  1. well, its been a while but that's a lot like when Yakima county got threatened with a lawsuit because the jail had over 70% Mexicans 15% whites and 10% blacks incarcerated in the jail - RACISM!!! never mind that the Mexicans were committing the majority of the crimes and getting caught... Yakima started trading inmates with King county to bring the stats down on what races were incarcerated... what a weird world we live in... statistics don't lie They say I suffer from insanity.... But I actually enjoy it.
  2. to be truly helpful you should be on standby to aid in the removal of the hot brass They say I suffer from insanity.... But I actually enjoy it.

    hard deck

your not the only one who does this with over 2k jumps I have been bounced on when what I was thinking didn't translate to what I was typing. oh... and don't forget the fun that can be had when you post while really intoxicated! Roy They say I suffer from insanity.... But I actually enjoy it.
  7. doesn't seem that long... They say I suffer from insanity.... But I actually enjoy it.
  8. I agree with everything you said. but I think he was in the mindset that they would show up with guns and think its far more likely they would have some form of IED. which would put his family/friends/neighbors in a whole lot of jeopardy. I do hope he has thought of this - after all he went through I personally don't want to see him die to these cowards. Roy They say I suffer from insanity.... But I actually enjoy it.

    eaten alive

didn't make much sense to me either one of the weirdest/ dumbest stunts I have ever heard of Roy They say I suffer from insanity.... But I actually enjoy it.
  10. you have 900 jumps using a throw out now, I guess the question would be why would you want to change to a system you haven't ever tried? you might hate a pullout Roy They say I suffer from insanity.... But I actually enjoy it.
  11. In a way its a great idea, the one I used for snowboarding was called a dbs buttpad (purchased it somewhere around 1994 and I jokingly referred to the dbs part as "don't break shit" - it enabled me to take some pretty bad hits to that region when I messed up - but it was all padding with no plastic shell so it was a bit limited - my concern with using one for skydiving would be someone using one for skydiving and relying on it might be accepting of hard impact landing/slides - yeah the coccyx might be intact with the protection worn, but what is repeated impacts doing to the rest of the spine? 12. That isn't a stupid questions. When it comes to this sport the only stupid question is the one that isn't asked. be cautious of warping an elliptical canopy - my stiletto didn't like opposing inputs but on a square it doesn't do anything weird or scary. I have no idea if it would help with tension knots or not but I kind of doubt it as your canopy would still be fully inflated - but hell, if you had a lot of altitude it would be worth a shot
  13. Hope they enjoy the dick pics I'm gonna take. and some people wonder why we hate and fear our government... Roy They say I suffer from insanity.... But I actually enjoy it.
  14. you took the oath, you served, you could have been called up at any time. your a veteran whether it was in peacetime or during war. Roy They say I suffer from insanity.... But I actually enjoy it.
  15. I love all the quotes from that link some of them were ones we actually used back in the mid 80's. this one made me laugh the most Roy They say I suffer from insanity.... But I actually enjoy it.
  16. ya gotta remember that was from the continental congress... when the hell did congress ever get anything right? took a few years for em to figure out Marines were the best and totally in their own class Roy They say I suffer from insanity.... But I actually enjoy it.
  17. I haven't experienced the dropping sensation you describe beyond my first couple jumps - it fades pretty fast as your brain gets used to "ohhhh, this is normal" - when I leave the airplane now I feel the relative wind pressing on me and can use it to maneuver - although less than what I can do at terminal - once at terminal it feels like the wind is holding me up. only you can decide what is fun, balance the risk vs reward. If the fear of falling is too stong then how much fun are you really having? my fear of jumping started fading around jump 15 and was replaced with anticipation by 30 - thank god the adrenal rush kept me coming back till then
  18. closest I could find to what you describe is: Resolved, that two Battalions of Marines be raised consisting of one Colonel, two Lieutenant Colonels, two Majors & Officers as usual in other regiments, that they consist of an equal number of privates with other battalions; that particular care be taken that no persons be appointed to office or inlisted into said Battalions, but such as are good seamen, or so acquainted with maritime affairs as to be able to serve to advantage by sea, when required. That they be inlisted and commissioned for and during the present war with Great Britain and the colonies, unless dismissed by Congress. That they be distinguished by the names of the first & second battalions of American Marines, and that they be considered a part of the number, which the continental Army before Boston is ordered to consist of. —Resolution of the Continental Congress on 10 November 1775 Roy They say I suffer from insanity.... 21. My rigger did this as well. fair is fair. Roy They say I suffer from insanity.... But I actually enjoy it.
  22. personally I think its a great idea - you will know immediately if your sliding or moving around or if your the slightest bit unstable in a very controlled setting. your anxiety will be lower and you will be able to focus on what you want to do without the adrenaline rush of freefall. imo it will help put you "in shape" for your step back into the sport. but being out for that long prior to being licensed you should definitely find out from the dzo/s&ta what will they require you to do - I would expect it to include sitting through the jump course again and a jump with an instructor prior to being recertified good to go solo. 23. I have helped quite a few new camera users over the years with setups and advice and have yet to see a single person just plop it on their head and go skydive without it interfering with the success of the dives. its in the back of their mind that its there and the camera flys them in a way- they fly different than when its not present.
