if you have your legs staight and your upper body straight and just bend at the waist you will get a small performance increase. Instead produce a smooth curve from waist to shoulders so shoulders are in front of waist(in standing position) so instead of just bending at waist you bend a little in the waist and a little in the stomach and a little in the rib cage(this part is more difficult) and a little in the shoulders so what you have looks like the camber of a wing, a nice smooth curve. The amount you have to curve your upper body is directly dependent on your individual center of gravity and the suit. Everyone is a little different so what works great for one person might not work as well for another. This is the body position for farthest distance. If you are going for time do not roll your shoulders instead keep upper body flat (above rib cage) slightly raise hips (curve stomach upward to make airflow flow smoothly to leg wing, dont just bend at the hips this creates more drag) and "hug" the air (imagine a straight line thru your shoulders your elbows should be slightly lower than the imaginary line, then your wrists should be a little bit lower than your elbows) the SM1 requires less air hugging than a M1 Without rolling your shoulders roll elbows forward approx. 90 degrees. If your looking at your left arm that is a clockwise motion. legwing should be opened all the way toes pointed. It takes a little while to dial in any suit. It sounds like you are flying an angle to steep to support the kind of flying you want to do (going for time) and maybe a little to steep for forward distance as well. If you want to cover the most distance "slightly" roll shoulders and curve your entire upper body forward. The smoother the curve the better. To slow down forward speed while back flying bend knees and hips as if you are in a seated position while still on back, point wingtip grippers at ground this is the slowest position of backflying. At this point you loose lift so you have to push your armwings back even more to compensate. When i backfly i usually just point wingtip grippers at ground and stay within the range of most flocks. yes like tony said when you are on the ground and you pull your legs apart the end of the tail will curl over this is due to the trailing edge being round. When in flight this does not happen at all due to the rock solid inflation of the suits

if you want to get max lift "hug" the air a little less than in a Mach1, hips high. If you want to fly for max distance slightly roll shoulders and go into a slight dive, if you are doin it right you should feel like you are balancing on a knife edge, to much and you go into a steep dive to little and you don't get the forward speed. We definitely have made way more variations than that, but to date have released only 9 suits. who knows at the rate we are going we might have 44 suits released by next month, and Tony will defy you to out fly him in any one.

actually we are still working out the details of our W.S.I. program more time is needed just because of my busy schedual. I am training insrtuctors personally. In the past 18 months i have taken just under 400 students on their first flight coarse. So I have gained alot of experience as an instructor. This is what has delayed this program the more students I jump with the more refined this program will be. I have studied the BMI coarse and will apply some of what is taught to the WSI program. This as you may have noticed is not a tonysuit intructor program but a wingsuit instructor program, and is to be used to teach people to fly any brand of wingsuit. I have personaly witnessed both the BMI coarse and PFI coarse being taught and both need work this is were the WSI program will fit in. The plan is for this to be a standard if you have a bmi or pfi that you earned it will be honered but you still need to take a coarse with myself to be wsi rated. Right now their are less than 10 WSI's out there. Every one has had extensive training. No ratings are handed out like with alot of bmi and pfi ratings. Well John you now have a partner in crime, Betty bought a suit and she is going to make you fly. She got hooked pretty well and she made me work to stay with her. You will have a tough time staying with her in your S1. I also left some suits for others to fly. Kirk (gear store and pilot) and Dave (pilot) both fit a raptor that i left so make them fly with you. S.D.C. is now a wingsuit dropzone, and this is only the beginning

It looks like they could push the leg stance a bit wider...but that's about it. the planform of our new mach 1 is the same as our old Mach 1. The "Super Mach 1" leg stance is slightly narrower but longer. I have explored the wider leg wing, 60 inches, it was crazy. I realized just like flying head down the wider the leg stance the more drag you have even though you have more surface area it slows forward speed. To fly for the farthest distance across the ground you have to curve your upper body forward to just before the point of going into a dive. If you are doing right you will feel like you balancing on a Knife edge. We compaired the surface area of a Mach 1 and GS1 and yes the Mach 1 has more suface area. GS1 is a taxing suit to fly but it does have a good punch when you find the sweet spot, it seems to be pretty well balanced and needs a better inflating leg wing.
