  1. Pad-Thai Restaurant 25227 Redlands Blvd, Loma Linda, CA (909) 796-4962 Tell them it's your birthday. They have the most beautiful birthday song, guitars, etc. really nice.
  2. I voted for that law, and whole heartedly agree. We should be comfortable at our death beds and should be able to have the right to choose when we can go if we are terminally ill. Interestingly, at my med-school graduation, during our oath, many of us were silent when we where to repeat "and I'll give no medications....for the purpose of ending life, blah, blah blah, however it went. I was one who was silent.
  3. BTW, out of all of my pedophile patients, (185) only 5 are black (four of those are mentally retarded or severly mentally impaired) 2 are asian, one or two are mexican, all the rest are WHITE. perhaps the reason why the laws are so inadequate is that this is a white man's disease and white men are primarily responsible for the lawmaking.
  4. A very prominent Child & adolescent psychiatrist just got arrested for molesting his male patients. It is so sad to me that these monsters are out there. I work everyday with childmolestors. It'svery interesting to hear their stories about their perspective about their crimes. Out of 185 inmates that I see, 90% are sex offenders. Only three have admitted to me about their crimes. One despises himself, and stated that he knwe he was a chester at age 7. He felt most at ease with himself when he was moments awayfrom death after he hung himself. Another, is terribly depressed and guilty about his abuse of his biological daughter. A third, a schizophrenic male, pleaded not to be released by the state hospital because he knew he would do it again and did not want to hurt anymore children. He is accepting of the third strike law because he can never get out to hurt another child again. All of the others, claim not to have done anything, state the six year old came onto him, etc, etc. megans and jessicas laws are worthless. the dont address the issue of prevention. One thing that saves chesters is the Statue of Limitiations. It varies from state to state. Victims have anywhere from 5 to 10 years to disclose from their 18th birthday. Unfortunately, the predators often continue the abuse up to and beyond the statue, then drop the victim when they are safe from arrest. Many make it so that the victim is totally dependent on the perpetrator, and leaving is so difficult, that hte victim feels (and is told) that he/she would not survive without the perp. One way to possibly begin to change the situation is to end the STATUE of limitations. Often victims take years to disclose because of shame. by the time they are ready to disclose, it is too late. and the perp has already moved onto other victims.
  5. Not only does bad eating habits contribute to obesity, but there has also been research indicating that processed food is linked to violence. a recent news story that I saw, spoke of the dietary items served in schools and how violent some of the kids are. In a school where there is a last ditch effort to save these kids, the foods served are far supirior to the foods served at the regular schools. these kids were no longer violent and were able to concentrate better in school. their overall performance went up. I remember in school that everyfriday, we had chocolate milk. that was our treat. everything else we ate was cooked fresh in the cafeteria and was wholesome and nutritious. there were only two or three obese kids in the entire school. (this was 30 years ago). Since becoming a raw vegan (no animal products, jus fruit, veges, nuts, seeds, grains and algaes) my mood is better, I require less sleep, have more energy even when I can't sleep and overall feel and look healthier than I've ever been.
  6. Unfortunately, what is so sad about this case is that no one has addressed how mentally illthis individual was. While I haven't evaluated this person, I have surmised by the information available, that this person was a Paranoid Schizophrenic in need of treatment. apparently, he had just recently been released from a psych ward and supposedly stopped taking his medication. These types of situations should emphasize the need for parity and better resources for the mentally ill. When Reagan closed down all of the state institutions, he didn't open any althernatives for those in need of treatment. Most of those people died, the others cross-institutuinalized into the prison system. the others are wondering on the streets, homeless and suffering from their illness. Most schizophrenics are not violent. In fact, you are more likely to be violent with a diagnosis of depression than with a diagnosis of schizophrenia. but the signs this young man demonstrated clearly indicated that he had the potential for violence. Unfortunately, due to apathy, no one brought this to the attention of those who could help. And what is further sad, is that societies like the American Psychiatric Society does not step up and educated the public about mental illness, signs to watch out for and the need for parity and resources to treat people like the shooter. I'm disgruntled about my profession and my professional affiliation for things like this.
  7. Even the non-Mexican food places are made by Mexicans! that drove me crazy when I lived their. I love how hard working Mexicans tend to be and they have such good family ethics-but I hate their food. Go to downtown Redlands-there is a great Thai place that has a yummy martini bar.
  8. Why the Brits are so amused I don't know. Everyone knows they are the worst lovers. I should know, I'm divorcing one.
  9. go to www.theblueskyranch.com great vibes, brand new facilities. plenty of aussies. watch out for emma. and don't feed the monkey.
  10. I'm with you about the B-17. I know our sport developed out of the military. but, I just can't see myself leaving a plane at the same place where a bomb to kill people left.
  11. JP, you're back in California, they all do this. We'll both be back in NY someday soon where the drivers are much safer.
  12. suck on cinnamon sticks. They have the same oral fixation type of thing and there is something in cinnamon that helps cut down the appetite for smokes.

    Wheeee...

I remember my first quake. I had just moved to the Inland Empire in '99 and watched "LA Story." I took particular note to the restaurant scene when a quake hit, and no one was phased. Tables were moving around and people just kept eating. when it was over, two guys contemplated whether it was a 3.0 or a 3.4. A few weeks later, at about 4 am, the bed started to move. I thought it was the cat playing, so I yelled at him to stop. Then it really rocked. For a good 10 minutes. I went out to the living room, where I watched my 1924 chandelier swing like a pendulum. My roommates were scared to death. Because I had watched LA Story, I thought it was the norm. I just told my roommates to go back to bed. Later, I learned that it was a 7.0 with the epicenter about an hours drive in Joshua Tree. So it was a pretty big one. No wonder everyone was scared. I had been on call in the hospital the next night when everyone was talking about it. I figured it was pretty big news and didn't want my mom, on the east coast, to worry. So after I nonchalantly left her a message about the quake, I finished with, "Yeah Mom, that was the most action my bed had seen in a long time." My colleagues were appalled that I'd say that to my mom.

It looks like she may be a little constipated. start lightly rubbing her tummy in a circular motion, clockwise, if you are facing her.

  18. When I was about 11, my brother, 5 years older than me, got a hickey.I didn't know what one was or how you got one. My parents explained it to me. So, when they went out, I decided to give myself one on my arm, then on the other arm. Just suck real hard and yup, you get a hickey! My family laughed about that one for a year.
  19. just make sure its organic soy milk. about 70% of soy is genetically modified and heavily sprayed with pesticides. organic nut milks are good alternatives too.
  20. hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha I have so many hair stories but I think this one tops any that I have. When I was in college, I tried to wax my legs. followed the directions, put wax all over my legs, and tried to pull. This wax didn't need strips (yeah right) I couldn't get the crap off. After a few hours my entire dorm floor was in on getting wax off of my legs. I finally gave up and decided it would eventually fall off in the shower. I put on my black sweat pants, and when they came off, the black fuzzies were stuck all over my legs. it took about a week to finally get rid of it all. At about 32, I decided to give waxing another try. At the time I was dating a Pakistani guy. I asked our mutual friend to help me wax. She couldn't understand why I would need help because she had no trouble doing it herself. She asked my boyfriend "How bad could it be?" He told her "It's worse than mine!" A few years later, I somehow was successful with waxing my underarms. I had my girlfriend pull the strips for me because its so hard to do yourself. It is so ungodly painful. I would hurt for days. She got a big kick out of putting me in so much pain. Later, I shared a house with a male friend of hers. He excitedly enquired one day "when do I get to pull of your armpit hair?!!!!" I told him never. I finally heard about laser. It's worth every penny!.
  21. uh, I think your getting a little overboard.
  22. It sounds so frustrating for you. You may want to try some bed & breakfasts. Do a google search under maps, businesses, and put in Bed & breakfast. there are dozens of them in augusta.
  23. I too have been to madrid and to Toledo. If you make it to Madrid on the first wed of the month, you can witness the changing of the guard at the castle. It's very cool. Also, the art work between these two cities is amazing. there are three art museums every art lover should visit: the met, le louvre and el prado. The Valezquez and Goyas are exquisite. There is more incredible art and architecture in the castle. You have to vist "elbow street" the world's smallest street. there is great food in madrid and for a reasonable price. Toledo is beautiful and reminds me of Oregon. The scenery is incredible. My girlfriend got married at the cathedral there, and El Greco is buried there. It is a quaint cobblestone town. And you can buy pearls there really cheap! have fun wherever you decide to visit.
  24. Anyone remember the Friends episode where the 6 were discussing the strangest place they had had sex..and Rachel one? Where is the strangest/ most exciting place you have had sex? I'll start...On the wing of a Canadian Regional Jet.
