  1. You're wrong. They went to Switzerland.
  2. Keep in mind I responded to a jumper who is new; has less than 10 jumps, and was asking a question in a certain context. Had the OP been a seasoned jumper, who probably knows, or should know, a few things about our sport, I probably would not have responded at all.
  3. "Her cache somehow caught the attention of Lakewood Police, who paid a visit last September. When they found Rice wasn’t home, they asked an obliging employee of the complex to open up the apartment without her consent. Once inside, they raided the gun rack, making off with 13 firearms worth around $15,000. The only problem: They had no apparent reason to." This is the only info we have to go by. Yes, we are extrapolating, somewhat, but the search must be deemed illegal if the story is accurate. Besides, there is also no mention if an arrest, either. The VA must rely on the opinion of a Psychiatrist or Psychologist who has made an in person examination of the subject, PRIOR to making a move on a patient. Only by a Court Order, again after due process, can the VA divulge any info on a patient. Doctor/ Patient privilege. Florida has a Baker Act, which is too deep to discuss here. I'm sure other states have similar legislation. We do agree on the thrust of the discussion, however.
  4. Very possible... Except, the "probable cause" issue is an immutable mandate on the fuzz/ government. Any individual can be brought to the attention of APS or other government agencies, but the subject is ENTITLED to due process prior to any adverse action by any agency. That is to say, the agency must prove that there is a reality, not just an accusation involved. Unauthorized entry, and confiscation of private property is unconstitutional. There are indeed exceptions, or warrantless searches, but this incident, as related, fails to meet any of the criteria required for a warrantless search, much less the issuance of a order to search & seize. The lady should have her property returned, along with punitive and compensatory damages awarded. Oh yeah.
  5. This case, on the face, is far worse than a simple B&E. Armed, trained agents of the government, without probable cause, illegally entered a private, secured habitation, removed privately owned property... so on and so forth. This case is a textbook, classic example of 4th, 5th, 14th etal amendment(s) violation. The warrantless search rules are not in play anywhere if the events are as related in the original post. The lady should do well ( $$$) after/when the dust settles.
  6. Gotta disagree with you. If the energy of the hit goes to the eye wear first. Then the eye wear becomes the issue. Which will yield first? Your skin? Your eye? The rigid frame? AGAIN.......... Just my opinion.
  7. Hi Scott..... I also agree with your statement. However, the OP has 6 jumps. A riser across the face from a poor body position on deployment could be just as bad as contact on a speed exit in competition. Scenarios that could occur are endless. Like I posted earlier. "Call me old school". BTW, I took your advice on the Night Hawk. Thx.
  8. Call me old school. A hard lens that can fracture to a sharp edge can gouge an eye. So can aluminum or hard plastic frames. Sooner or later, you will be in the sky with others. That's when the full contact aspect of this sport will surface for you. Getting a foot or elbow in the face combined with the dynamics of high speed in free fall will hurt badly enough with out adding a severe laceration from a jagged edge. I recommend soft Kroops.
  9. "There is no such thing as a perfectly good airplane."
  10. "Unlike in the US, in the UK the BPA carry out regular DZ inspections to help prevent this sort of thing." That is good to hear. Let us hope that the BPA can be of some assistance the the OP. But..., you must admit, it does make one wonder.
  11. Makes one wonder what other "shenanigans" ( like penciling in aircraft maintenance) they are up to. Perhaps getting banned from that DZ just might not be such a bad thing.
  12. LOL...... The question of VB's sobriety did occur in the conversation yesterday.
  13. (Sigh...!) Well, bachstupil, (sp) if you act like a Nazi, then go eat like one....... Ende.
  14. baloney........ Go eat a strudel or something
  15. VB has no ideas. He's anti-American. Period. We exposed him yesterday as a fraud with no capacity for rational argument. The guy is a fraud. Ignore him. Debating him is a waste, as he is.
  16. Even better....... Wing walking on jets!! That should get the blood pumpin'....
  17. We have had our car stolen. The thief ran a red light; hit and crippled a woman, destroying her car. Thankfully her child was unhurt. The woman's husband wanted to shoot the thief, for sure. Hypothetical situations are not valid. I live in the real world.
  18. Yes, I have been " burgled", and no I did not shoot the MF-ers because I wan't there. HOWEVER...! Had, I been there, yes, I would have ventilated the bastards, with no qualms what-so-ever. As an aside, I have a concealed weapons permit, and I'm always armed. I have, in 30 + years, not needed to pull, yet.
  19. (Sigh)..!! Another Swiss yodeler who has nothing to offer in the discussion, except a website he is familiar with. Embarrassing.
  20. Doooooooood...... You have yet to refute or rebutt one single argument I have made. All true. BTW.. Your english is excellent.
  21. My last post was on your side of the discussion. Are you drunk? BTW...... You still have not shown me where I'm wrong.
  22. "Swiss citizen Friedrich Leibacher entered a regional Swiss parliament building and used a rifle to kill 14 people before killing himself. Strangely enough, this wasn't his personal army issue weapon, but a private version of the army issue rifle. He committed suicide with a pistol and used an improvised explosive device." No "family drama" on this one. Perhaps you do have a point. ANNNND... it was not his Army issue weapon.
