  1. Not quite. There is plenty of energy but we are having problems moving it around to where it is needed. At the moment Britain and mainland Europe are suffering from a lack of HGV tanker drivers with the correct credentials to move hazardous cargo such as petrol (gasoline) diesel and LPG. Sadly this has caused a lot of lemmings to go out and panic buy as much petrol and diesel as they can cram in their tanks which has caused a short term fuel shortage. By this time next week the petrol stations will have had more deliveries and lots of people won't need to fill their tanks as they will still be full from the panic buying and the fuel shortage will be gone. To compound this problem there has been a fire in Kent at the National Grid site where the powerline between UK and France is situated. This has caused a spike in wholesale electricity prices which has caused a lot of of the smaller players to go bust because of the business model they were operating under. As far as cold weather brought on by global warming. This is just not true. Last week we were seeing temperatures as high as 24 deg C which is about 6 Deg C above the normal temperature for this time of the year. It is a bit cooler this week with cold fronts bringing rain in from the Atlantic but since this is the first rain we have had for about 3 weeks it is quite welcome. And when I say it is cooler this week than previous weeks or months. I have changed my shorts for a pair of jeans but we are still not ready to switch the heating on. I see the original poster presented a short (inaccurate) sentence about the fuel problems in Europe at the moment then went on a rant about possible blackouts in California so maybe the title of this thread is a bit misleading and should be about energy production in CA if that is what he really want to talk about.
  2. I didn't believe that anyone would be stupid enough to fill up plastic bags with gasoline until I saw it with my own eyes https://twitter.com/FiendishlyYours/status/1391990487222001666 It beggers beleif that anyone would be that stupid
  3. If he is facing jail time he might not want anyone highlighting his past role as an informant. I believe there is a phrase "Snitches get stitches" .
  4. The UK Government (and others) have been testing the waste water in sewage to get early warning to local outbreaks. Less invasive but same science. I suppose once you find a local spike then you test individuals by whatever method deemed best. If I had to go and get tested then I would rather get the mouth or nose swab rather than stick my arse out the car window to get probed. Forgot the links https://www.gov.uk/government/news/sewage-signals-early-warning-of-coronavirus-outbreaks MIT explaining how it works
  5. Trump's lawyer Joe diGenova said Krebs should be 'executed' https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-9003843/Trumps-campaign-lawyer-says-fired-cybersecurity-chief-Chris-Krebs-executed.html 'He should be drawn and quartered. Taken out at dawn and shot' Is this acceptable (outside North Korea) ? Should the FBI be going and knocking on diGenova's front door? I'm having a hard time trying to understand why reasonably educated people are falling for Trumps lies. I assume you wave to have some intellect and education to be a lawyer these days but I'm happy to be proven wrong. or maybe he hasn't fallen for the lies but has a vested interest in perpetuating the lies. either way it's very sad to see America acting like this.
  6. Im pretty sure they had troops in Bush's Gulf War
  7. See new Tweets Tweet Mark Knoller @markknoller · Sep 17 Chief of Staff Mark Meadows says WH aiming to have 100 million doses of Coronavirus vaccine ready to go by end of October. Says goal is to make the the most vulnerable and highest risk people are vaccinated in that first group. Says up to 300 million doses would be ready in Jan.
  8. This is a recent Trump tweet. I don't know what to say about it. We have claimed, for Electoral Vote purposes, the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania (which won’t allow legal observers) the State of Georgia, and the State of North Carolina, each one of which has a BIG Trump lead. Additionally, we hereby claim the State of Michigan if, in fact,.....
  9. If Rudy is so easily duped by Borat imagine what he would believe from a professional Russian intelligence officer.
  10. For some unknown reason (to me) , while we do have standards for televised news programs there are no standards for "Newspapers". That's why we have rags such as the Sun, The Daily Express and the Daily mail. Surprisingly Rupert Murdoch owns both the Sun and the Times. The Times used to be a newspaper with credibility and was the polar opposite of the Sun but I cannot vouch for the Times now as I stopped reading it when Rupert bought it. Plus it's behind a firewall
