Did a gps jump just for yuri. after less than 15 jumps on the new "Super Mach 1"..............drumroll please .......7 to 1G.R. no just yankin your chain. from 11000ft to 2500ft I flew about 4 miles, not bad. Still figuring out the suit. This was my first distance run in this suit. I dialed in the speed vs. distance halfway through the flight then pushed it a little harder and lost a little performance. At about 7000ft It felt best and the gps read the same. I'll do it again and i expect better numbers. The flight was done heading south with light winds from the east, not much of a factor. I am 5'11" 190lbs out the door. THIS is a factor, alot of people post numbers without posting height and weight or wind conditions. If you are going to take advice from anyone, take it from someone who has flown each of the suits in question, extensively. Many people speculate what they think and/or have heard. The true fact is suit "A" might make body type "A" go faster forward, (more distance) and the same suit 'A' on a different body type "B" might come in second to a different suit "B" on the different body type "B". Unfortunately the only way to know is to jump each suit several times, in similar conditions, then you should know. As far as top physicle form goes I'm far from it and I did drink heavily untill 5a.m. the night before the comp. so I did not have any strenth advantage, quite the opposite. Not exactly correct. It should be "V2s are speed and glide demons, M1 gives you a huge wing and is easy to fly at low vertical and horizontal speeds". Nothing can currently match V2 for glide, period. I'm sorry my friend but this is not true. A mach 1 does fly a farther distance I can say this by having the experiance of flying both suits. The suit was designed to keep up with any suit while on its back

O.K. just to clairify this as everyone thinks the race to be an endurence challenge. This is not true I am not in great shape I smoke and drink lots, don't exercise, eat shitty foods half the time and backfly on more than 95% of my jumps (the entire time). So my chest muscles are not that strong. It was the design of the suit that makes it possible to fly for 3 and a half minutes without getting that tired. As for Robbi going the furthest on the first jump, I flew in a max glide body pos. instead of max distance just because I was not sure how I had to fly to win. At the end he started falling faster due to the long wing tip grippers putting to much strain on his muscles. If I had gone into max forward speed right from the getgo I would have gone much farther. On a side note jumping with Robbi was an honor and was probably one of the most memorable jumps I've done. I can't wait till we jump again. And this endevor in no way was meant to hurt Robbies business. When I started wingsuit flying I could not believe that every skydiver did not wingsuit fly. So I kept asking people and got the same reaction from everyone so I set out to design a suit that I felt everyone would fly. At the time I didn't care about better performance it just went in that direction almost on its own. The vindication for me was when all the people that said they would never fly a body bag started flying our suits. Now I am taking that to another level and putting people with as little as 100 jumps through a 4 jump pass or fail wingsuit coarse and so far I am having success. This is done with our student flyer wingsuit that is available for $400.00, and we will buy this suit back for $300.00 credit torward any of our wingsuits when you are ready. This year their were very noticeable improvements in everyones skill level as well as alot of new pilots. Despite all of that the Mach 1 was still able to fly farther than Robbi's V proto as well as having more lift, even on its back.

Agreed, you can get a 39 mph average out of a Phantom. The simple fact is wingsuit performance is varied in the same suit depending on the weight and height, as well as exp level. Perfect example Flora, Tony's daughter in an aerobat (with less than 30 ws jumps)can "almost" keep up with me in a Mach 1. She is my height and 40lbs lighter. Just to clairify, Chuck exited on his belly (in a Blade) and me under him on my back (in a Mach 1), as we flew along the Mach 1 was clearly getting more lift and more forward speed while still on its back. When we where on our bellies together the Mach 1 had even more range vertically and horizontally. Chuck at one point did a fast 90 degree turn, made some separation and punched it out, I had no problem closing the gap. The Blade is the same size as our Raptor. The difference being a Raptor has shorter wing tip grippers and a straight trailing edge, where as the Blade has V1 lenth grippers and scalloped wings making the effective surface area nearly identacle. The legwing "width" is identicle but the Raptor's legwing legth is a couple of inches longer. We started out with longer wing tip grippers and found they caused more fatigue, so we shortened them and moved the suface area to the wing root. This made the suit easier to fly and led to longer flights. I am 5'11", 190lbs. out the door and have flown the Raptor for 182 seconds from 13,500ft. to 2,500ft. I have done 204 seconds in a Mach 1.
