  1. Another thing...is corn really a clean fuel source? To gorw corn requires at least three things from man...fertilizer (probably a PETROCHEMICAL), pesticides (probably a PETROCHEMICAL) and water (often in limited supply and polluted from the use/overuse of PETROCHEMICAL fertilizers and pesticides) Get in - Get off - Get away....repeat as neccessary
  2. So I'm not the only one getting these types of nonchalant responces. Do any dropzones ground people for at least a day or so when mistakes like these are made? Maybe they aren't being nonchalant - maybe they are new, don't know anybody very well, know they messed up and feel like a dip shit. I know that's how I felt. Now if they repeat that stupidity, well then that's a different story. Get in - Get off - Get away....repeat as neccessary
  3. Jumping from a plane is like stepping off a chair, gravity is acting on your body equally and as a whole. From a purely physical standpoint, the plane ride up is way more likely to jar your stomach than the jump itself. Get in - Get off - Get away....repeat as neccessary
  4. I know. I always give my gear a thorough check, but had gotten into the habit of not tightening the chest strap on the way up...sometimes not having it routed at all. Not anymore. I'll be ready to jump minus the goggles from now on before boarding. Get in - Get off - Get away....repeat as neccessary
  5. From 5 people away on the ride to altitude he noticed I had fu#ked up my chest strap routing. Maybe I would have noticed when I tightened and bungeed the strap before I jumped...maybe I wouldn't have... Glad I didn't have to find out. Thanks again Get in - Get off - Get away....repeat as neccessary

  7. Dude, your quest parallels mine almost exactly- jump numbers, exit weight, etc. I have searched all around for used gear that will hold a Safire2/Sabre2 190 down to a Spectre 170, thinking that this will hold me over for a couple of years. All the larger containers I find are 10 years old for the most part...or are damn near the price of new gear. My conclusion is to buy new gear, or at least a new container. That way everything is new - velcro (if any), tuck tabs, stiffeners etc. It is custom sized for YOU. If or when you ever need to resell, that size gear will still fetch top dollar. I've even gone as far as to decide I will only get black and greys on my new container so it will be easier to resell. And since I'm not going to have it for 10,000 jumps, why waste money on stainless steel upgrades? Or custom embroidery? The downside to new gear - the waiting time and cost. But if you have to have your used gear altered, or possibly repaired in any way, it's going to cost you...time and money. I just cannot decide between an Infinty or Mirage.... 8. From your profile jump numbers, you appear to be in the same boat as me, so here is a copy of recent email correspondence between myself and Cedric of Matter Clothing. Hopefully this helps you as well. My questions: I am just learning to freefly…as in have yet to try to sit fly. What fit should I be looking for in your clothing…tight, normal, normal+ etc? Are any of your lines more properly suited to beginners? His reply: First, i wouldn’t go for a 2 piece suit, a full suit is much better to fly with, more comfy as well. Second, as a beginner you have 2 choices: 1. you invest in a basic freefly suit, excellent price versus quality, 195 euros, really good to start with. You do 200/300 jumps with it and then you decide to go for a more advanced freefly suit. 2. you invest immediately in a proconcept freefly suit because you know already where you want to go in freeflying, you have certain goals and you will jump a lot. 10. I liked your suit, and other Matter suits I have seen, so I wrote Matter an email. Cedric responded pretty fast and was very helpful with my questions. How long did it take to deliver your suit once it was ordered? Did you go direct? Get in - Get off - Get away....repeat as neccessary
  11. Hinton? As in Canada? The Canadian Customs does NOT like me. I spent 3 hours once getting interrogated @ the Vancouver airport. They xrayed my luggage and clothes. Brought out a dog and had him sniff my crotch like 30 times. Ran a cloth over all my belongings, money, credit cards etc. Put the cloth in a machine, Machine said they found ionic traces of narcotics. So they strip searched me. Last year I was in Detroit for the NBA finals. Crossed the tunnel into Windsor. Got harrassed @ that crossing for an hour. They did NOT want me to enter Canada because I had a reckless driving 5 years prior. And all I wanted to do was buy my dad a bottle of Blue Label Johnnie Walker @ the Duty Free. Sorry, I will have to respectfully decline the invitation to Canada. (but I DO appreciate it!!!) Get in - Get off - Get away....repeat as neccessary

  13. Anyone every bought one of these gear discount coupons in the classifieds? 40% off a new PD reserve sounds like a good deal...if I pay 100 bucks. Get in - Get off - Get away....repeat as neccessary

  15. In an RW suit solo belly I fall @ ~125. Put on Freefly pants and a tshirt but still solo belly I'm closer to ~130. (pro track avgs.) On solo jumps I'm always doing flips and stuff though, so in actuality, I probably fall a tad slower. Get in - Get off - Get away....repeat as neccessary
  16. I need to meet some people like you at Perris... Lots of people post that they learn as much on 10 coached dives as 50 trying to do it on there own. At 44 dollars a coached dive (2 slots @19 plus a pack job @ 6), it seems to me its 50% CHEAPER to learn with a coach. Get in - Get off - Get away....repeat as neccessary

  19. And yes, I read the gear reviews and I did a search. All the returns I got were from 2003...talking about creasing issues on the early model G4's. I'm assuming these have been resolved. Kurt Get in - Get off - Get away....repeat as neccessary

  21. Been doing some container shopping. I am interested in Mirage and Infinity for the most part. What are the differences between a Mirage G3 and G4? What are some of the reasons you chose one over the other? ie G4 over G3, or Infinity over Mirage I really like the demo Infinity that I've jumped, but I believe it's because it happens to fit me the best of the demo rigs available for my canopy/harness size. I understand that any rig I get custom made will fit me better. On the flip side, I like Mirages 4 week delivery time. Just looking for info.
