A global temprature increase of 10C would make some countries in the world uninhabital. In 2003 the french government estimated that 10,000 people (mostly elderly) died due to a heat wave. If Global tempratures increased such that this abnormal temprature was the normal then we would have 10 of thousands dieing each year in Europe alone. low lying countries / islands would submerge under water making them unihabital due to a rise in sea level. It's not the size of the bottle it's the size of the measure they pour out of the bottle. Is that a USA thing. I don't think or have never heard of it being used in the UK. We all have things that are sensored from public transmission. I read this line a couple of times before I understood what I Thought you ment. Yes , parents should have the right to monitor / censor what their children watch on TV. Thats why I said there should be a warning before transmission. 83 p per Litre. 4 Litre Per Gallon (roughly) 6.38 per Gallon. I just filled up recently and it cost 37.00 . That is a possible answer. But without actually knowing the extent of the problem then we will never (100 %) know the error involved. No , If the machines arn't reliable why use them. I don't know all the different methods of voting in the US but surely there is a better way than using inacurate machines. It would stop the Kerry supportors speculating about possible iregularities and they would have to accept the Bush win. I don't know , no one knows. you said there was problems with all voting machines in America this might be an exageration then again it might not , no one knows the true depth of the problem. I know if it is close then a recount can be asked for but if a machine has logged an incorrect amount of votes then a recount is a moot point. The US probably does have one of the best voting systems in the world, but there is still room for improvement, Are you happy with one of the best or would you rather have the best. I agree that you can never get 100% acurate system but even you admit that there are flaws with the machines. I do remember the problems with the card punch machines they used in Florida the last time. Thats why I don't understand why one piece of technolgy was replaced with another. As I said in an earlier post what is wrong with putting an X in a box on a piece of paper. it's been used for years and it is accountable. I understand that you still get a number of spoilt ballot papers using a paper ballot, but i don't think we would be seeing threads popup about conspiracy theories as it would be easier to prove who one in a recount. I don't think that I am a liberal neither could I be classed as a republican. I don't think it matters anymore who got the most votes. Bush Is the President and thats that. No amount of griping is going to change that. But the funniest part of it all is that you all know that there is a flaw in the system and you will possibly use the same machines (or something similar) next time. In 4 years time when you stand at the new bright and shiny voting machine and cast your vote , will it matter if the machine doesn't count your vote because there is an error in it software. I used to do it quite often in one of my older cars (Volvo 240) , it had central locking so you could push down the nipple to lock the door then step outside and slam the door shut whilst thinking "were the fuck are the keys" I done it probably 7-8 times, but the key for the trunk was different to the ignition so I kept it on a different key ring from the ignition & door key and I kept a length of packing tape in the trunk which I could use to break into the car (very easily) . My present car has a door lock and open button on the key fob. I haven' t managed to lock the keys in this car yet. This is a Scottish newspaper and laws made in Scotland are not law in England. Scotland has it's own legal system (along with education system etc) which differ from England. I welcome any change in law that will try to cut down violent crime. Johnrich has posted before (I couldn't find the post) about how violent the UK has became and then he wonders why we try and ban the carrying of weapons (Guns and knifes) in public. As far as I am aware it's been against the law to carry offensive weapons in public for quite a while now unless you have a good reason . I really can't understand why there is a need for machines for voting. All the confusion that was caused by the paper punches in the last election and there is always room for error or abuse with electronic or programable machines. I can't understand why putting a X on a ballot paper is not good enough any more. After all it's been used for many years in many countries and it is accountable.
