  1. Please can someone define "NUT". We jump out of airplanes for example and to some/most non jumpers thats "NUTS". People do the strangest of things under duress things which more often than not can be described as 'NUTS". Hanging yourself after a breakup of a relationship for example "NUTS". I"ve made my position clear on the "gun in civilian hands argument before" shouted down with googled stats quoting that the UK have high/er firemans offences than most. Chery picking i.e. not stating that if you point a table leg at someone in the UK proporting to be armed the offence we be recorded as a firearms offence even tho no "real" firearm was present. Same goes for waterpistols and pellet guns. Is there anyone in the US who will agree that tighter gun controls across the board may go some way in preventing these types of tragedies where present Legistration is clearly failing. Rant over i'm done here. .CHOP WOOD COLLECT WATER.
  2. In a nutshell, yes. .CHOP WOOD COLLECT WATER.
  3. Vichy!! On one jump landed approx 8 Klics away with Tazzio who was organising freefly groups. We were mid load on that one. Don't know if they made a 2nd pass for the remainder. .CHOP WOOD COLLECT WATER.
  4. AN72 a flight of of fancy for sure, but i did enjoy jumping that beast, air conditioned, super rate of climb and a 200knot run in speed which can leave you 8 kilometres+/- deep of the DZ. Real world though, i love pilatus porters. Quick enough and a great door design. .CHOP WOOD COLLECT WATER.
  5. Here's mine... AN72-17000ft=6min +/- .CHOP WOOD COLLECT WATER.
  6. Andy is currently in hospital following a tunnel mishap resulting in a trapped spinal nerve (ouch)... .CHOP WOOD COLLECT WATER.
  7. Not in that extreme, but my N3 suffers with fairytale speed reading, 280's, 260's with 126mph average for example. Just trying to figure out at what point in the dive i can land without a parachute,as i having an empty cornflakes box standing by. .CHOP WOOD COLLECT WATER.
  8. Had the honour of talking s@!t over a few beers once. This really sucks. Fly free JT .CHOP WOOD COLLECT WATER.
  9. I had to wait considerably longer than 6 weeks. Man up and jump without one. At least that is was i did. .CHOP WOOD COLLECT WATER.
  10. Gap/Tallard France very nice. Also Skydivedive Jersey tho not a full time DZ every landing is on the beach. .CHOP WOOD COLLECT WATER.
  11. As a regular jumper at Headcorn i can say with hand on heart things have changed. Positive vibes, plenty of young enthusiastic newer jumpers and a excellent end of day social scene (though i'm too old to handle my drink these days). Seriously give it a go, as others have mentioned things and places fall in and out of fashion.. .CHOP WOOD COLLECT WATER.
  12. My N3 sufers with similar issues so i take all the speed stuff with a generous pinch of salt. However as an altimeter/cp tool i couldn't be happier. I,m sure the op would be pleased with either. .CHOP WOOD COLLECT WATER.
  13. I personally use a N3 just because the display is slightly larger than the L&B Viso. Also like the fact that N3 is rechargable via usb so no battery woes. On a minus note the logbook data is suspect at best so if you're a bit geeky about freefall speeds etc take the logbook info with a generous pinch of salt ( wrist mount mine so opinions on my last point may differ ). Plus points: Great visual alti Useful for canopy control Loud audible beeps ( If required ) Can be used has a helmet audible. Have many friends that use the L&B Viso without complaint So if you can live with a slightly smaller display and the need for the occasional battery change i'm sure you'll be happy. .CHOP WOOD COLLECT WATER.
  14. Shattered as in broken glass (ever tried putting a shattered glass back together) as opposed to break as in anything from a hairline fracture etc. .CHOP WOOD COLLECT WATER.
  15. John i think you've taken this thread out of context. (Please read earlier posts) I created it in the name of 'Fun' though i do appreciate that EP's are a serious business. As already stated intentionals don't count. CRW definately counts. And in the name of "Fun" maths doesn't count either so please no jump ratios per chop equations its simply who's had the most earns the crown. If you like you could start a cutaway avoidence, my gear choice and packing skills are unrivalled thread with all the facts, fiqures and top tips on symmetrical packing, with the jumper with"Lowest"ratio of cutaways to jumps crowned. .CHOP WOOD COLLECT WATER.
  16. Maybe should add: Intentionals don't count. Genuine malfunction induced rides only Edit: CREW induced rides also count. I was speaking with the local CREW kids "chopped @ 650ft agl" Hardcore .CHOP WOOD COLLECT WATER.
  17. Tunc you already have a "Real" performance canopy my suggestion is you start exploring it performance envelope. If you can't perform harness turns with it you're not trying hard enough. Think!! It's not the canopy it's the pilot .CHOP WOOD COLLECT WATER.
  18. It always amazes me how many of the mad skillz brigade don't even have the basic/essential skills squared away. I'm talking flat turns/shuffle turns etc and a competent level of accuracy here. ***king Darwins .CHOP WOOD COLLECT WATER.
  19. Ok fun poll but open for dicussion. Had my 3rd reserve ride the past weekend so thought it would be fun to find out who's the daddy when it comes to cutaways .CHOP WOOD COLLECT WATER.
  20. 10years is the correct answer imo. So I've been a skydiver for almost 2 years now . .CHOP WOOD COLLECT WATER.
