  2. Life's but a walking shadow, a poor player that struts and frets his hour upon the stage and then is heard no more. It is a tale, told by an idiot, full of sound and fury - signifying nothing. - W.Shakespeare (Othello - I think) As for what does it mean? Who the hell knows! ~Chivo

  7. If you're not 100% sure, you can go ahead an try it in henna. That way if you don't like it, or the size, or whatever, it will fade away. I couldn't have a tatoo, I don't like the idea of having something on my skin as being permanent, specially because I don't know if I'll regret it later. Either way, with henna is like a "try before you buy" type of thing. Later, ~Chivo
  8. Since there are a lot of monkeys around here... MONKEY Monkeys are fun and loving persons who are always cheerful and energetic. They are very clever. Give a monkey a boring book to read and he'll turn it into a Musical. Better yet, he'll invite everyone to see it free! That's how talented, creative and generous monkeys usually are. If you go to a party, you'll find Monkeys at the center of attention. Their charm and humor is the key to their popularity. Sociable and diplomatic as they may appear, they can be deceptive sometimes - they hide their opinions of others beneath their friendliness. But they don't hide their emotion. You can probably tell how a monkey is feeling from miles away - he wants everyone to know how happy or depressed he is. Monkey people are very good at problem-solving. Wherever you are, whoever you may be, if you've got a problem pick up the phone and dial-a-Monkey. Monkeys know how to listen closely and work out solutions at the same time. And because Monkeys' curiosity, they usually have a great thirst for knowledge. Still they have few scruples - they could be unreasonable sometimes, and they have the ability to persuade themselves and everyone around them to believe that they are doing the right things. Some say monkeys are self-centered, some say they are opportunistic, some say they are guileful, but monkeys couldn't care less - because they are also indifferent. The monkey has a good chance of becoming famous or well-known. Whatever he does, his charm and luck will make him successful. As friends, Monkeys are both loyal and devoted, as lovers, they can be passionate and yet flighty - they can fall easily in love but will get tired of the relationship and look for another. Most Monkeys have one fetish - FOOD. They are not pigs, they don't stuff themselves with food, instead, they just have this habit of eating snacks whenever they like, and wherever they like. And one last truth about monkey people is, they adore bananas. Go visit your monkey friend's kitchen, I bet you will find some bananas there. 9. Mon info on OX... Ox people are hard-working and persistent, they can stick at a task longer and go at it harder than anybody. They believe in themselves and tend to classify almost everything into two basic categories, bad and good. They hold up their high standards as a model and severely judge those who don't aspire to maintain these same ideals. Ox people are not social or party animals, they tend to be quiet when in a party. Although appears to be tranquil, in fact, Oxens are ponderous but impulsive when angry. They are capable of fearsome rages, therefore, it is better not to cross an Oxen. Ox people are observant, they have remarkable memories and are good at reporting on absolutely everything they observe. Go ask an Oxen if he remembers who were at the party 8 months ago, most likely, he will name them one by one to you. In the home, the Ox is a great guy to have around. In business, the OX can succeed in the arts, a contracting business, or an estate., thanks to their creative nature. And since an Ox is intelligent and good at his hands, he can be a good surgeon as well. Ox people are stubborn and dogmatic, they believe in their decision and will never regret. They are also very close to their families. disappointedly, Oxens often find that those who are close to them fail to understand them. Nevertheless, they are patient, and caring and that makes the Oxen the best friend you can ever have. Oxens are very responsible and loyal. Ox people are seldom jealous. but they will be jealous of their rights; and the fidelity of a husband or a wife is one of their rights. They are very family-oriented, conservative and faithful. Compatibility Chart (1 - least compatible, 100 - most compatible) Rat 88 - A stable and steady relationship Ox 72 - Conservative! Mutually protect & provide Tiger 33 - Almost impossible to make it work. Rabbit 72 - This could work. Dragon 52 - Don't, two of you will fight constantly. Snake 85 - This union can be a good one. Horse 37 - Unfortunately, they are part. Goat 56 - Probably not. Monkey 81 - Nice. They are compatible and stable. Rooster 86 - You are lucky enough to find each other. 10. I'm an Ox? Funny enough my nickname is Chivo (goat), LOL! Leader but loner, patient, precise, hard working, proud, reserved, strong, persistent, conservative, steady, trustworthy, introverted but a commanding and eloquent speaker, naive in relationships. Tends to be vengeful, obstinate, demanding, slow, sore loser, and jealous. Well-balanced yin and yang. Element: Earth Color: Yellow Ideal Partner: Snake, Rooster ~Chivo
  11. Sweet! But it would've been sweeter if it actually worked! LOL! I got this... 500 Internal Server Error The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request. 12. Well said. I agree, and thought of this before but didn't know how to express it in a constructive manner. 3 cutaways in 36 jumps... that's about a 8.3% failure rate. IMHO, this is not an acceptable rate. If it continues, he might get seriously injured or worse. Everybody should learn from this experience. Its not about pointing fingers, but about finding a solution. Every DZ should try to monitor people that recently became off-student status. We all have to take care of one another (I know it is easier said than done). And the students should ask for supervision when they're doing something for the first time (and maybe for second and third times too). Have the proper respect for the sport, and be safe. ~Chivo
  13. Life is a balancing act. I juggle between my priorities so that I'm able to do most of them. Some will take longer than others, but overall I can't complain. I still manage to save some, not much, but some. ~Chivo
  14. One I used to like was the classic "shoot the monkey" problem... Problem: A hunter fires a dart gun with a harmless sedative at a monkey hanging from a vine a distance h vertically above the dart gun and a distance R horizontally away from the dart gun. The hunter aims directly at the monkey and fires, but just as the hunter fires, the monkey, using its incredible spider-monkey sense, realizes what's up and drops from the vine. Does the monkey avoid the dart? Enjoy. ~Chivo
  15. ROFL! Didn't see that one coming! HAHAHA! Chivo

    Nerve problems.

Hey Clint, what's up? Having anxiety problems? That's ok, many people have them, I know I'm one of them. I used to get really nervous before every jump. Sometimes I even got sick before jumping. And I ALWAYS got sick after each of my AFF jumps. Every time after I landed, I removed my helmet and got sick. After washing my teeth, I waited a few hours to get rid of the anxiety/motion sickness and jumped again. -Watch what you eat: Everytime I go skydiving I try to eat light. Most of the time all I have for breakfast is a Jamba Juice (Jamba Powerboost - to be exact). -On the ride to altitude: Think of the diveflow, go over it a zillion times. Review your emergency procedures and check your handles. -Safety above all: On the ground, have your instructors check and re-check your gear. It helped to calm me down to know that I was taking all the time to prepare and doing everything I could to make the jump as safe as possible. Other than that, I can assure you: The more you jump, the easier it will get to overcome the anxiety. When you least expect it, you'll realize it is not a problem anymore. It is a hassle, but I was able to overcome it. I know you can too. Good luck, Chivo
  17. You built it? Or bought it? Chivo
  18. If you like Ad-Aware, you should also take a preemptive counter measure for banners and pop-ups and other of the web-evils. I started using Proxomitron a while ago and it rulez! When you browse the web, I rarely get a pop-up, it even removes a lot of the advertisements. And if you're familiar with regular expresions, you can implement your own filters too. Chivo

  21. Funny how nice guys fall for the bad girls and how the nice girls fall for the bad guys. So in the end... you only get some if you're bad. Chivo
  22. Oh, and yes, I totally forgot... the plane would be seriously damaged, so everyone else in the plane would have to jump, including the pilot. I hope this doesn't happen to me or anyone for that matter. But I wanted to discuss it because it was never mentioned in training. Chivo
