Having experienced the Bosnian conflict first hand, it was obvious to me that religion had little or nothing to do with it. The vast majority of Bosnian men had never been to a mosque prior to the outbreak of the war. The sides never ralied under the religious banner. The media and others found it easy to group them into Catholic, Muslim and Orthodox. Although the roots that could be traced back hundreds of years did have religulous ties, the issue in this conflict was a about weak men who could realize power by injecting fear and panic into those that believed them. These were not religious people, rather those saw an opportunity to control others and seized it.

Absolutely not. What does make you narrow minded is when you publicly ridicule those who do believe in Santa and teach others to do the same.

I guess my point was that it's awful simplistic (and in most of those cases, blatantly false) to associate those actions to religion.

So does that mean that if anyone who commits an act of violence or a group of people is responsible for an attrocity, it is their religion that is the cause of that violence?

wow. 3 pages of replies and no one has mentioned the 'play it by ear' method... in the middle of the night when you don't feel like turning on the light and blinding yourself, you have to 'sense' that you are standing in the middle...then you slowly start to go and listen for the right sound - that you're hitting it right in the middle of the bowl. If not, you have to gauge where you are and adjust accordingly. Worst case is that the first sound you hear is it hitting the wall or into the garbage can... Chances are if you ladies are finding traces outside the toilet, it's from the nighttime piss.
