  4. The whole point of that clip is that the guy chopped low without a Skyhook (or any rsl for that matter), then pulled his chest strap, then his reserve handle. He landed/hit with what looked like a 90% inflated reserve. Get in - Get off - Get away....repeat as neccessary

  9. Comparing skydiving to suicide is asinine. I skydive because I want to live. Suicide is when some loser gives up and wants to die. That instructor probably uses that douche bag-esque quote to impress whuffos Get in - Get off - Get away....repeat as neccessary
  10. Everywhere the President goes...EVERYWHERE...there is a Marine with communications equipment capable of launching nuclear missles at any counrty in the world. How does he ever really get a "mental break"? Get in - Get off - Get away....repeat as neccessary
  11. FEMA is not a first responder. The flow chart would go: local, county, state, federal. This would mean FEMA is the last responder. And as you move down the list from city to state etc, the size and complexities increase and take longer to get going. Where was the remaining 65% of the LA National Guard? Where were the LA State Police? Where was ANY local or state response? All I saw was the Coast Guard...which is a federal agency by the way. Why did the City of New Orleans not have a command/communication network in place that could survive the exact disaster that they would be required to respond to? 12. Apparently all the dark skinned individuals in South Africa under Apartheid didn't agree with you...because under your philosophy they should all still be basically enslaved and just be happy to be alive. Get in - Get off - Get away....repeat as neccessary
  13. What does Canada have to do with this discussion? The original poster of this thread was talking about Bush, New Orleans, and the war. My response was in relation to all of these. Canada is not. Get in - Get off - Get away....repeat as neccessary
  14. [reply. Organization was sorely missing in NOLA, and the city itself can't be blamed since it's infrastructure and emergency services were wiped out. The organization had to come from outside. The city and state are MOST to blame. Their largest menace was a storm and flooding, and they didn't have the where with all to establish procedures and communications that could prevent and help survive this. This is the city county and states fault. It's not the Presidents job to run around and take control of states every time a storm comes around. And that is what you people who are criticizing the President are asking him to do...for the federal government to run things for the states. Local people run their localities best...it's the premise of our entire country. Or at least it was once upon a time Get in - Get off - Get away....repeat as neccessary
  15. We live in a Republic. Which gives the states power. As it SHOULD be. The City of New Orleans and the State of LA had the first responsibility, with the feds to back them up. The feds backed them up immediately (Costa Guard was working round the clock immediately) and in a more massive scale after 2 or 3 days. Those first hours and days were New Orleans and the state responsibility. It was the city and states job to force evacuations...as it should be. I don't want the feds telling me what to do. 35% of LA's National Guard is in Iraq? So what? Where were the other 65% in the days following Katrina? And Clinton is responsible for most of what Bush is doing today in the world. Clinton is a fucking Communist who sold the United States out to China!!! He gave them missle secrets, the Panama Canal, and allowed their influence to increase globally. Clinton allowed Osama to attack the WTC in 93, the USS Cole, African embassies, US Barracks in Saudi Arabia with no real response or care. Clinton allowed Pakistan to export Nuclear Weapon technology to North Korea, Syria, Libya and Iran. Bush is merely trying to bring us security in the years ahead...by assuring US influence in Asia and the Middle East as opposed to Communist China or Islamic fundamentalists controlling these vital regions. 18. Those of you who are expecting hotels, motels and inns (which are mostly, as correctly stated above, owned by franchisees) to lose all this money...I ask these questions: 1. What have YOU PERSONALLY done to help these victims? 2. What did/do YOU PERSONALLY do to help the homeless people in your immediate area prior to Katrina? (yes, the US had homeless people prior to Katrina) Hope you all have some good answers... Get in - Get off - Get away....repeat as neccessary

  21. Edited for accuracy. Actually, I was going to say RSL instead of Skyhook, but it appears that an old style RSL may have actually contributed to one of the three fatalities. Will this offer apply to rig orders already in house? (I placed an order for a Vector3 w/ Skyhook sometime around 8/23/05) Get in - Get off - Get away....repeat as neccessary

  24. If you have colored line connectors, you are jumping an Aerodyne probably? I don't know if Aerodyne puts packing tabs on any of its canopies. I've never seen packing tabs on any of the Pilots I have flown. So don't search to hard for them. Get in - Get off - Get away....repeat as neccessary
  25. I should be by the time I receive it. I consulted with my instructors, my freefly coach (who is AFFI ), and Diablopilot (JP, who is an AFFI) before settling on the container size I ordered. I actually had instructors and people familiar with my landings/progression trying to steer me towards the 150main/143reserve combo, but opted for the larger 150main/160 reserve combo instead.
