has been discovered by a hiker in Moab, in southeastern Utah, almost four months after he went missing. Moab police made the announcement Wednesday after the Utah medical examiner confirmed the 37-year-old Canadian's identity through dental records, The Salt Lake Tribune reported. Brown, who had been working as an instructor at Skydive Moab and had been living in the U.S. for the past 10 years, was last seen June 29 when he left the home he shared with his boss Clint MacBeth. He had apparently only planned to take a short hike and did not take his wallet, or any cash or belongings with him. After Grand County Search and Rescue crews conducted extensive searches of the mountains surrounding Moab in the weeks following his disappearance, police issued a national missing person alert. Police refused to speculate on the cause of death and said they were awaiting the results of an autopsy. Brown, originally from Halifax, Nova Scotia, holds a skydiving world record and had won a national championship, the report said.
