  1. The slacker says he's too busy to buy it.. :) I've got mine and i love the camera, haven't jumped it yet cause i haven't had it modded.
  2. LeRoy, weren't you saving for your skyray?
  3. So, one of the highlights of the american boogie was supposed to be the 750 xl jump plane, they've been talking about it for months - in fact earlier this year when I was there they were saying how the first one that crashed was supposed to be theirs and that the replacement would be there for the AM boogie. So how is the plane?
  4. This may be an aside statement by you, but if it's a massive blood loss situation why would you need an AED? Didn't sound like it was a heart attack though you didn't say what the problem was. I still remember my first save.. it was a heart attack, which an AED would have been helpful for... Kevin
  5. Correct me if i'm wrong, but ever since the actual "S-Fly" suit came out it hasn't had that link (manual for the s-fly) that is a link to the original S-Fly Manual, and clearly shows it wasn't in that model. Think it was only in the MTR1/Crossbow series.
  6. Uh and I"ve only seen one suit fly 10 feet above a mountain slope, and that was a S-Fly. Does that mean that the S-Fly is the only suit that can do it? Uh no. Suit performance is 70 - 80 % the pilot. And I'd tend to agree that you can't say that the suit takes longer to inflate based on those few pictures, because the body position on that exit was totally different than the other jumpers. Also, any pics of the Phoenix Fly floating around?
  7. A few days ago I received a "thank you" from Bev (Holly's mom)... it was a closing pin. In itself it was a very nice gesture and I was touched, the accompanying card said that it was like the one that went with holly's ashes.. which didn't make much sense to me since there hasn't been an ash dive yet. Only after talking to Bev to thank her did she explain the significance. They took one of Holly's closing pins to a jeweler who made a mold of it and made duplicates, then hollowed out the inside and placed some of Holly's ashes in then sealed it back up. They did a remarkable job as it appears to be a real closing pin. I thought this was a great idea and it means a great deal to me - now a part of holly can be with me on every jump. Bev also wanted to let everyone know that she wishes she could have sent all of Holly's friends but they had to limit the number they sent out for obvious reasons. Has this ever been done before that anyone knows of??
  8. What about having two out and then having a hook knife ready so when your 2 canopies go into a down plane you can cut the lines of the damaged reserve, would this be the best chance of avoiding an entanglement?
  9. Birdman is going to continue to function (as the Press release states) but as to all the other questions I would have to defer to Jari or Robert. Kevin
  10. Who the hell is Bob? Don't you mean Pat Sajack (sp) from Wheel of fortune? Bob (Barker, price is right) is "1.00 please bob!" :)
  11. Just out of curiousity can you tell me exactly who NEEDS a Xbraced canopy? Last time I checked the core purpose of the canopy was to get you to the ground safely... nobody NEEDS a Xbraced canopy any more than I NEED a ferarri or my own private jet.
  12. press release here on the front page of flybirdman
  13. True, but the point was to figure out what suit he was flying, and if he had been flying a s4 it could be possible that is what he was flying there.. not that an s4 would make a hell of a lot of difference on that flight.. but being able to see the mylar ribs from that video is damn near impossible.
  14. How can you be so sure? The differences between the s3 and some of the s4 prototypes are difficult to see from a low quality video
  15. You sure it was an S3? He had an S4 prototype he was jumping at one point. I talked with the rigger this weekend who put the lines on that canopy before Luigi jumped it said there was a documentary being released on it.
  16. The most critical part of wingsuit flight is pull time, being stable is necessary. If you reach back to pull and end up panicing it is not a good situation. The 200 within the last 1.5 years or 500 total was the number of jumps that was deemed a skydiver was "current" enough to be comfortable with the situations that come up with birdman. Thats not to say that there are plenty of 200 within the last 1.5 year / 500 total jumpers that have no business jumping a wingsuit or some sub 200 jumps that would be fine in one. They are recommendations.
  17. That was the end of our weather hold :) Maybe was down 1 hr and it didn't even rain on us, just passed some black-ass skies over real quick. Other than that, sunny all day!
  18. Uh no where in the article does it say they were "forced" to land. Perhaps the pilot is a dumbass?
  19. Nope wasn't us, were not anywhere near the Dullas holding pattern. Next time you might want to do alittle more research before bashing some one elses business. Lance Hey Lance! Before you accuse me of bashing an operation, check out what "wonder" means in relation to a sentance. It was a question, not a statement. Of course, since all you quoted was the last half of the sentance maybe that's all you cared to read. When DD asks if a plane that was involved in a crash was part of a (named) parachute operation - is he BASHING their business? These are all rhetorical questions/statements that don't need replies as they will only deviate from the topic at hand. Kevin
  20. 6 new birds! :) No problemo! You were really doing great with the suit, can't wait to flock with you some more! Kevin
  21. Spent the weekend in delmarva, de (skydive delmarva) spreading the love... man we had some good times! link to FBM post with pics as they won't fit on this post. Kevin
  22. NE of dulles and a cessna, wonder if that was Parachutes are Fun... in MD.
  23. Didn't we all? I'm blinded! 1st Picture: Balloon drop at new years eve party yields prizes 2nd picture: an event solutions staff member practices freestyle routines and on the sides it says photo courtesy of skydive arizona.
  24. On FBM.com, it appears the "boogie" is actually only 2 days, it's the halloween boogie I believe.. the skills camp is the week long thing which requires the cha-ching.
