Excuse my ignorance, but can someone who knows a good deal about these planes and costs etc actually tell me how much it costs to fly that plane? They had to get it to the airport somehow.. i can't imagine it costs anywhere close $2400.00 for half an hour including the maint. for the AC for that half hour. Then again like I said I have no idea what i'm talking about.

They'd be fine with the one that goes in after a jump, however in case of fire it takes some creativeness I believe on someone's behalf if you know what I mean :) you can probbaly read some of the previous threads re. this camera if you don't know what i mean

I might be reading what you are saying incorrectly, but the birdman suit was designed by Robi from the ground up - not in an attempt to mimic DeG's suit. Robi told me he had only seen one picture or so of DeG's before making the first prototype birdman suit. I haven't heard anything, but I'd venture to guess that Adrian Nicholas might have them. He was there when the incident happened and continued the "wingsuit dream" with his designs, he just never commercialized on them. He was a good friend of DeG and I believe was active during the whole development of DeG's suit. Kevin

I'm starting to play with Adobe Photoshop Album 2.0, the one i'm playing with is the free version but a registered version (with all the bells and whistles) is about 40 bucks. Pretty nice and it provides a "burn to disk" feature.

Wow when was that paradigm in place? I've never been in that situation (maybe when I was a student? I don't know).. my current rig has a hornet 135 main and a tempo 150 reserve, my next one will probably have a reserve of 135 and a main of 117ish.

I think I made that statement once.. And for the most part that is true.. 4MB/sec is something almost all cards can do. The part where you really see the difference is when you are reviewing the image... Iwan I'm not sure what you mean 4 mb/sec is something most cards can do - if most cards can do it, then why aren't most cards doing it in the cameras when tests are done?? Kevin

Man, someone put me off on this website and my jaw dropped to see the speed diff between the d70 and all of the high end canons!! the d70 came in at 4670K/sec for raw compared to the 10d at 1384, and the 300d at 1305K/sec all with the sandisk extreme -- seems to be the fastest card out there. I thought there was some debate on here that "oh it really doesn't matter what card you use, the camera bus can only write so fast" ....

Unless you know how to telnet and use sendmail commands, its really really hard to send a truely anonymous e-mail. And its very easy to track down who sent it to you. Uh? How do you figure? In this situation someone goes and gets a hotmail account called "igotmyeyeonu" or something, sends the email.. and it's done. Unless the recipent gets a subpeona I seriously doubt it's "easily traceable" to the person who sent the email in this scenerio. In fact the using the telnet sendmail thing may raise more flags than just doing the free email way. Going into someones mail server and trying to spoof email could be considered illegal in some cases and thus a subpoena could be generated to track you down. Likely? Absolutely not.. possible? sure.

Do you have the one from the either TX or AZ police heli crash about 4 months ago? That's great footage too! And some good audio.. could hear the pilots staying cool under pressure.

Its the same fabric that is being used with hang gliders.. I saw that suit at bridge day.. it is a sf4 prototype, not sure that is what he was flying in the video but that's what's in the picture. Mylar ribs in the wings... and that funky fabric on the leading edge.

Boy my ADD really was working today. I got home to fnd out the protrack said 40 seconds exit 5400 deploy 2300 and the neptune said 50 seconds exit 5,500 deploy 2400.. not sure which one to believe Sorry for the making myself look like a badass when i'm not :-) I coulda sworn that it was higher though.. I wonder if I did 2 balloon jumps while I was out there *thinking* Kevin

Assuming you pulled at 2500, that is an average of 26mph. Is that possible? In the "3 minute men/women" thread people are making a big deal out of 40mph averages... (though admittedly, those averages are over longer durations, hence more difficult). I think i have it on the protrack at home.. Groundzero was there on the jump with me. I might be having a brain fart, but i'm pretty sure that was the time. I remember Gray (can't remember his last name) got even longer than me but pulled super low... If I am having a brain fart, then its 50 but definately not lower than that. I'll find it and upload the screen cap from the download.. Kevin

BTW a few of you guys have talked to harbortronics.. do they guarantee they won't F up your camera when you send it in for the mod? And what do they do if the do F it up?
