    HR 1955

We might need some clarification on this bill. The Military Commissions Act 2009 excluded US citizens from Military custody, and allowed for Hab/corp, for US citizens apprehended inside the US. I did a fast read on this, so any light shedders comments would be welcome. 1032 National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2012 (b) Applicability to United States Citizens and Lawful Resident Aliens- (1) UNITED STATES CITIZENS- The requirement to detain a person in military custody under this section does not extend to citizens of the United States. (2) LAWFUL RESIDENT ALIENS- The requirement to detain a person in military custody under this section does not extend to a lawful resident alien of the United States on the basis of conduct taking place within the United States, except to the extent permitted by the Constitution of the United States.
  2. Any comments from someone who lives there... Doesn't Dreamdancer live there?
  3. I think we all would love to see the look on the Myth Busters guys faces when the realization came to them. Their rectal sphincters probably slammed shut, audibly. Couldn't drive a straight-pin up em' with a sledge hammer! I did think it was cool of Jeremy and Adam to go the peoples houses and apologise! Chuck A Golden Straight pin......!!!

  5. The odds of this happening again are astronomical, to say the least. You're right on point, I believe.

"Even without passage of either of these two measures, Jose Padilla was detained as an enemy combatant, but eventually tried and sentenced in (civilian) Federal court." And rightly so. Local police simply do not have the where with all to find and apprehend the Padillas of the world. Civilian Ct was indeed the proper venue as Padilla was not picked up or captured on a foreign battlefield. The Flag was wrapped around him. The system worked.

One can only hope that TJ proves right. Hopefully without having to resort to violence. I believe TJ meant at the ballot box.

Since we have given them good opportunity to point fingers at us and say, "Yeah! Look at them bozos and how they are treating their own citizens." I agree to your "wake up" statement. U.S. citizens should wake up and smell the coffee. Ahhhh, but having so little faith in American citizens in the face of their apathy and propensity to be herded, I don't see it happening to any meaningful extent. Thomas Jefferson said pretty much the same thing. TJ also said that the People will correct the error. (I paraphrase.)
  9. Oh yeah...... There will be a wide loop thrown to include all depths of pockets. Make no mistake about that.
  10. Great......... Just great! Now the rest of us who have artillery will now have to suffer the statutory infringement that will result from MythBusters malfeasance.

Agreed.... This bill also ignores the "Flag wrapping around" individuals who are legally within the borders of the US. Constitutional protections, and the Bill of Rights are at odds with this bill.

[Foreign Ministry reports circulating in the Kremlin today are warning that an already explosive situation in the United States is about to get a whole lot worse as a new law put forth by President Obama is said capable of seeing up to 500,000 American citizens jailed for the crime of opposing their government. Sparking the concern of Russian diplomats over the growing totalitarian bent of the Obama government is the planned reintroduction of what these reports call one of the most draconian laws ever introduced in a free society that is titled “The Violent Radicalization and Homegrown Terrorism Prevention Act”.] I say piss and schidt on Russian diplomats. Especially, that "Dobby" looking KGB rat Putin. Since when do Russian commies care about the welfare of the US? Wake up, folks.
  13. And I am sure that FELON bought the gun legally too! EXACTLY........!!!
  14. I can't make up my mind on this. The OJ trial... Appellate Cts. are a post trial event that decide if the trial was fair, and so forth... ( Yup, I know that nobody is guaranteed a perfect trial, just a fair one.) At this point, I think that only security cameras should be allowed. The possibility of humans acting human and not seeing to the welfare of the client, whether the People or the D, is too much of a risk simply for a "curiosity". I remain open minded to further discussion.

  19. Does this groping occur at the same airport? If so, then you are probably too hot for the TSA guys to ignore. If at other AP's, then you might look felonious for some reason, and be tripping the profile. I'm sure that the TSA still have the wand of power available.
  20. Driving is a one dimensional activity - a monkey can do it - being proud of your driving abilities is like being proud of being able to put on pants Have you seen how kids wear their trousers now-a-days?
  21. True about the offensive fumes, but farting, a natural event; may not be a voluntary act, or a hazard. Smoking is unhealthy, unsanitary. hazardous, voluntary and unnatural. Different issue. But back to the burping kid. Suppose he vomited, or soiled his pants? A criminal act? Nasty, and disruptive to be sure. Not a criminal act, though. Clearly, an overreach and misuse of authority. Going through school, these things happen with kids. I can recall seeing kids throw-up and the teacher helped to clean them up and see toit they were taken care of and taken to the school nurse. As for kids farting or belching, the teachers usually addressed the kid, to 'please' control himself. Never saw a kid 'cuffed and stuffed' for it, though. Chuck Me neither. However, since this is a Sky Jumping forum......... We all can relate to the jumper who par-took of a heavy pasta and beer supper the night before arriving at the DZ. Even though farting in a jump plane is.. humorous sometimes.... (admit it.!!) the urge to report the offender to the Center for Disease Control or retaliate in like fashion is considerable.
