Wow did you see that I almost got chopped in two. On the dive I saw a blur it was so fast I couldn't tell who it was untill I watched the footage. Patience grasshopper, on a wingsuit dive plenty of time exists to get to slot. No harm done, on the contrary this seems to have awakened some people to the fact that we have a huge potential for collsion, even with experienced pilots. To see how two beginer pilots, that have no ties to any manufacturer, will fly would give alot of info as to what the average pilot can really do in the begining stages of w.s. flight in that particular suit. I know longer own a neptune and do not own a gps unit. mainly because I do not like to spend unneccary money and I'm not into the tech stuff the few times poeple have lent me their equiptment I have posted the results as unbeleivable as they sound. Mount a camera facing an alti on both wingsiut pilots. You can see the exact moment of exit, deployment and their respective altitudes. This can be timed by the camera. This can also record where exit and deployment are in respect to the distance traveled across the ground. Anyone can talk their B.S. about 7 to 1 G.R., but like I say to everone who asks about the performance of our suits, "You have to try for yourself" After they do I get the same response from everyone, " This suit is the best in the sky! I don't know who came up with the infamous 7 to 1 G.R. I'm not into that tech stuff, just into designing the highest performing wing suits. All I can say is at break off time when everybody is maxing out their suits, I am looking down and behind me at all of the other suits. When your in the plane watching wingsuit pilots exit they are falling down and behind the plane at a certain rate. That is my point of view at break off, everyone falls down and behind me at almost that rate. In a Mach 1 I can put 1000 feet of vertical separation between myself and other pilots(of other wingsuits) in seconds as unbelievable as that sounds. The pilots I jump with are mostly high experience wingsuit fliers, some taller and lighter than me. When they are flying Mach 1's I'm giving it all I've got to keep up with them. Don't get me wrong the V1 and V2 are nice flying suits and they were top of the line last year. I am looking forward to what other manufacturers come out with this year. Sorry but I have to argue with that one. A Mach 1 flies much faster forward speeds than a V1 or V2, also it has much more lift and is far less tiring to fly. It is good for flocking as well. sorry gents but the tall skinny guys win out on this one. I've had students that would give any top wingsuit pilot a run for their money, doesn't matter how many jumps you have, someone taller and lighter than you will be able to out fly you if they can fly reasonably well. Robi is about the same height and weight as me, so I would be interested in flying with him for max glide, maybe at flock and dock we could do a two way just to see.
