  5. I have been wondering for years why none of the crazy nutbags in this world ever pick things like this to go nuts in... as he leaps out with a wildly running chainsaw engine giving everyone a start - with them all assuming there isn't a blade they begin to laugh... till the body parts start flying They say I suffer from insanity.... But I actually enjoy it.
  6. you don't seem to understand just how cheap life is in the over there - force and violence are a way of life - no compassion - your different *race/religion - your to be killed - its been that way for centuries and doesn't show any signs of changing at all - you don't seem to grasp that they are well armed with modern weapons but are stuck mentally in a religious fervor from the distant past. you cannot reason with these people - they believe god is on their side they are fighting the enemies of god and they cannot lose - they commit atrocities in the name of their god daily. so what is your solution to the insanity? How will you reason with the unreasonable? Roy They say I suffer from insanity.... But I actually enjoy it.
  7. its the oil of course would be nice if we could do the right thing for the right reasons yeah... I know, Im dreaming Roy They say I suffer from insanity.... But I actually enjoy it.
  8. so are you advocating ignoring organizations that behead our people? should we stand by when they drag hundreds of people at a time out behind buildings, murder and bury in mass graves - give girls barely old enough to have their first period to their fighters as prizes? personally I don't agree with arming the rebels - put our troops on the ground and eliminate the shitheads once and for all once they are identified - do it swiftly and send a message that this shit wont be tolerated. and no... its not a perfect solution - that doesn't exist, but ignoring the problem/crimes/evil isn't a solution either. 9. not bad ya old fart! hey! anyone older n me is oooolddd! plus that 21 years in the military.... now dat adds on da miles! Roy Ps: just noticed the date you started jumping... southern state DZ or overseas? They say I suffer from insanity.... But I actually enjoy it.
  10. I walked into my corner mini mart to get my morning coffee on the way to work - the family that owned it were all standing there watching that morning. not sure how long I watched just as stunned as they were once the 2nd hit. I was very late to work. I wont ever forget that sickening feeling Roy They say I suffer from insanity.... But I actually enjoy it.
  11. The xbox 360 has a bajiilion games - like the others said you should be able to get a unit for a fair price as it is an older console - there are some really cute games for it using the connect sensor - it reads your body position and movements to replicate them on the game - the snowboard one my kid and me plays wears me out
  12. the president of the USA is merely a puppet with someone's else pulling the strings - been that way for a long time. Both have fuckups on their records. But being accused of racism when I don't like what Obama is doing pisses me off. so by default +1 Bush Roy They say I suffer from insanity.... But I actually enjoy it.
  13. I cannot respond as a Base jumper, I remain a sissy skydiver with a second chance when all goes fugazi. but I was part of the base crew at a bridge near lodi when a friend went in with a partial canopy - he was lucky enough to live with a broken tailbone and ankle when he hit the only deep pool there and it was probably only 4' deep... from what I saw of the seven jumpers not a one was suicidal, all so full of life that it was a rush to be a part of it. all measured the risks and packed their gear with extreme care. to stand on a ledge and know you have one shot has got to put you into that moment so totally that skydiving pales in comparison. 14. they were reserves with a pilot chute attachment point and many ended up as mains - if memory serves you had manta, falcon, raven as the best of the non zp canopys - the raven had much better performance*(imo) gotta remember that non zp canopys take a lot more material to bring you down soft new non zp opened hard landed soft - as they aged the two turned around a bit Roy They say I suffer from insanity.... But I actually enjoy it.
  15. an auto pistol are notoriously hard to keep on target - handing one to an understrength child with a full mag was a really poor decision that cost him his life and scarred a child for life me and my son got a chance to shoot an antique sten when we were in Arizona visiting a friend - my son started out with a mag on single shot then on auto with a mag loaded with 3 then 5 then nearly full mag - gave him time to get used to the recoil so he didn't end up off target and it was not an automatic pistol by any means - he had fun and demonstrated amazing accuracy with it - that 50 year old wpn fired like it was brand new even though the looks of it ... wow, it was definatly not a polished unit. https://www.google.com/search?q=sten+gun&biw=1128&bih=575&tbm=isch&tbo=u&source=univ&sa=X&ei=HGcLVPb8NKXHigLA9IDgAg&ved=0CCwQsAQ Roy They say I suffer from insanity.... 16. your welcome :-) Ravens were awesome for their time and hell, even though they cant compete with zp they are a great canopy :-) now my micro raven on the other hand is an evil bitch!!! Roy They say I suffer from insanity.... But I actually enjoy it.
  17. raven I - 181 sq ft raven II 218' raven III 249' raven IV 282' this was my downsize path till I hit zero porosity
  18. it is valid - many of the antigun crowd feel that by disarming the honest/law abiding people in this country that somehow magically gun crimes will just stop. we have mexico right next door - a border that if it were a boat couldn't hold any amount of water - our govmnt doesn't want to secure it and the mexican govmnt is complicit in the drug trades - both guns and drugs flow freely across it - right now I am pretty sure its more drugs than guns but if guns were banned/confiscated I have no doubt that the balance between the two would shift a bit as profit could be had. They say I suffer from insanity.... But I actually enjoy it.
  19. a simple concept seems to elude some folks if we ban guns across the board the criminals/ gangbangers will still have them and still be committing the same crimes they do now get rid of all guns in the USA you say? how? do you think criminals will obey some bullshit gun registration law when they ignore all other laws *(hell- do you really think even the non criminals will obey a gun registration?) we do have a problem in this country but it begins way before a lowlife gets their hands on a weapon. They say I suffer from insanity.... But I actually enjoy it.
  20. muscle memory can be a great thing, can also be the worst thing in the right (wrong) situation. watched a very experienced friend blow through 1k then throw his main. it worked out, the canopy ride was about 5 seconds but he beat himself up over it repeatedly since he knew to use his main- but to use his words "I didn't consciously decide to pull the main, my body took over" Roy They say I suffer from insanity.... But I actually enjoy it.
  21. so what exactly is your plan for getting the illegal guns out of the criminals hands?... you do have one right? with 200$ on the street I can have a decent handgun in Portland in less than 30 min - I imagine I could do the same in any major city. full auto might take me a bit longer but I have no doubt I could get one. drugs and guns flow across the border - taking them out of the hands of law abiding people will accomplish little. this was a tragic accident with the root cause being complacency. oh, and nobody Packs a full auto hand cannon on a day to day basis other than the criminals we are restricted to semi auto. sure wish you guys in other countries would learn what the hell you were talking about before engaging your fingers on the keyboard. Roy They say I suffer from insanity.... But I actually enjoy it.
  22. Be social & learn names don't be a wallflower ask questions - but always confirm the answers with your instructors don't join in on the bashing others buy beer don't try to force your way in- that will lead to them talking about you in a negative way - being a nice social person will give you your "in" with time - the regulars see many students that fade out - once they see you your committed they will likely warm up to you. and when you have 100s or 1000s of jumps remember what it was like to be the person on the outside looking in Roy They say I suffer from insanity....
