  4. Wow I need to change my major! Greenie in training.
  5. That sucks I am kinda in the same boat however it is me forcing myself not to jump. Now that I am off student status I don't want to jump til I get my own rig. To me it just isn't worth 20$ a jump to rent gear, that will buy a rig in a hurry. Greenie in training.
  6. How does being stuck in Missouri keep you from jumping? If you are in St. Louis there are several good dropzones close to you. My personal favorite is archway skydiving in vandalia, IL.(I may be biased as it is the only DZ I have ever jumped at) Greenie in training.
  7. I am a "newbie" fresh off of student status and have no problem jumping with other low timers at my home DZ. This however could be because I have jumped with alot of people there and my abilities and faults are allready known at the DZ. I can understand being asked to go on a safety check dive with my friend and a staff member at a DZ I had never jumped at before, as a matter of fact I wouldn't be surprised if that happened if I showed up at a new DZ to do solo's with my jump numbers. I don't think that it is hard to find someone experienced to jump with. You just have to be more outgoing if you are the "new guy." Be sure to buy the beer for all your firsts and hang out for the parties when you can, you will quickly make friends with alot of the more experienced jumpers. By the time I got my "A" I was well known at the DZ, and had alot of people who were waiting to jump with me. You just can't expect everyone to do everything for you, be outgoing and put the effort into meeting people at the DZ to jump with. Greenie in training.

    New Rig

Looks great! Now you just need to find a proper model for it, the steps just don't do it justice. Greenie in training.
  9. Just check the "Dropzones" tab at the top of the page to find a DZ close to you and get out there ASAP. Don't wait around any longer you will be kicking yourself for it the first time your body meets the sky! Blue skies! Greenie in training.
  10. Welcome to the forums, sounds like you are well on your way to becoming a great skydiver. Good luck with your B! Blue skies! Greenie in training.
  11. Quite possibly the funniest report from WFFC. Literally had me laughing at my desk. Greenie in training.
  12. That couldn't be more true! I will never forget when my friends found out the reason that they hadn't seen me in a month was because I spend all of my time jumping from planes. One friend said "you really are nuts" I thought out loud whuffo and got to spend the next few minutes explaining what the term meant. Greenie in training.
  13. Sounds like it! Have fun seeing all the DZ's, err I mean the country. Greenie in training.
  14. Yup, me too. same here Greenie in training.
  15. Just ask him. I know one of the riggers at my DZ prefers a case of Dr. Pepper. Greenie in training.
  16. Allmost forgot one of the best ones... Two roads diverged in a wood, and I-- I took the one less traveled by, And that has made all the difference. -Robert Frost Greenie in training.
  17. Here are a few of my favorites. As a well-spent day brings happy sleep, so life well used brings happy death. -Leonardo da Vinci Those who dream by day are cognizant of many things which escape those who dream only by night. -Edgar Allan Poe You gain strength, courage and confidence by every experience in which you really stop to look fear in the face. You are able to say to yourself, 'I have lived through this horror. I can take the next thing that comes along.' You must do the thing you think you cannot do. -Eleanor Roosevelt We can't all be heroes because somebody has to sit on the curb and clap as they go by. -Will Rogers What's the use of a good quotation if you can't change it? -Doctor Who There are risks and costs to a program of action. But they are far less than the long-range risks and costs of comfortable inaction. -John F. Kennedy Greenie in training.
  18. Yep, eventually you will move onto poised and diving exits. Greenie in training.
  19. I would encourage you to do exactly the opposite, I picked up some good ideas from each instructor I had that I would have missed out on had I stayed with the same one the whole time. On a side note though I know what you mean about the door, I still don't like to sit "student" in our 182. Greenie in training.
  20. High praise indeed! How in the world could that be the first thing that comes to your mind to say when you land?! Greenie in training.
