DirectX comes with XP. Make sure you have all the updates (XP SP1). Apparently it is unable to set the pixel format for the rendering context, i.e. unsupported resolution by your card/monitor configuration. First it tries with the OpenGL drivers and since it can't make it work, it then tries with the 3dfx drivers. The solution: Assuming you have a decent (newer) graphics card, probably from nvidia or ati... go to their website and download their drivers. XP has drivers for both of them but they do not include the opengl extensions (only direct3d). But if you download the drivers from www.nvidia.com or www.ati.com, you'll get what you need. With all the computing power/electronics available today, is it really necessary to send a human being? Most of the samples needed for reaserch can be obtained using robots. And if the research is about how humans react to no/low gravity, they can do it without going all the way to the moon. ~Chivo
