  1. No need for a cup but definitely make sure your junk cannot get under a leg strap (guys) Only happened once but it made a 5 min CRW jump last a lifetime and for some reason my mind kept wandering away from the rotations we were doing... 5. Years ago In the Bill Booth student training video's he made reference to death, dying, and injury many many times and still students chose to jump after watching them - I don't recall any ever backing out because of that video stressing the potential carnage. Personally I would rather see students confronted with the "what can happen" and make a fully informed decision than have them peering at their choice to jump through rose colored glasses because of the typical DZ bullshit of how reliable ram air canopy's and AAD's are. - each and every jump has the potential to go catastrophically wrong no matter if its your 1st or 10,000th. Perhaps a few would rethink their decision once they were informed that the insurance was available but I am pretty sure the numbers would be really low. Roy They say I suffer from insanity.... 6. My early jumps were written down in exact detail, some with drawings but then I got ratings and started doing back to back loads with no time to write down the what/when/who... then at the end of the day I would write the dive down with info on the where and when but nothing else. then I stopped logging altogether kinda wish I hadn't done that now... 7. In theory Its supposed to keep a newer jumper from pencil whipping his way to an expert license and/or getting on jumps they are probably not ready for. But it doesn't keep a determined cheater from doing so. Roy They say I suffer from insanity.... But I actually enjoy it.
  8. I was the videot on Mandy Patinkins tandem. His son had a blast but Mandy... not so much Best I got
  9. yup! went to a so cal dz with my logbook back in the days that I actually recorded my jump numbers but ever since I got my D license I never get autographs unless its someone famous or infamous. She looked at it and said "sign that last jump" to which I replied "uhh what?" then I signed it... Roy They say I suffer from insanity.... But I actually enjoy it.

    Walmartians

We have two wallmarts here in Yakima, the one on the east side has a magnet that pulls mentally ill people in - or so it seems and you can find some glorious examples of WTF there everyday. the wallmart on the west side of the city doesn't seem to have the large herd of weird people. 14. When I was young which is before the 'sue everyone for anything' mentality really got going we lacked safety warnings on many things and we got along just fine without them, we rode in vehicles without seatbelts, rode motorcycles without helmets didn't put our fingers under a running lawn mower, if we dumped a cup of hot coffee on our laps (who hasn't?) we jumped up cussing but realized it was our fault... I am just waiting... sooner or later someone will damage their eye with a fork in a diner somewhere and sue as the establishment did not inform them that forks have a pointy end... whatever happened to getting hurt doing something ridiculous and or negligent and saying ....damn that was a stupid thing to do...cant believe I did that! some of the things I see in print these days leads me to believe that humanity is losing IQ points at a rapid rate... 15. damn... send me that persons info, I'll give em my identity
  16. Is it too freaking much to accept peoples differences? what in the hell is the problem if someone prays in a different manner or to a different diety anyhow - while they are doing thiers silently send yours to your god... I don't believe in any god however I will still bow my head in respect for the belief of those around me if and when a prayer is invoked. bunch of childish fuckers in this world... Roy oh damn... just realized I agree with you....worlds gonna stop spinning any moment! They say I suffer from insanity.... But I actually enjoy it.
  17. and a frenzy it is, I was in Cabellas getting 200 rounds of 55 grain 5.56 on Saturday so I could spend the day at the range - next to my selection was the 'evil armor piercing" rounds in question. I had my ammo in the basket and while I was talking to an employee about the ban we are hearing about two guys came in together and wiped out all the *cop killers* -LOL - they probably got slightly over 1k rounds but while they were shovelling the boxes into their baskets they were giving me the evil eye like they were worried I was gonna reach into their basket or protest... or something. 18. There are a bunch of them. Most have some sort of release that needs to be pushed to release the pistol. A couple have multiple releases. With a bit of practice, the "release" actions become part of the normal "drawstroke." The releases are not hard to operate, you just have to know where they are. The problem occurs when the adversary knows about them too. I volunteer as a range officer at my local shooting range. I'm not a big fan of civilian open carry, for a variety of reasons. I had a guy who was a very vocal proponent of it, and he had one of the Blackhawk models. He was certain that it was ideal for open carry because it was impossible for someone else to take it out (or so he thought). He wasn't real happy with me when I came up right behind him and stood there for a few seconds (he wasn't paying attention to me), and then reached up and pulled the gun out of his holster. The easiest way is to get right behind them and use the same hand that they would, in the same orientation. hah, I bet he wasn't happy at all, the Blackhawk I like is a very simple system and provides a single action to activate the release - it gives some security, far more than the open top kydex that is so popular these days but can be defeated by someone doing exactly what you did - In an active struggle for the firearm it would make it much more difficult for another to take except when they are part ninja and sneak up on ya... (looking at you!) I conceal carry to add another level of firearm security - they cant sneak up and take what they don't know I have. I have to open carry when I take my son to Oregon as they don't have reciprocity with Washington but I am just there to drop off and pick up my son, I stay with my car with no need to enter any establishment - also I really don't like alarming anyone even when open carry is my legal right. I am enrolled for the Oregon ccw course on the 18th so soon I wont have to open carry at all and am really happy about it
  19. the type III retention holster has a lever you push with your trigger finger which as you slide the weapon out places your finger above the trigger at the bottom of the slide above the trigger - which is where it should be until your on target and ready to fire. I really like the Blackhawk design. Roy They say I suffer from insanity.... But I actually enjoy it.
  20. I will never understand Why anyone cares what any adults do before anyone brings out the bible as the reason... let god punish them if that is what he wants(which I doubt) - a person doesn't have that right The old joke is : let them marry, why should heterosexual people be the only miserable ones. 25. and how are things with you? for me I go into the VA tomorrow for the primary exam and then Tuesday with the specialist to determine if its time to uninstall the original equipment (knee) and upgrade to more high tech joint - I want the 007 model with the hidden 40megawatt pulse laser no complaints so far - dealing with the VA is usually painful and frustrating but with all the negative press they seem to be more user friendly atm.
