This past weekend, jumpers from around Canada gathered at Eden North Parachute School in Alberta for Gavin Days and Memorial Days Weekend and to attempt to break the current Canadian record of 18 set in 1999. People started to arrive on Thursday and by Friday, we had enough to put together 3 separate 9 way practices. Weather didn't cooperate until later in the day and everyone got at least one jump in. Saturday saw us continue with the 9 way practices in the morning then step up to 16 ways in the afternoon and evening. Sunday came and it was time to take our shot at our 25 way. Two attempts later yielded no success. Daytime turbulence caused us to stand down until better air arrived in the late afternoon. A decision to downsize to a 20 way for the next attempt saw the same result - but with a 3 way cutaway at the breakdown. Ground crews chased 2 of the canopies over 7 miles of Alberta and returned them just as the reserves were closing. After some more shuffling, we took off to attempt it again. We were using a Caravan as the lead plane and the 15 from that a/c slammed it together in quick fashion. The chase 206 dropped the rest off and they quickly took their spots. Success. I'm having a similar issue. I had some 8mm tapes copied to DVD. I copied those files and I'm trying to rename the largest vob file to .mpg but I can't see to do it in Vista. It changes the file name to whatever.mpg, but the file type still is VOB... Any help?!?

That is the best advice by far. Also, there are tons of great resources including http://www.photography-on-the.net/forum/. I use this site a lot not only for info, but for getting feedback on shots I've taken. There are also some great 'bibles' of photography that are worth a read. I found "Understanding Exposure" was an excellent resource. Most people underestimate or don't understand the importance of aperture, shutter speed and ISO and how they relate to each other... My .02 cents!

Yeah, I was thinking that by releasing the brakes, it would possibly clear the tension knot. I really only gave it one pump. I was around 2000 ft at that point and glad I didn't spend much more time pumping to try and clear it. As it was, I was under reserve just below 1000ft!!

HA! My first time not packing myself!! Might need to revisit that thinking the next time!! Yeah, like my friend said "You're paying for the pack job, not for the opening". Interestingly enough, it was my 2nd cutaway in 3 days!! First one was totally my fault...bad body position on a wing-suit jump...spun up in line twists on a Sabre2 135... I think that was why I fought the line twists on the camera jump so much - no damn way I was going to cutaway twice because of line twists!!
