I honor Murtha's earlier military service. But Murtha violated that pledge the day he turned on the Marines and slandered them unjustly. He was welcome to change his opinion about the war, but he did so in a dishonorable fashion. And he was the poster boy for out-of-control pork-barrel spending which is destroying this country. Therefore, "Semper Fi" ceases to apply to him, in my opinion. I know that some will criticize me for speaking ill of the dead. But I'm just saying what many are already thinking in private. So just because I'm out in the open with those thoughts, doesn't make me any worse than those who thought it and kept silent. Murtha slandered our Marines and wouldnt apologize. Bolden is a dope, IMO, obviously not a fan of manned space flight, despite his background. The new Ares promised to be the most reliable vehicle ever, and for decades to come. Also, it was well along in development. The new tech stuff is a pipe dream. Many years in the future, if ever, which is my belief. Think about it, a modern Cessna 182 is not radically different than a 1955 model. Naturally, it can be built lighter, and great electronics, but the physics is still the same. That doesnt change. Enjoy the last 5 flights, as I will, this is the end. All the 'future stuff' they say is a lie. BO and his ilk hate manned flight, it makes us look good. He cant stand that !!!!!!!!!! You can deny it, but it is true.

In fairness to any President - long hours, high stress, lots of speeches delivered, often without much advance review of the text, especially for the less momentous events. Yeah, they're going to sound tired sometimes, not unlike candidates in the middle of a campaign. that's not a one time error due to fatique, though. nor is saying '57 states' ( I have not heard any other American say anything as dumb as 57 states) Clearly, this is the smartest guy ever !!! And he is not an example of affirmative action, either. To top it off, this one seemingly insignificant fellow singlehandedly has killed Nasa, one of the United States' greatest achievements.

Mike made some jumps with us in early 70's in Stroud, OK when he was a GK. We were shocked to learn of his accident although I dont recall when that was. I have a photo of him jumping a Para Sled that day ( he was trying it out and did a great accuracy jump.)
