  6. Out flying yourself is the true test.. Yes, but even then the pilot needs equal exp. in each suit and an unbiased opinion. Cool suit, you should make the right hand wing cutaway handle orange for true yin yang balance and while your at it the right hand bootie cover and zips, also orange (yes they make orange zips). And if you pick the seam on the back of the wing you will notice an improvement in performance due to extra range of motion.

  9. Please reread There are two areas in wingsuit flight that laminar flow is ALMOST acheived. I capitalized ALMOST for one. Then finished with: Basically the air separates farther back along the wing than normal "not quite laminar." No. That's still a profound misunderstanding of what laminar flow is. Laminar flow is not just "air flowing over the top of the wing". CORRECT Laminar flow is the air not becoming detached from the surface. Most plane's need the air to detach from the wing surface to get better response to the control surface areas. After it detaches it now reattaches with more force, getting more pressure on control surface areas. And my friend Yuri perhaps if you get 9 of your "friendly male friends" to do a stack you will be flying higher than you ever dreamed and not have to leave the ground.
  10. There are two areas in wingsuit flight that laminar flow is ALMOST acheived. one is in a steep AOA dive there is a point when instead of going exactly on the angle you are pointing you drift more forward(as if you are pulling out of the dive) this is an increase in lift being created (this only works well on a wing with a leading edge shaped better than your arm) I realize this when I am jumping with Ryan Scarlett who weighs over 300 out the door. when he is flying along he is level with the horizon and I am at a much steeper angle but we are both flying the same path though the sky. at this AOA there is air flowing over the top of my suit I know this because I can feel the air on the belly of my suit (I am backflying in this example, of course) The other time I have experienced this is (again while backflying) I fly up underneath someone, both flying at a high forward speed and when I get into an exact spot at an exact speed i get pulled up into them (they are not falling on me) This is due to air being forced over the top of the wings creating more lift. This is similar to the ground effect planes get flying close to the ground but not exactly the same. Basically the air separates farther back along the wing than normal not quite laminar. So here you go yuri your future wingsuit the "BI"plane cause I heard you swing that way

  13. "The Vampire was significantly faster than the SM1." Sorry to disagree with you James, the fact is Tristan had less than 20 or so jumps on a super mach1. I Know from experience that a SM1 is Faster than a Mach1 and I was able to out distance Robi while wearing a Mach1, with him in a highly moded Vampire. So how does a Vampire loose to a Mach1 and beat the even faster SM1? The answer is experience in the suit.

  21. lets not take this stuff into the personal attack relm. I can say (and i have a s$/t load of video to prove it) there is nothing you can do when you see a streak of color jet past you at less than inches away. No reaction time is quick enough personaly I am f?%#ing sick of near misses and being hit its only a matter of time before someone is mamed for life or killed then we can all stand around with out thumbs up our asses wondering how it happened to us. Or we can plan this s$!t more safely. I strongly disagree with anyone doing a 180. Also if we dont start the breakoff early it becomes like it always has been everyone just separates a couple hundred feet apart and races for the dz in the same direction. If we need it i am sure we can arrang for cars to pick up the far people. This has got to be properly addressed and Scott please dont take this as a personal attack aside from a couple things your layout is very proffesional and well done. You have to know that there are always parts that will come into question when you plan something of this magnatude. And yes we are breaking new ground but lets not break bones. There is no other dicipline that does a bigway without doing dedicated camps to prep for the unseen. Nor are these done at open events because we are still in the infancy of this dicipline it needs to be done in stages hell i am catching slack for wanting to do a 71 way almost a year from now and there is a dedicated camp more than once a month all year. Lets shoot for figuring this all out in detail then people have a foundation to build off. Please dont take this the wrong way i am tired of being hit or coming within a centermeter of my life on an almost weekly bases. Aside from all these ramblings thank you Scott for taking the time and effort to put this together and I know you are open to critcism just dont take it personal. Oh ya one more thing YUR STUPID. Ha Ha I hope i will still get my christmas beer and not a jar of human procesed beer. BUY A WINGSUIT My Website Tony Suits [url "http:/
  22. i agree no 180's if anything people in back can slowly put on the brakes then do a 90 or less there is no way to predict there being nobody behind the formation. BUY A WINGSUIT My Website Tony Suits [url "http:/
  23. I think it is a bit much to be shooting for an 80 way within two months from now we have not had a chance to properly train for this. Flock n dock is an open event so aside from qualifying people at the event (which will cut the size of the group nearly in half) it is just to dangerous. As far as bigway breakoffs go it needs to be a multi stage breakoff, outside flyers peel off first at 7000 ft then the group that is next in line at 6000 and so on. the only way this will safely work is if everyone does what they are suposed to do without fail, this is something that does not happen at open events. people go home alot happier when they have had some degree of success and no injurees. lets focus on training people to qualify for larger events in the future. Remember the motto for flock n dock "no flyer left behind" the only way to safely do this is to rate everyones skill level then put them on the appropriate dive. I have been hit on many dives by beginers and experts so far luck has saved me and im not sure how full my luck hand still is. So lets shelf the get as big as possible idea and work on identifying what safety issues we have and where everybody is at in terms of skill level. As far as straglers go you dont see them on bigways because they get cut and are told to work on their skills and try again next time. Nothing personal its just the way it has to be.
