  1. I invite you to look at this website: http://www.paralog.net/ppc/index.php Competition rules: http://www.paralog.net/ppc/rules.php Event rules: http://www.paralog.net/ppc/eventrules.php

Pretty straight forward actually, connect the logger to computer and hit the "read flysight" button It can also read your neptune, you can double click on the graph window on the bottom left corner to look at the speeds and glide ratio and distance You can try it for free and hookup your neptune to get an idea of how it works while you order the flysight

Well I could not be happier with my http://www.flysight.ca/ combined with the paralog software... Gives you all the info you need and you can compare your tracks with others at http://www.paralog.net/ppc/ This stuff is all made by wingsuiters for wingsuiters and works just as well for tracking and I think even the swoopers use it so... I haven't really seen or heard of anything else that does it all and does it as well as this
  4. I dont think that setup is any less dangerous without one haha... I would like to know more about the dangers related to that camera setup
  5. WTF? How do I get mine to do that? Firmware upgrade?
  6. Your ProTrack logs more than 119 seconds?
  7. Although I do see manufacturers looking into fully integrated rigs/suits, I think that might be something to look at for BASE because skydive rigs are just too expensive. I have a rig and just want to upgrade the suit not go for another reserve & AAD on top of it Also I don't see wings getting that much bigger than what we have now!I recall a post somewhere here about Lurch making a suit with ALLOT of leg wing and he seemed to think it was a very bad idea to keep going in that direction So to answer the question, I don't know where the manufacturers are heading in the near future but I think it will only be small tweaks for some time... I would love to be proved wrong!
  8. Pretty sure both require 200 skydives so why not see how you feel about it then? Not to mention you could do both! My opinion is to get a wingsuit though, you can never be too prepared for BASE
  9. That's right Skwrl I have seen a couple of these threads here about how much experience needed to ride but what about the bird... Or horse? Seems like it would be more important for the wingsuit pilot to have a decent amount of experience. I mean hell, I landed out on my (checking logbook) 26th jump and 28th and 35th! Granted I had nice outs but still... I have just over 100 wingsuit jumps now and when I think of the risk/reward factor on rodeos I much rather chase and I feel like it is usually taken too lightly among new wingies. Just the other day I witnessed a wingsuiter with a dozen flights take someone on a rodeo and thought he was either oblivious to the dangers or simply did not care and even after pointing some of the dangers he went so...
  10. I don't get your point, in a diamond formation there would be room for foot docks... there would be some tail munching but still
  11. I wasn't around when the proposal for the grid was discussed/passed but I think it must hae been disscussed to great lengths here and elsewhere... I recently had a chance to talk with Scott Bland who said, and I quote: "If you guys dock a 4way diamond, you will be the first in the world!" So my take on the situation is that rather than have a 3way be the world record they just went with something easier. I think it should be docked formations, that way people would work on that more rather than loose flocks... but hey I love loose flocks cause I can actually get in there lol
  12. Wanna double check that, "database query error occured"
  13. Didn't Parachutist publish an article featuring XRW over Elsinore like 2 years ago? :: I believe it had a shot of JT riding on Jeff's wingsuit on the cover
  14. I would just like to point out that some wingsuiters do not have the experience to be jumping the larger suits they are jumping and that might be the case in some of those tailstrikes! Rating or no rating not all DZ are going to have a wingsuit instructor What can a novice skydiver say to someone with a few thousand jumps but only 20 wingsuit jumps to make him realize he shouldn't be jump one of the largest suits in production? Not all DZ are going to have a WS instructor to enforce the safety standard.
  15. Yes and yes... At least I thought it was! Then again I never have been to those places or met those people so I thought it was cool. Better than renting a "blockbuster" for the same price
  16. I went down the same path, got into RW to learn to fly my body AND to fly relative to others (this helps allot for wingsuiting too) I went to 4way camps and even a couple bigway camps and learned as much as I could and when the time was right I spoke with a wingsuit coach and sat in on some ground courses he was giving others and would hang around for the debrief and listened to any questions the students were asking. I did that a few times and he also gave me stuff to work on, like exiting and pulling as if I had a wingsuit on so when ever I went out for a hop and pop I pretended to have wings on. By the time I did my first flight course I was actually comfortable doing it and now after my first wingsuit bigway camp I realize how much it helped to learn RW skills (like diving to a formation and flying your slot)
  17. Thought of this thread today... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h4j-NWkhrb0&feature=youtu.be ::Make sure you watch it in HD
  18. Did you ask for the pocket or is PF doing that standard now?
  19. Would you mind sharing what size you are? Height/weight?

    x2 or v4

Wouldn't that depend on what you want to get out of the suit/jumps? I am no expert but by looking at the suits it seems that X2 is "fatter" than V4 and I guess that would translate to more drag so less forward speed than the V4? Just seems like two completely different games to me. I like speed and distance so I would go for a V4! I think...
