  6. I voted for pushing the envelope, abiet personal envelope if you don't in any dicipline/sport it's akin to saying i will never improve i will stagnate. It's the way an individual goes about 'pushing the envelope' that makes the difference i.e blindly or with education and a step at a time (slowly, slowly catchy monkey) .CHOP WOOD COLLECT WATER.
  7. He may also got his hand stuck/trapped in a dive loop. Has happened to me, got it free resulting in a mary poppins/minor dig, scary nonetheless. .CHOP WOOD COLLECT WATER.
  8. Hi VB, correct me if i,m wrong, but you seem to be taking Bills posts as a personal attack on yourself and your gear choices which they are most definately not. You're jumping a very high performance canopy which many believe including myself and i'm almost certain many of your fellow skydivers at your home DZ is beyond your current skill set given your time in the sport and your jump numbers par-se. I also believe you were jealous of Sangi when he started jumping the 107 hence the outting in the S & T forum, dispite him reverting back to the 129 Safire (ironically the same model/size as the canopy you currently jump) he still biffed in and now with the benefit of hindsight has seen the light. Bill amongst others is simply trying to help you see the same light and avoid another possible but senseless injury/death due to these things happen to others not me mindset. Since the Sangi thread which you started you've shown yourself up to be nothing but a hypocrite hence my suppostion of the green eyed monster thinly diguished as concern in that said thread. Your posts since, though sometimes amusing don't add anything constructive to the dicussions in hand and it would be grownup to show just a little respect for those you don't know as well as those that you do. You're formally invited to call me a Cee yoU Next Tuesday or whatever publically on these forums or via PM or if you like to my face (address can be supplied), i can assure you verbal attacks cause me no pain impacting with solid objects does and you should have it in your own interests to minimise the likelyhood of the latter. .CHOP WOOD COLLECT WATER.
  9. Thankyou for the clarity here Bruno. Hope to pay you all a visit in the new year, it's been a while .CHOP WOOD COLLECT WATER.
  10. The Icarus Safire2 or PD Pulse are worth considering. .CHOP WOOD COLLECT WATER.
  11. People seem to forget that no matter how the panels are cut at the end of the day they sewn together by humans not computers. FTR I'm on my 2nd European made XF2 since 2003 and no issues whatsoever, fantastic canopies imo. .CHOP WOOD COLLECT WATER.
  12. ironically, the people that see me jumping regularly, dont seem to care. .CHOP WOOD COLLECT WATER.
  13. One of the Babylon guys(Fred or Kuri but a while ago so can't be sure) 2002/2003 Hot day in August. The collapse happened at altitude above 2000'. Flying normally then it just folded and spun up. Stardard Velo i believe as the comp Velo hadn't been conceived then. Happened at Empuriabrava Spain which does suffer with some funky winds from time to time. .CHOP WOOD COLLECT WATER.
  14. I've seen this happen with a stardard Velo so don't kid yourself, canopy collapse for whatever reason happens. .CHOP WOOD COLLECT WATER.
  15. Can't see a problem with opting for either but if you want the all the "teddy bears" i.e skyhook then it's going to be a Vector,Jav or Icon if not the Seven looks like a v.good choice. .CHOP WOOD COLLECT WATER.
  16. Thanks for the update on your recovery . I think your last post does more to illustrate the results of bad decision making than the video and hopefully will reinforce the warnings often given to the madskillz crowd the frequent these forums. VB take note. Heal fast Sangi .CHOP WOOD COLLECT WATER.
  17. Were not increasing line length just riser length by maybe 2" as i said imo this would increase the amount of time it takes to swing back under the canopy i.e pendulum effect but its negliable. .CHOP WOOD COLLECT WATER.
  18. Hi guys, reading through the replies to this thread here's a list of my thoughts on the subject so far. 1. Increasing /decreasing riser length has no effect on the recovery arc of a given canopy as the planform and trim will remain unchanged. 2. Negliable increase in pendulum effect as the jumpers c of g has moved further away from the canopy. 3. Canopy feels different in flight due to increased toggle range (longer risers) possibly could be rectified by lengthening the brake lines accordingly. 4.Canopy feels twitchier on opening as the canopy is more sensitive to harness input (longer risers + something i have observed also). 5. Increases range when flying with rears, but also increases risk of stall/high speed stall on landing. 6. Obvious but worth a mention. Going too long decreases chance of collapsing/stowing the slider. Please feel free to correct me on any of my thoughts/discuss and add anything the may have been missed/not mentioned as yet T. .CHOP WOOD COLLECT WATER.
  19. I think the recovery arc will stay the same as were not changing the trim of the canopy. But do longer risers give the pilot a mechanical advantage allowing the pilot make the canopy dive for longer and increasing the initiation height, build up more speed in the dive = swoop faster/further .CHOP WOOD COLLECT WATER.
  20. Thanks for the replies. Davinci, you're right as mentioned in my initial post increasing riser length does move your C of G (center of gravity/Mass) further away from the canopy thus takes more time to swing back under the wing. But as Drew mentioned pretty neglible as were only talking about 2 to 3 inches. Stayhigh, what are the major flight differences you experienced when increasing your riser length from 23's to 26 inch risers. Cheers T. .CHOP WOOD COLLECT WATER.
  21. Hi guys, curiosity thing. 2 years ago ordered 23" stock upt risers with a new container.(which work well for me) I'm curious to what mechanical advantages/effects on canopy flight/performance there are with an increase in riser length, disregarding the limitations of physical reach. i.e moving your C of G further away from the canopy abiet only 2-3" .CHOP WOOD COLLECT WATER.
  22. My wife put 1000+ on her 2nd hand 135, loved it even though by her admission was a bit of a "tea bag" becoming porous. Great canopy in her opinion. .CHOP WOOD COLLECT WATER.
  23. Glad you're still here. Hope your video can serve as warning to others in regards to, just take your time and progress slowly in this discipline as accidents happen very quickly indeed. VB take note, seriously. .CHOP WOOD COLLECT WATER.
