  1. Hey Chris, just so we are all on the same page here there is a difference between the Recon Mod/Mod Live thing and the Flight HUD Limited edition they released for the skydive/BASE environment... Get a Flysight ::if you don't see "Flight HUD" on the website it is because they are not available, to buy some you will need to buy used ones
  2. I am just confused about the fact that if it is physically on your tablet and you can access even when there is no internet connection how will it know if a friend has borrowed access to the cloud? Doesn't it have to connect to know?
  3. LOL Just when I thought I had it figured out... So if you lend the cloud version to a friend you no longer have access to your copy on your device?
  4. Hey so when you say "it lives in the Amazon cloud" does that mean I need internet to access it every time or I can download it and read it in the subway/car/airplane?
  5. When you buy the book from Amazon, you'll want to do it via a Kindle reader or an application that is kindle-compatible. It lives in the Amazon cloud, so as long as you have an amazon account and a device/app that will display the book, you can read anywhere. The primary idea for the book is to have it available on a tablet at the DZ or in planning a formation. There is a free app for pc and Apple systems, and the book will open on the Linux systems using Amazon Cloud Reader. The file format is a .mobi file wrapped in Amazon Kindle security. Thank you sir!
  6. Hey so how does this work exactly? I download the file on my laptop but then can I transfer it to any iOS/Android/eReader device or will I have to select a specific version for any device? What file type will I be downloading?
  7. Think I would be more alarmed if they asked how to land it
  8. Not sure if this came from the internet but alot of folks up here are disconnecting RSLs when jumping wingsuits and it sparked a big debate... Could it be that Europeans (mainly the French) do it? This was the origins with the discussion, I was told in France you CAN'T jump a wingsuit with an RSL! I thought that was a pretty stupid statement but when you don't have much experience people tend to not put much value in what you have to say so...
  9. I shared this in a wingsuit group on FB after a local debate on wingies and RSLs... Thanks
  10. The worst thing for F'nD would be to have all these jumpers show up and not jump because of the weather... Let's hope the weather gods throw us a bone! I am very happy with the list of LOs, this should be a very cool event
  11. Skydive city website: 22-24 - Wingsuit Performance Camp; Time, Speed and Distance. Bring your suit and get coahing from the man himself - Tony Uragallo. FMI,
  12. 50$ mount when you order the flysight... just sayin' Mine is held by rubber bands so...
  13. So all that technology and yet Tuck Tape for the FlySight? Really? lol
  14. Because it was a direct response to DSE's "What do you want to do" comment and I was hoping both the OP and I could get in on it rather than making another thread about the exact same thing... If I was wrong I appoligize in the end I got what I was looking for in PMs so it was still worth it
  15. Hope noone minds if I highjack this for a minute lol so what would be a good road for someone that wants to do distance? I enjoy the social/flock thing but "my thing" is distance... I started on a BM Firebird and am currently enjoying my P2z which I plan on keeping in my gear bag till it tears off my back but somewhere down the road I want more distance and I think something like the Ghost/Havok seem slugish and better suited to float than to go far correct? So does that mean I need to go to Tony suits? I do plan on giving the R-Bird a good go in the upcoming season to transition to S-Bird or Vampire. I think that might be a good route for me but would be interested in hearing if there are other suggestions... Thanks!
  16. So in short, you loose depth perception. Recommendable to only rig that way in a skydiving environment. Depth perception may be a handy feature of our eyeballs in the base environment Just fly 8inches higher than you normally would
  17. Thats right I think the "return" button on main page lets you turn the screen off to save power
  18. I tried tried the right and left buttons, maybe give it another go... Do you need to hold them down long? And yes flysight is the way to go, no way I am buying a G3 for these
  19. Care to tell us how to zero the altitude Jeb? Cause I tried and tried and it just won't happen! Perhaps you got a "special" model or maybe we just got Jebbed?
  20. Mine arrived too. They are HUGE. Sure are, easily double the size of any ski goggles I ever had and I had a bunch
  21. Ok so I tried them on the bus and the driver confirmed speed was accurate and when ever we were going up or down a hill altitude seemed to change in real time but it will be interesting to see with greater vertical speed. Set the brightness to lowest and ha it on for a good 20-25 minutes and it took close to 25% ofthe battery. The whole time I was trying to figure out how to zero the altitude... Gonna try and contact them tomorrow I guess I would not recommend driving with these on lol In the end they seem work as promised aside from the fact there are no instructions in the box and we don't know how to zero the alti if at all Edit:: It took a solid 8-9 minutes to get a lock on the GPS signal outside
  22. I'm not impressed at the fact there were no instructions with them, going to the recon website gave me all I needed... Big button on welcome page! The fit is not great with me helmet (Tonfly 1x), they are as bulky as I expected them to be... I am impressed with the actual device though! Easy to see and not invasive Like Kallend said all I need now is a DZ
  23. I got a tracking number AFTER I got the gggles
  24. First of all... FUCK YEAH! Second always make sure you have a camera rolling when you take that out And third... Maybe try it where there no power lines GO hard!
