  1. Probably been said at least a thousand times already. Just dealt with Mike Maguire UPT spares for a replacement ripcord arrived today couldn't be happier
  2. Silk undergloves coupled with esquestrian sourced leather riding gloves. The well warm with feel combo. .CHOP WOOD COLLECT WATER.
  3. My better half brought me a pair of thinsulate lined, extrmely very supple leather gloves designed with winter horse riding in mind. I couple these with silk base layer gloves available at most good motorcycle shops. Warmth with feel .CHOP WOOD COLLECT WATER.
  4. Troll maybe .CHOP WOOD COLLECT WATER.
  5. Looks good, rare as rocking horse shit here in the uk. Only ever met one person who jumps one, so they're pretty exclusive. nice one Sorry virgin post directed to Lou. seriously nice tight looking rig, no gear fear there.. .CHOP WOOD COLLECT WATER.
  6. You say you can handle your present canopy perfectly. Could you land say for the next 200jumps, Center of the pit. As i stated earlier my first canopy off student status was a CoeD 170, F111 [man, i would have killed for something made out of Zero P] ]. I kept this canopy for approx 200jumps quickly learning that landing the peas was the better option when finally my CCI allowed me to jump my chute shop ZP150.
  7. You're right in what you are saying about there are no negatives in trading to a PD Sabre but no positives either you simply wont gain anything other than a PD label and you can get one of those when you're ready for something different. .CHOP WOOD COLLECT WATER.
  8. Unknown SA 155. I think you're the proud owner of a Chuteshop 155EXE not as unknown as you may think i still have my pre EXE, Chuteshop ZP150. I learnt a lot with that canopy, they're not bad. .CHOP WOOD COLLECT WATER.
  9. Good plan.. but whats wrong with SA 155.. As stated i've had two SA made canopies admittedly CoeD170 was a black art .CHOP WOOD COLLECT WATER.
  10. I learnt to swoop with a chuteshop [SA]ZP 150 pre EXE. I felt it was slightly steeper trimmed [ more ground hungry in full flight ] copy of a PD sabre i.e it's a square and it has 9cells.[SA Coed 170 prior to that] My point is the longer you hold on to a canopy the more skills you will acquire in time and these skills are what you take with you to the next canopy you jump. Downsizing or changing planform too quickly will ultimately slow down Canopy skill learning progression because an intimidating environment doesn't make a good learning environment. i've put in excess of 600 jumps on my present canopy and still, i feel i don't need something else yet [another 600 jumps might do it, maybe more. ], even though i'm cautiously confident i could land a smaller size/type canopy. As for flight characteristics read up on basic aerodynamics and watch youtube. .CHOP WOOD COLLECT WATER.
  11. I've jumped a Safire1, no experience with a Safire2, but i know canopy pilots who can really make those things sing Always remember, it's not the canopy,it's the pilot
  12. It's what my better half jumps .CHOP WOOD COLLECT WATER.
  13. but i got the wonderhog and the V3 on the mudflaps.. Me to, good choice .CHOP WOOD COLLECT WATER.
  14. Argh, you've obviously gone for understated chic .CHOP WOOD COLLECT WATER.
  15. We're all posers.. i've got micron stitched to both sides of mine. Some go for mirage or javelin or aerodyne etc, it's all about looking good at the end of the day with all the shiny stainless stuff and tie dye options etc .CHOP WOOD COLLECT WATER.
  16. Well said In fact the only kit i wouldn't consider isn't made anymore. Still think the original poster should be looking at quality used kit tho. .CHOP WOOD COLLECT WATER.
  17. My logic when purchasing the V308 was: I've made 600+ jumps on the XF2 and will probably be looking for a new, most likely smaller toy in say 400 jumps time, and as you pointed out there's plenty of room for manoeuvre with a V308. Owned a G4 previously which i personally think is of equally of good build as the V3 but i wasn't at all happy with the harness sizing MOS built for a balding midget! [you know who you are] who failed to tell me the container wouldn't be made to my measurements or the spec supplied with the original order. Now very pleased and proud of my new V3 minus skyhook [never had a rsl equipped rig and prefer to remain self reliant when it comes to emp's] not a great reason i know but thats me .CHOP WOOD COLLECT WATER.
  18. Strange that...A V308 is exactly what i brought for those reasons. Mines a PD126R/XF2129 combo .CHOP WOOD COLLECT WATER.
  19. I would recommend you look to the secondhand market to begin with and use the money saved on jumping .CHOP WOOD COLLECT WATER.
  20. Don't know if my 308 is sexy or cool, but it's mine .CHOP WOOD COLLECT WATER.
  21. Is this a post a pussy thread .CHOP WOOD COLLECT WATER.

    Helmets

Food for thought. http://www.dropzone.com/cgi-bin/forum/gforum.cgi?post=2717788;search_string=trigger;#2717788 .CHOP WOOD COLLECT WATER.
  23. To have a pin check, or not. It's all about choices, but if the plane crashes on take off like mine did and you're without head protection or you have the damn thing strapped to your chest strap for security, well good luck. .CHOP WOOD COLLECT WATER.
  24. To briefly interject in this episode of the urinary Olympics , most "camera helmets" should probably be renamed "camera holders" due to the lack of head protection afforded. If anything, a full video/still setup strapped to your head is a liability in a crash. This is due to the significant amount of weight causing additional potential for whiplash-type injuries. *** Tell me about it, but you're definitely better off with one on head .CHOP WOOD COLLECT WATER.
