  1. One had >1000 one < 100. One cut about 1000 ft. and delayed reserve deployment, the other cut about 600 ft. Would have saved one, maybe the other would have lived.
  2. Our S&TA is also a TM and was a passenger for a new TM. As a joke he was given a new certificate and is now sure to point it out to his passengers showning how he "Just started a few weeks ago himself"
  3. I haven't gotten skydiving OR parachutist this month. Who did I piss off?
  4. I wanna destroy..possibly! Cause I wanna be...ANARCHY!
  5. You meant to say "She"'s into drag, I'll bed "her" without any alcoholic influence....
  6. From thestraightdope.com: Well, you can't blame the chickens. They started out flying, after all. At least their ancestors did. The ancestor of modern chickens, the wild red jungle fowl (also a darn good name for a rock band), wasn't a great flier, but he could get around when he had to. The entire poultry family (chickens, turkeys, guineas, ducks) are adapted to living on the ground. Their beaks are better adapted to pecking off the ground, their feet to walking instead of perching, and their wings are smaller than other birds their size. At work about a year ago, a wild turkey somehow flew into a 3rd story window, got stuck in the window, then the bloody mess fell out and plopped on the ground. Animal control had to come and clean up the mess. There was a blood streak for a few weaks before it was cleaned. The person whose cube was next to the window went home because of trauma that day. Almost unbelieveable that a wild turkey could somehow get about 30 ft in the air and enough momentum to crash through an office window, but it sure the hell happened. Wild Turkeys can fly very well. They roost every night in the tree tops.
  7. Nope. We were all going to be there, but since you are going to be there, we're going elsewhere. Just Kidding! See you there Dan.
  8. I know nothing of Cullman but if you want to know about West Tn PM me and I'll give you the low down.
  9. My personal choice in the area is The Farm.

    Whuffo

Correct. From "Whuffo you jump out of airplanes?"
  11. You mean those things are actually alive? I thought they were born dead in the road!
  12. Agreed. He does a very good job of explaining the dangers of diconnecting the engine (jumper) form the canopy. Any sudden loss of gravitational pull on the lines risks collapse as well as tubulent conditions (due to wind or poor angle of attack) causing loss of internal pressurization.
  13. In that case the same can be said for crossing the street, swimming under water, etc.
  14. How the HELL do you get from Clarksville to Morristown in 3 hrs. That is some serious ass haulin'
  15. Judy, I know Mike was waiting on fuel to arrive this A.M. before leaving for Richmond. If it doesn't arrive, hopefully they'll have some at Bolivar. It would suck to have to sit out due to fuel.
  16. Ask you instructors to help you choose your equipment when you start, otherwise what you get may be worthless to you.
  17. Also need to be careful because a lot of Achondroplastic dwarfs have a C1 malformation that could be fatal on opening.
  18. Old canopy. Flies somewhat like a Sabre. Big difference from a Nitron (which flies like a larger canopy with a lot of flare) to a smaller Monarch. The flare power will be less and I think you'll like the way your Nitron flies much better.
  19. How I wish it were true that they were going out of buisness. I doubt their buisness will be affected much at all by this. They will operate under their own made up association.
  20. In Tn there is West Tn skydiving near Memphis. There will soon be one reopening in Tulluhoma (South of Nashville). They are both listed in the DZ sites here. PM me for contact info.
  21. Careful who you show it to. Someone out there may try to land it.
  22. When to buy your first rig, and what needs replacing on it is something that should be discussed between your rigger, your AFF instructors, and you.
  23. Yes, you are only allowed to wear a single harness. Told of this when considering a similar stunt. I'll have to look up the BSR if I get time.
