Funniest, I was in ZHills about 5 years ago and there was a student coming in but wasn't going to make it. He landed in a near by field on a cow. You're right it is a stupid thought. By doing something like this you are attempting to solve one problem by creating a bigger problem. A good friend of mine had 2 horseshoe malfunctions because he had a leg deploy PC while flying video and deploying through the wing. He was lucky twice. A little slow, I would have changed to BOC after the first Mal and told him so. He said "oh no that won't happen again". He now has a BOC. and how would a pilot know if a jumper was intoxicated? Most DZs I have been to the pilot doesn't get much time out of the plane let alone have much contact with the jumpers getting on the plane as they are usually going back to back. Willy growing old is inevitable, growing up is optional.
